But before she could reach the door, it was slammed shut.
Norah pounded on the door, screaming as if she had gone mad, “Sam Noah, let me out! You scoundrel, you pervert! Let me out!” Perhaps the discomfort in her body was growing, her voice became increasingly frantic, “Sam Noah, please, open the door, I promise I won’t do it again.”
Sam Noah, however, seemed to ignore her, instructing the guards outside, “Keep the door and windows secure. Don’t let them out until dawn.”
The guards outside responded in unison, and only then did Sam Noah leave with peace of mind.
As he walked away, Norah’s heart-wrenching cries could still be heard.
“Sam Noah, you killed me! Sam Noah, you killed me!”
Sam Noah arrived at the hospital bed. He didn’t turn on the lights; the room was only illuminated by the faint glow of the medical equipment beside the bed. There was a chair next to the bed, and he walked over and sat down, staring blankly at the person lying there.
Why did it suddenly come to this?
Clearly, just yesterday, she was fine, still holding him and reluctant to let him go, clearly just a moment ago, she was still acting spoiled with him.
But why, in the blink of an eye, was she lying there motionless?
As he stared, he didn’t know when a bitter smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.
He had finally married her, yet she didn’t love him. He had finally won her love, but she lay in a coma. Was he truly destined to be a lonely star, doomed to live a life of solitude?

Marco opened the window of the room, letting in fresh air, finally dissipating the ambiguous and suffocating atmosphere inside.
Norah sat on the floor, wearing only a thin dress. She hugged her knees, burying her face in them and crying. She had maintained this position since waking up, and it had been a long time.
Marco looked at her with heartache, but he didn’t dare to approach. He sat on the bed and said to her, “The floor is cold; get up!”
She didn’t respond, still sobbing softly.
“If you don’t want to see me, I’ll leave in a bit.”
She still didn’t answer.
Just then, the door was suddenly pushed open with great force, startling Marco, while Norah, who had been crying on the floor, finally looked up toward the door.
A group of people entered from outside, led by Sam Noah. Upon seeing Sam Noah, Marco recalled the humiliation of the previous day, and his anger flared up instantly. He jumped up and lunged at him, shouting, “Sam Noah, you bastard, I’m going to kill you!”
However, before he could get close, he was subdued by the bodyguards behind Sam Noah.
Sam Noah scanned the faces of the siblings with an expressionless face, sneering, “Looking at your expressions, do you think I’ve gone too far?”
Marco struggled but couldn’t break free, angrily saying, “What more do you want?”
Sam Noah, hands in his pockets, leisurely sized him up and said, “Do you want your sister to live well?”
“What do you mean?”
Sam Noah smiled slightly, “If you want her to live well, that’s fine. I won’t do anything to her, but I don’t want to see you anymore. What will you do about that?”
“That’s enough, Sam Noah!” Norah stood up, her face filled with anger as she confronted him, “You’ve already punished me and my brother like this; what more do you want?!”
“Do you think this is enough? No… this is far from enough.” He lazily took a few steps before stopping, “This is merely a transaction; whether you comply or not is up to you.”
“Then what will you do if we don’t comply?” The question came from Marco.
Sam Noah remained silent, only casting a meaningful glance at Norah. Marco was not foolish; he understood his implication. If he wanted Norah to be safe, he had to obediently follow his instructions, just as he had wanted to eliminate his father without getting his hands dirty back then, and just as he was now forcing his father to make a choice.
Marco clenched his teeth tightly. He looked at Norah, feeling reluctant, but he had no other choice.
“I promise you. Where do you want me to go?”
“You can choose where to go yourself. Of course, you can also choose to end it all like your father. However, I don’t want to see you again, so if you want to survive, you’d better stay far away and never show your face again.”
Marco closed his eyes, his hands clenched into fists at his sides. After a long time, he took a deep breath and turned to look at Norah. He forced a bitter smile, “Take care of yourself.”
