Mira nodded, “My thoughts are the same as Sister Thelma’s.”
Phoenix also expressed support for accepting the offer. Since everyone was in agreement, Connor called the brand to confirm their cooperation.
After signing the contract, Mira officially became the spokesperson for Snap Herbal’s women’s skincare line. A few days later, she attended the brand’s spokesperson launch event with the brand representatives.
This was a significant announcement for Mira. After interviewing several candidates, Thelma and Phoenix watched the live stream together in the conference room.
Today, Mira wore a white dress, a sleeveless knee-length gown, pure white, simple yet fresh. Thelma had the stylist curl her hair into long straight locks, cascading like a waterfall over her shoulders. The contrast of her black hair and her cool, abstinent face made her look like a fairy. It must be said that Mira had great potential in terms of image; she seemed to be able to pull off any look, and each time she changed her style, it was always a refreshing surprise.
Jones Calvin wore a black deep V knit shirt, black trousers, and black leather boots, with his hair dyed a reddish-brown. He accessorized with a white necklace, and unlike his smoky makeup and ear studs on stage, he dressed simply today. It must be said that this boy was truly stunning, with great skin and a very clean face; he looked like a work of art just by sitting there.
Perhaps considering the previous intense fan conflicts, the brand arranged for the two to sit on either side of the host during the launch event, each holding a popular product from the brand, posing for photos with the cameras below.
The host then introduced several products and invited the president of the brand’s North America region to the stage for a group photo with the two spokespersons.
Next was the Q&A session for reporters, where everyone avoided mentioning the previous discord between the two, focusing instead on brand-related questions. Everything was going smoothly, and just when Thelma thought the launch event would end perfectly, a reporter stood up and asked, “Miss Mira, don’t you feel awkward standing here? Didn’t you report Jones Calvin for harassment before? Since he harassed you, shouldn’t you be avoiding him? Why can you share the stage with him at the launch event? Or should I say that your previous report of harassment and the subsequent series of events were just a publicity stunt by your company?”
As soon as the words fell, an odd silence enveloped the launch event. The host on stage felt awkward, while Mira merely furrowed her brows slightly, her expression remaining largely unchanged. She took the microphone and looked directly at the reporter, saying, “I am the one who was harassed; I did nothing wrong. Why should I hide? You just asked me if I feel awkward standing here; I’ll answer you—I do not feel awkward.”
The reporter pressed on, “So you mean that the one who should feel awkward is Jones Calvin? He should be hiding like a rat in the street, not shamelessly appearing here?”
Even the host could tell that the reporter was clearly trying to stir up trouble. Just as the host was about to speak, Jones Calvin took the microphone and said, “Today is the launch event for Snap Herbal. Please refrain from asking such boring questions here. Thank you.”
The reporter, however, was relentless, continuing to ask, “Miss Mira, are you implying what I just stated?”
Mira’s gaze was cold and expressionless. “I’m just telling you why I don’t need to hide. You’re already jumping to defend Jones Calvin; if you’re his fan, your eagerness to jump in is really unflattering.”
Reporter: “…”
The reporter wanted to say more, but security came over and escorted her out. The host quickly smoothed things over, using a few humorous remarks to redirect the situation, and the launch event continued.
However, Thelma, who watched the entire live stream, had a bad feeling. Sure enough, not long after, she received a call from Mira’s assistant, Caro.
Caro was anxious on the other end of the line, saying, “Sister Thelma, it’s bad! A lot of Jones Calvin’s fans have gathered at the entrance of the launch event, blocking the door. I feel like they’re not here for good.”
Caro was a recent graduate. When she first applied for the assistant position, Thelma had actually rejected her. She wore black-rimmed glasses and had a face that screamed ‘good girl,’ always looking cautious. At first glance, Thelma felt she wasn’t suitable for the high-risk job of a star’s assistant.
However, after Thelma expressed her views and politely declined, Caro immediately took off her coat. When Thelma saw the solid muscles on her shoulders and her slightly robust arms, she quickly changed her mind and agreed to hire her.
She hadn’t expected that the seemingly frail Caro would have such strength once she took off her clothes. Hiring her saved the need for bodyguards for Mira, which was quite cost-effective.
However, after listening to Caro’s account, Thelma realized that Caro alone couldn’t handle so many crazy fans of Jones Calvin. She immediately called Noah to borrow a few security personnel, and Noah naturally agreed without hesitation, sending people over right away.
Regardless, Thelma felt it was better to be prepared. Although Mira hadn’t done anything wrong at the launch event, the sheer number of Jones Calvin’s brainless fans was overwhelming, and Thelma feared for her safety, so she borrowed people to protect her.
