The Love She Never Saw Coming – Chapter 221

Floated

Presley turned to look at her, and Thelma couldn’t tell if it was just her imagination, but she felt that Presley’s gaze had a complex, inscrutable depth.

“It won’t happen. Sharon knows who should be killed and who shouldn’t.”

“…”

Isn’t she a schizophrenic? How can someone with a mental illness still have clear judgment like a normal person about who should be killed and who shouldn’t? But Thelma didn’t ask further.

“Actually, I have many doubts. How did Sharon manage to kill so many people by herself? Even if she took advantage of others being drunk, it’s unrealistic to kill that many people at once, especially since she has a disability.”

Presley shrugged, “That’s unknown. The police will probably investigate it thoroughly.”

Thelma thought about it and agreed.

“Should we go over and say hello?” Presley asked.

Thelma shook her head, “Forget it, it’s enough to see her doing well.”

The two of them watched from a distance for a while before leaving. Thelma took one last look at them and saw Sharon bouncing around the yard like a little girl, while Connor followed behind her slowly, seemingly enjoying this moment of peaceful beauty.

Seeing this, Thelma couldn’t help but smile.

This isn’t bad.

Not long after Thelma left, Samantha heard footsteps coming in. She thought Thelma had forgotten something and had come back to get it. Just as she was about to scold her for not tidying up, she looked up and saw that the visitor was Leon.

Samantha felt her heart tremble heavily. She lowered her head and tried to ask calmly, “Aren’t you working today?”

Leon was still in his uniform. He sat down across from her and said, “There’s not much going on in the team today.”

Leon looked incredibly handsome in his uniform, exuding a heroic demeanor. The serious police uniform gave him an air of solemnity and composure.

Samantha didn’t dare to let her gaze linger on him.

Leon looked at the gloves she was knitting and asked the same question as Thelma, “Knitting wool gloves in summer?”

Samantha replied, “I just learned, and I’m slow. I’m afraid I won’t finish in time if I start knitting in winter.”

Leon frowned at the dark yarn, “Don’t girls prefer light, pastel colors? Why are you using this color?”

Samantha glanced at him and then lowered her head, feeling a bit embarrassed, “It’s for you.”

Leon was taken aback, “For… me?”

She nodded.

Leon didn’t say anything. He maintained a slightly stiff posture, staring at the ball of yarn for a while. After a moment, he turned his head to the side, pursed his lips, and smiled lightly.

When he turned back, he focused on her hands knitting the gloves. Her movements were indeed slow, but each stitch was made with great care. Unable to resist, Leon reached out and grabbed her hand.

Samantha’s body stiffened, and she looked at him in confusion.

“Put it down for now.”

Seeing his serious expression, Samantha thought he had something important to say, so she obediently set the yarn down.

“Come here,” he said again.

Samantha obediently walked over, but as soon as she got close, he suddenly pulled her hand with force, and Samantha, caught off guard, was pulled onto his lap.

“What… are you doing?”

Samantha felt extremely embarrassed and instinctively tried to stand up, but Leon immediately tightened his arms around her, not allowing her to move.

After struggling a few times without success, Samantha settled down.

He held her without saying a word, and Samantha felt shy being held by him, not daring to look up.

The room suddenly became very quiet, quiet enough for her to hear his breathing above her head.

She didn’t know how long it had been when Leon suddenly pinched her chin, tilting her head up slightly. Samantha saw him lean down, his breath getting closer, and that cold, stern face coming nearer.

She immediately closed her eyes, her hands instinctively gripping her pants.

Before long, she felt his hot lips press against hers, followed by a fiery tongue slipping into her mouth…

Samantha’s body was stiff as a board; she seemed to be left with only one instinct, a kind of instinctive response to Leon’s kiss.

At first, his kisses were gentle and lingering, stirring her heart and mind into chaos. Later, his kisses grew hotter, and as she listened to his heavy breathing, she felt her cheeks burning as if they were about to catch fire.

She didn’t know how long it was before he finally let her go. He was panting heavily, while she felt weak all over, leaning against his chest.

“Take out your household registration book.”

“What?” Samantha was still dazed.

“The household registration book, we’re going to get our marriage certificate.”

“…”

Didn’t we agree to just try it out first? How could we go get a certificate just a few days after confirming our relationship? Samantha felt it was a bit too fast. But perhaps it was Leon’s sudden kiss that had thrown her heart into disarray; she didn’t even say a word of refusal. Instead, she floated off to the room to get the household registration book, and then floated off with Leon to the civil affairs bureau, and then floated off again to receive the marriage certificate.
