With this thought, Sam Noah couldn’t help but feel bitter in his heart. Perhaps for the rest of his life, if he wanted to hold her or kiss her, he could only do so secretly, without her knowing.

After taking the medicine, Tyler felt much better and no longer had any vomiting or diarrhea. He fell asleep in her arms in no time.
Sam Noah sat at the table, probably dealing with company matters, while Thelma couldn’t sleep. She didn’t dare to look at him, yet she wanted to. She secretly glanced at him, and just as she did, he caught her in the act.
Thelma felt a bit embarrassed. To cover up her fluster, she hurriedly asked, “I heard Mom say she took Tyler away before, right?”
Sam Noah’s expression was somewhat complicated. “She did take him away, shortly after Tyler was born. She took him away while I wasn’t there.”
“Shortly after he was born? She took him away while I was in confinement?”
“Yes.”
So that was it! No wonder her relationship with her mother-in-law was so poor. Women are particularly sensitive and vulnerable during confinement, and having her child taken away was almost like taking her life. Now she could understand why her attitude towards her mother-in-law was so terrible.
But why did she take Tyler away? Was it because of her bad character in the past? From what she understood so far, it seemed she had always had a volatile attitude towards life.
If that was the case, it was indeed dangerous for the child to stay by her side. Was that why she took Tyler away?
Thelma couldn’t figure it out for a moment and planned to find an opportunity to ask her mother-in-law tomorrow.

Sam Noah looked at her, his gaze somewhat astonished, but he simply said, “Don’t think about the past. Get some rest.”
At that moment, Thelma’s heart was in turmoil, both because of the incident of the child being taken away and her changing feelings towards Sam Noah, so she couldn’t rest early.
“By the way, where did you sleep last night?”
Sam Noah’s body stiffened imperceptibly, but his tone remained natural and calm. “I didn’t sleep last night.”
He wasn’t wrong; he really hadn’t slept much last night.
For some reason, Thelma felt a bit disappointed by this answer, thinking he had slept here last night.
Thelma said, “Since you didn’t sleep last night, you should rest early.”
He couldn’t rest early.
“It’s fine. You and the child sleep first.”
Thelma couldn’t sleep. She couldn’t even understand why she suddenly had such thoughts about Sam Noah. Although she had some fondness for him, mostly she respected him. He was such a serious and dignified gentleman, and she felt her thoughts were truly filthy, almost a desecration of him.
As she continued to think wildly, Thelma became even more unable to sleep. After Sam Noah had finished his work, he stood up, and Thelma hurriedly closed her eyes, pretending to be asleep.
Sam Noah sat down by the bed. Although Thelma had her eyes closed, she could feel him looking at them. After sitting quietly for a while, he lay down, but kept a little distance from them.

The room’s lights were turned off, and the house fell into darkness. Thelma covered most of her face with the blanket, leaving only her eyes exposed, quietly watching him. Although the light wasn’t very bright, she could see his outline. He lay flat on the bed, and from her angle, his facial features were very distinct: a full forehead, a high nose bridge, and beautifully curved lips.
He was really good-looking.
