The Love She Never Saw Coming – Chapter 35

Embrace

The little one was asleep, and Thelma felt there was no need to stay there any longer, so she said, “I… I’ll head back to my room first.”

But before she could turn to leave, he said again, “Stay here tonight.”

Thelma: “…”

His voice was a bit urgent, yet it wasn’t a question, nor did it sound like he was discussing it with her; his tone carried a sense of finality.

Thelma turned to look at him, but when their eyes met, he instinctively looked away. “Tyler wants his mom and dad to be with him while he sleeps. If he wakes up and doesn’t see you, he’ll be very disappointed.”

Thelma looked down at her son’s sleeping face and suddenly remembered he had said that other kids’ parents all slept together. He had also said that his mom should be closer to his dad because other kids’ parents were all so close.

Should I sleep with Sam Noah?

But aren’t they husband and wife? It didn’t seem like a big deal to sleep in his room, right? Moreover, there was a little one present.

Just sleep, it’s not a big deal.

Thelma thought for a moment and finally nodded.

However, she didn’t see that at the moment she nodded, Sam Noah finally relaxed the blanket he had been holding tightly, though his expression remained calm, as if her sleeping here was not a big deal.

“It’s getting late, you should rest early,” he said softly.

Thelma pulled back the blanket and lay down, the blanket feeling very unfamiliar. At first, she felt a bit uneasy as she settled in.

However, leaning against the child and smelling the milky scent on him, she quickly relaxed.

She snuggled closely against Tyler and pulled the blanket over her face. Sam Noah turned off the TV and pressed the switch, plunging the room into darkness.

Although there was a child between them and they were a bit far apart, his presence was so strong, especially in the silent darkness; it was hard for her to ignore.

Thelma was afraid of overthinking, constantly urging herself to sleep, and later, without realizing it, she fell asleep.

When she groggily woke up, Thelma felt as if she were lying in a warm embrace. She was facing away from the person, her back pressed against his firm chest, and his arm was wrapped around her waist.

She thought she was dreaming, but after opening her eyes for a while and finding the embrace hadn’t disappeared, she realized that she was indeed lying in a solid, warm embrace.

At that moment, it was still dark outside, but there was light coming in through the window, so the room wasn’t completely dark.

She recalled the previous night when she had slept with Tyler in Sam Noah’s room. So, was the person holding her Sam Noah?

How did she end up in his arms?

They were so close that she could feel his slightly hot body temperature and the sound of his even breathing against the top of her head.

Her nose was filled with his scent, fresh and pleasant, somewhat reminiscent of camellia.

Thelma’s body quickly stiffened, and she didn’t dare to move.

For some inexplicable reason, why… was he holding her while sleeping?

What should she do now? He seemed to be asleep already.

Thelma bit her lip, feeling at a loss for a moment, her heart racing. Should she take the chance to slip away while he was asleep? What if he woke up and felt awkward?

Did she sleepwalk into his arms, or did he pull her in? But she was still on the same side as last night.

Did he take the initiative to hold her?

The more Thelma thought about it, the faster her heart raced, and her cheeks unknowingly flushed. She was a bit afraid that it would be awkward when he woke up, but shamefully, she found herself somewhat cherishing the feeling of being held by him.

His body was really solid, and lying in his arms inexplicably made her feel safe.

However, later on, she felt too helpless, and with her heart pounding so loudly, she was afraid of waking him. She tried to carefully shift away from his embrace, but as soon as she sat up, the arm she had struggled so hard to pull down suddenly came back up.

He wrapped his arm around her waist, his solid chest pressing against her back, the hot temperature and his strong masculine scent instantly enveloping her from behind.

His lips brushed against her ear, and a slightly hoarse voice sounded beside her ear—

“Where are you going?”
