The Love She Never Saw Coming – Chapter 220

Village

Leon suddenly tightly grasped her hand, holding it gently, warm and comfortable.

With his hand holding hers, Samantha’s face turned even redder. But before she could recover from the sudden shyness of him grabbing her hand, Leon suddenly pulled her into his embrace, holding her tightly.

He softly called her name.

“Samantha.”

Samantha had never expected that the violent and unruly boy would have such a gentle tone.

She felt her body inexplicably soften. Since she had already agreed to be his girlfriend, there was no need for her to be shy. She leaned against his chest and nodded, smiling as she softly replied, “Mm, I’m here.”

Thelma was very happy for her sister after learning that she was with Leon. Her sister had finally found her good match, and she wouldn’t have to be all alone anymore.

Thelma took some time to visit the hotel to gossip about her sister’s love life. Samantha was knitting a pair of gloves, and Thelma was quite surprised to see her knitting gloves in the middle of summer. After asking, she learned that she was actually knitting them for Leon.

“How far have you and Leon gone?” Thelma asked, cracking sunflower seeds and winking at Samantha.

Samantha’s face turned red, “We just held hands.”

“Don’t fool me; I don’t believe that.”

Samantha shot her a glare, “I don’t care whether you believe it or not.”

In fact, she wasn’t lying to Thelma. She and Leon had confirmed their relationship just a few days ago, the day she agreed to give it a try, they had held hands and hugged.

Just then, Thelma’s phone rang. She picked it up and saw it was a call from Presley. After answering, Thelma hung up and said to Samantha, “I have some things to take care of, so I’ll leave first. Now that you have a place to belong, I can rest easy. You and Officer Leon need to get along well, okay?”

“Alright, alright, go take care of your business and stop teasing me here.”

After Thelma left, she went to find Presley, and the two of them went together to a sanatorium that Presley had funded, where Sharon was staying.

A few months ago, a major incident occurred in the country, and the village where Sharon lived was wiped out overnight, and the murderer was Sharon.

It was said that on that day, after the villagers had been detained for several months, they were released, and everyone in the village was very happy, celebrating their survival with a feast.

Sharon took advantage of the drunkenness of these people to kill them all, and then she set fire to the entire village. It was reported that some bodies were so mutilated that not even a complete bone could be found.

Due to the fire, the cellar in the village collapsed. When the police went to investigate, they discovered this hidden cellar and found several female skeletons inside, which had been dead for a long time. After DNA comparison, it was confirmed that these skeletons belonged to several girls who had gone missing years ago. The police then followed the clues and uncovered a major human trafficking case, later discovering that almost everyone in that village was a trafficker.

After Sharon set the village on fire, she ran out, laughing wildly. But she was a madwoman, so it was no surprise that she could do something so crazy. Precisely because she was insane, the police did not pursue her criminal responsibility, and Presley took her to the sanatorium for care.

When Thelma and Presley arrived at the sanatorium, Sharon was in the backyard, along with Connor. In the backyard, there was a cluster of forget-me-nots, and they saw Sharon squatting on the ground, picking a forget-me-not to wear on her head. She smiled and asked Connor, “Do I look good?”

After arranging her stay at the sanatorium, Presley conducted a series of treatments for her, helping her fill in her teeth and repair some scars on her face. With proper nutrition, her hair gradually became shiny. Although the Sharon in front of them could not compare to the beauty she had over a decade ago, she looked much more pleasant than before.

Connor also squatted in front of her, gently ruffling her hair, and smiled, “You look great.”

Sharon was very happy, humming a song as she leaned in to smell the flowers.

“I heard Connor plans to take Sharon away?”

Presley said, “He does have this plan. He specifically bought a house to live with Sharon.”

After everything they had been through, Connor and Sharon could finally be together, and Thelma was very happy for them. However, she couldn’t help but feel a bit worried.

“Sharon’s mental state isn’t perfect. She killed an entire village of people. Wouldn’t it be dangerous for Connor to live with her? What if one day she goes mad and kills him,  too?”
