She was so cute; she seemed to be adorable no matter what. He really thought there was nothing about her that wasn’t cute, so seeing her clearly tired but trying to hold on, he couldn’t help but kiss the top of her head.
The Spring Festival Gala continued on the TV. He held her, feeling a sense of stability and peace in his heart. Just a few months ago, all of this seemed like a luxury to him, but unexpectedly, in less than a few months, everything had changed. He could hold the girl he loved and be with her for a long time.
The clock struck midnight, and she lazily crawled out of his embrace. Rubbing her eyes, she asked, “Why didn’t you wake me up when I fell asleep?”
He smiled and kissed her cheek, “If you’re tired, just sleep.”
She noticed the host on the television wishing everyone a Happy New Year. Suddenly, she turned around, a mysterious smile on her face, kissed him on the lips, wrapped her arms around his neck, and said, “I love you.”
“Hmm?”
“For today.”
“Hmm.”
He smiled and held her tightly in his arms.
Heaven had not been unkind to him; he had ultimately received his happiness.
Years later, Thelma officially entered the working state. Mira had just released a song, and Phoenix wanted to create an album for her. The songs for the album needed to be completed in the first half of the year, but there was only one title track so far, and Thelma had to work overtime to produce a few more songs.
Phoenix wanted to get Mira’s album out quickly, so during this time, everyone in Thelma Studio was working overtime. Thelma returned home every day, had dinner, and then immersed herself in the workspace. Creating music was truly mentally exhausting; Thelma felt like she was about to go bald.
That night, while she was writing a song, Sam Noah knocked on the door and asked her, “Are you hungry? Do you want something to eat?”
Thelma didn’t even look up, “No, I’ll eat later.”
There was no response from Sam Noah at the door, and Thelma thought he had left. However, a moment later, he swaggered in holding a book. There was a lazy chair in her workspace, and he plopped down into it, flipping open the book to read.
Thelma: “……”
He was wearing a silk bathrobe, and as he lay back, the robe slipped down slightly, revealing a bit of his chest. His long legs were slightly bent, resting on the recliner, exposing his strong calves.
What was this guy doing, coming over to seduce her for no reason?
Sam Noah noticed her gaze and feigned innocence, “What’s wrong? You do your thing; why are you looking at me?”
Thelma walked over, glaring at him, “Why are you coming over in such disarray?”
Sam Noah glanced down at his bathrobe, looking completely unconcerned, “We’re like an old married couple now; I don’t think we need to worry about these details, right? Or do you dislike me being here?”
He lay there, exposing his chest and thighs; how could she focus on work now?
Seeing her standing still, Sam Noah grabbed her hand, “What’s wrong? Do you really find me annoying?”
She didn’t respond, so Sam Noah said, “Alright, alright, I’ll go look somewhere else.”
He stood up to leave, but she suddenly lunged at him, pushing him back onto the lazy chair. She leaned on his chest, poking his chin with her finger, “You think you can just flirt and leave? It’s not that easy!”
Sam Noah wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her completely onto him. He kissed her forehead and said, “Work should be balanced with rest. You haven’t been sleeping well these past few days. Take your time writing songs; burning the midnight oil won’t help your inspiration.”
Thelma sighed, “I want to finish it quickly. The album needs to be ready before summer vacation.”
“Why the rush?”
“Phoenix plans to go to the states. after finishing the album; she wants to buy some high-quality s***m.”
“That’s fine. When she goes to the states., I’ll help you find an arranger. Just take your time; don’t rush.”
Thelma looked at him without speaking. Seeing this, Sam Noah guessed she had more on her mind and asked, “What’s wrong? Why are you so anxious about the album?”
