The Love She Never Saw Coming – Chapter 187

She was afraid others would find out about her relationship with Sam Noah, so every time they met, it was in his car, and he would have someone drive around the school. Yet, despite this, rumors about her began to circulate in school, saying she was being kept by someone. However, Thelma didn’t care at all.

Days passed like this, and she kept herself busy. She didn’t want to see him or the child, so she avoided him whenever possible.

One night, she returned from the library, walking through a small grove of trees. There was no one around, and it was very quiet. The serene environment calmed her heart, and she sat down to smoke a cigarette.

Just as she lit it and took a puff, a hand reached over and unceremoniously took it away from her. She looked up to see a tall man standing beside her, his expression not looking good.

“What are you doing here?”

“When did this start?”

“It has nothing to do with you.”

After Thelma finished speaking, she turned to leave, but as soon as she turned, her wrist was grabbed. She heard the man behind her say, “Today is Tyler’s first birthday. Aren’t you going back to spend time with him?”

One year old… Time really flies.

The child was already one year old, yet he still hadn’t come to terms with it and didn’t want to divorce her.

Thelma shook off his hand, not looking back, and coldly said, “I told you, he has nothing to do with me. He is your child, not mine.”

As soon as she finished speaking, the man suddenly hugged her from behind. Thelma caught a whiff of alcohol on him.

His warmth and the smell of alcohol hit her all at once, making her feel like she was suffocating. It was as if she had been stabbed, and she hurriedly struggled free, stepping back a few paces. Frowning, she glared at him, “What are you doing? Why are you hugging me?”

He stepped closer to her, a steady and imposing man, his aura so strong that even the night couldn’t hide it. Yet, he spoke in a hoarse, almost pleading voice, “I miss you, Thelma. I really miss you.”

Thelma turned away, not wanting to see his expression. “Just go. I don’t want to see you again.” After saying that, she hurriedly left, not knowing what happened to him afterward.

From that moment on, she avoided him even more, not wanting to see him or the child again, and she hardly ever returned home. In the blink of an eye, she graduated. She had no plans for further studies and began looking for a job after graduation.

However, finding a job was not easy. For a month, she faced constant rejections.

That day, she had just come out of a small studio after a failed interview. She hadn’t even eaten breakfast before going for the interview, and now she was so hungry that she bought a sandwich from a nearby bakery.

Across from the bakery was a tall building with a large LED screen, which was broadcasting news. The Sam Corporation had completed a new round of acquisition plans and was officially entering the film and television industry.

At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, that man walked up the red carpet surrounded by a crowd. Countless elites followed him, but even among them, he stood out, dressed in a suit, handsome and charming.

The representative from the film and television company he was collaborating with walked beside him. She was a woman with a high ponytail, also in a suit, striding confidently in high heels, capable and elegant.

The two walked side by side on the red carpet, and after the ribbon-cutting, they posed for a photo together.

Thelma looked at that man, and though separated by a screen, it felt like a galaxy apart. This man was her husband; he was so outstanding, truly outstanding.

The people standing beside him should be as capable as that woman.

Only equally outstanding women deserved to be with Sam Noah.

Thelma returned home to her sister’s place. For several days, she worked on her resume and sent it out. Most of them sank without a trace, and a few responses were just offers to be a tea girl.

It was really hard for art students to find jobs related to their field unless they were exceptionally talented. As someone who had temporarily switched majors, Thelma was not a standout in her original field, making it difficult to find work.

One day, while she was sending out resumes, her sister came up to tell her that Sam Noah had come to find her.
