The spokesperson needed to maintain an elegant and intellectual image, and no scandals could arise during the endorsement period; otherwise, they would face a tenfold compensation to the party.

Ava frowned at the tenfold compensation clause. The business manager explained, “Miss Ava, you can see the endorsement fee. Our company is generous, but we also need to impose some restrictions. If you feel you cannot accept this, we are a humane company and will not force you.”

After all, she had no scandals since her debut, and fifty million was enough for her to take on many gigs. Moreover, being the spokesperson for Sam Group raised her profile significantly. Ava gritted her teeth and quickly signed her name.

In the spacious room, a long sofa was placed on the far left side. At that moment, Sam Noah was sitting on the sofa, reading a book under a bright desk lamp.

Thelma had just finished applying her face mask and lay on the sofa, resting her head on Sam Noah’s thigh. Thinking about Sharon’s ordeal, she still felt angry. She said to Sam Noah, “Do you think those people will escape legal punishment? Will heaven punish them? As the saying goes, good and evil will be rewarded in the end; the heavens have their ways of making things right.”

Sam Noah flipped through the pages of his book without raising his eyelids, saying, “The idea of good and evil being rewarded is just a self-comforting excuse. There are no such illusions in this world. Fate is in everyone’s hands; only you can help yourself.”

Thelma sat up and looked at the man in front of her. He leaned back against the chair, his long fingers holding the book, flipping through it leisurely. His tone had a lazy indifference, yet it somehow conveyed a sense of confident determination. He was the kind of man who didn’t believe in fate or the supernatural, believing only in taking control of his own destiny.

Thelma thought he was incredibly handsome and charming.

Sam Noah looked at her, only to find her staring at him with a silly smile while biting her lip. Seeing her expression, he felt as if he had been scalded. He turned his head away and lightly coughed, asking, “What’s wrong?” He gestured to his thigh with his eyes, “Aren’t you going to lie down?”

Thelma cupped his face with both hands and turned it to face her. His brow furrowed slightly, but it didn’t diminish his handsomeness. His body fat percentage was low, so the contours of his face were very pronounced. His deep-set eyes were soft and gentle.

He was truly too good-looking.

Sam Noah felt puzzled. She was just holding his face and staring at him, wearing a mischievous smile, and he had no idea what she was thinking.

Feeling a bit uncomfortable under her gaze, he didn’t want to show his discomfort too obviously, so he simply wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her onto his lap, asking, “What do you see in my face? Are there flowers growing on it?”

Thelma finally came back to her senses. She felt she was becoming more and more infatuated, occasionally getting lost in his face. She didn’t know how she had become like this; she wasn’t the type of girl who would be a lovesick fool.

Thelma quickly shook her head to compose herself and said, “Alright, alright, I won’t disturb you from reading anymore.”

She was about to get off him, but he held her tightly, not letting go. Thelma looked at him with questioning eyes, and Sam Noah pulled her closer, asking, “Where are you going?”

His face was so close that she could feel his breath brushing against her nose as he spoke, and with that magnetic voice, he asked her, making it all the more tempting.

Thelma swallowed hard, trying to maintain her composure as she said, “I’m a bit hungry, I want to get something to eat.”

Only then did Sam Noah release her. Thelma was gone for just a moment before returning with a noddles in her hand. Sam Noah stared blankly at the noddles she was holding.

Why is it noddles again?

Thelma sat down beside him, scooping the noddles with a spoon to eat. Sam Noah half-closed his fist and lightly coughed, asking her, “Is the noddles good?”

Without thinking, Thelma nodded.

Sam Noah couldn’t help but stare at her, watching as the smooth, soft noddles was slurped into her mouth. Suddenly, an image flashed in his mind of that night when he had bitten her lips as if they were noddles, and he felt a bit hot.

Seeing him staring at her, Thelma asked, “Do you want some?”

Sam Noah replied, “Not this flavor.”

“How about a peach flavor? Do you want that?”

“No.”

“Then what flavor do you want?”
