After Mira went upstairs, Thelma first found Connor, but before she could speak, Connor pointed her towards the reception room.
Thelma cursed under her breath and walked to the reception room door, knocking lightly. A voice responded from inside, and when Thelma pushed the door open, she indeed saw Jones Calvin inside.
“Hello, Boss Thelma!” He still bowed politely at a ninety-degree angle.
Thelma forced a smile, “Mr. Jones, what brings you here?”
“I’ve composed a new piece. Would Boss Thelma like to listen? I guarantee you’ll be satisfied!”
Even if she was satisfied, she didn’t want to invite trouble.
Thelma politely said, “I’m really sorry, Mr. Jones, but our studio is already at full capacity. We’re too busy just taking on Mira’s work, so we really can’t manage anything else. I still have work to do, so please go back, Mr. Jones.”
After saying that, Thelma went straight back to her office, locked the door, and figured that the little ancestor outside would feel embarrassed to stay there without anyone to talk to.
Jones Calvin felt a bit deflated, realizing he had made a wasted trip again. Just as he was about to leave, he received a phone call. He picked it up and heard someone on the other end say, “I saw her go in. Did you see her?”
At that moment, Jones Calvin had already walked out of the reception room. He scanned the studio but didn’t see her. He looked towards the stairs at the back, pondered for a moment, hung up the phone, and walked over.
Mira had just finished her shower and was about to rest when she heard a knock on the door. Thinking it was someone from the studio, she didn’t think much of it and opened the door, only to see a boy wearing a baseball cap standing at the entrance. As the door opened, the boy slowly raised his head.
Mira frowned, but she saw the boy staring intently at her, smirking, “Hey, it’s been a long time. Do you still recognize me?”
Mira was about to call for help, but before she could speak, he quickly slipped inside and shut the door behind him. Mira coldly asked, “What do you want?”
“If I said I came to apologize, would you believe me?”
“You don’t need to apologize to me. Get out right now.”
“Sorry, I was wrong.”
“……”
Mira frowned. To be honest, his apology did surprise her. That pampered second-generation heir, Jones Calvin, actually apologized to her.
Mira even suspected he was joking with her. She scrutinized his expression; he seemed very sincere, without sarcasm or mockery. He was genuinely apologizing to her.
However, Mira turned her head away, her expression still cold. “Just leave.”
Jones Calvin’s eyes showed a hint of hurt. He hurriedly asked, “Can you forgive me? I’ve been looking for you all these years.”
Mira felt very tired. Her mind was filled with images of that man, holding a little girl, standing next to a woman.
“Get out. I’m very tired!”
As soon as she finished speaking, Jones Calvin seemed to lose control. He suddenly pulled her into his arms, his tone filled with agitation, “I’m sorry, I really know I was wrong. I didn’t understand back then and did many things that hurt you. Can I make it up to you slowly in the future? I’m sorry, Mira. I’ve been looking for you for years.”
Mira felt as if she had been stabbed. She pushed him away suddenly, her face filled with disbelief. She had never expected Jones Calvin to suddenly lunge at her and hug her. She didn’t know what kind of madness he was experiencing.
Mira felt a bit scared. She opened the door and ran downstairs. Thelma and the others heard the commotion and hurried out to see Mira rushing down the stairs in a panic, with Jones Calvin closely following behind her.
“Quick, stop him! He’s harassing me!”
Thelma, Phoenix, and Connor all looked at each other in confusion: “??????”
Connor reacted quickly. He called security to come up, and Thelma hurriedly asked, “What’s going on?”
“Um… don’t panic. I know her.”
“Know her?” Jones Calvin’s words surprised Thelma. She turned to Mira, “Do you know him?”
“I know him, but I’m not familiar with him.”
The security acted quickly. Connor directed them to subdue Jones Calvin first, then turned to Thelma and said, “Call the police!”
“Call the police?” Phoenix clearly disagreed, “Both of them are public figures. It wouldn’t be good if this blew up, right?”
Connor, however, was very firm: “Call the police.”
Thelma trusted Connor’s crisis management skills and immediately took out her phone to call the police. The police arrived shortly after, and it was then that Thelma learned from Mira what had happened between her and Jones Calvin.
