The Love She Never Saw Coming – Chapter 192

Suffocate

Sam Noah had been by her bedside for these days. Early that morning, he went out to make a phone call. When he returned, he found the bed empty. Where was she? No one dared to move her without his permission. Could it be that she had woken up?

Sam Noah’s heart raced, but he also felt a hint of worry. He asked the nurse on duty, and she told him she saw Mrs. Sam heading to the back yard of the hospital. Sam Noah hurried to the back yard.

Walking through a winding corridor, he indeed saw her standing in the yard, and Sam Noah finally breathed a sigh of relief.

“It’s so cold outside, why are you only wearing so little?”

Thelma turned to look when she heard the voice. The man walked slowly towards her, his brows furrowed with concern. Thelma looked at him, and scenes from the past replayed in her mind, a sour feeling rising in her nose.

This man was her greatest love and also the one she owed the most.

In the moment before her amnesia, she had thought about accepting his kindness and being with him, but she felt uneasy inside. After all that had happened, could he really still accept her? Could they really be together again?

But after spending so many days together, she understood that they could indeed be affectionate. He could truly be with her regardless of the past, as long as she was willing to take a step towards him, he would take those ninety-nine steps.

Sam Noah… she really thought he was foolish.

He stepped forward, took off his coat, and draped it over her shoulders, asking, “Are you feeling better? Is there anywhere else that hurts?”

Thelma shook her head, “No, I’m fine.”

“Let’s go inside. I’ll have the doctor check you again.”

“Okay.”

Thelma followed him inside. The doctor examined her again. Aside from the superficial injury on her head, there were no other major issues.

Since there were no major problems, Thelma didn’t want to stay in the hospital any longer, so Sam Noah helped her with the discharge.

When they came out of the hospital building, Thelma saw someone being stopped at the entrance. That person, upon seeing them, suddenly pushed aside the two people blocking her and stumbled in.

As she got closer, Thelma could see who it was.

It was  Norah, but how had she become like this?

Norah always appeared radiant, exuding a sense of refinement and superiority, making it clear at a glance that she was a top socialite born into privilege.

But now, she was disheveled, bare-faced, and her clothes were wrinkled, looking as if she hadn’t changed them in days.

She rushed over and, with a thud, knelt in front of Sam Noah, her eyes red from crying, filled with despair.

“Where have you taken my brother? Please give him back to me! I will listen to you, I promise I won’t act recklessly again. Just return my brother to me, please!”

To be honest, if she hadn’t looked closely, she wouldn’t have recognized that this person was  Norah, the spoiled and willful young lady who didn’t even regard Sam Noah’s mother. She always had an arrogant demeanor, but at this moment, she knelt before Sam Noah, completely devoid of her usual haughty attitude, her every word filled with pleading.

Sam Noah looked at her, his gaze showing no pity. “I warned you long ago, but you refused to listen. If you had known this day would come, why did you act so recklessly? You should know that once I make a decision, I will not change it.”

Tears streamed down  Norah’s face as her voice became hoarse from crying. “Is my brother dead? Tell me, is my brother dead? Sam Noah, he is all I have left. Please give him back to me!”

Sam Noah remained unmoved.  Norah crawled over to Thelma, repeatedly knocking her head on the ground. “I was wrong, I was wrong, I was wrong.” After knocking her head three times,  Norah hugged Thelma’s legs, saying, “Noah listens to you the most. Please help me plead with him. I truly know I was wrong. I will never harm you again. Please help me!”

Thelma was truly surprised by  Norah’s transformation. Her change was too drastic. Before this, she was the kind of person who would stop at nothing to achieve her goals, colluding with her brother to deal with her, fearless and reckless. In the blink of an eye, she had become so disheveled, completely disregarding her dignity, kneeling and begging her.

What had happened during her days of unconsciousness?

Sam Noah signaled the bodyguards to pull her away. The bodyguards stepped forward to separate  Norah, and Sam Noah added, “Your brother will not be coming back. Everyone must pay the price for their mistakes. You made a mistake, and this is the punishment you deserve.”

“No! No! Sam Noah, please! Give me back my brother! I promise I won’t show up here again. I will go far away with him. Just give him back to me! Please!”

She cried out hoarsely, as if she was about to suffocate from her sobs.
