The Love She Never Saw Coming – Chapter 121

Courage

“I’ll have Aunt Hope pick him up.”

So, they were going to leave the little one behind and go off alone? Thelma felt a bit guilty about this, but the idea of going to the hot springs was really tempting, not just because of the terrible weather but because it meant going with Sam Noah.

The misty steam, the two of them in thin clothes in the hot spring pool… the sound of his heavy breathing in her ears… Thelma quickly shook her head, wondering why she was thinking about such things.

The hot springs were located in the south of the city, where several hot spring pools had been contracted out, creating a resort. The hot springs were indoors and right inside the private room. The room was furnished with tables and chairs for dining, and next to the hot spring pool, there was a bedroom for guests to rest, taking relaxation to the extreme.

The two planned to eat first. Thelma ordered a couple of simple dishes, and the restaurant even provided a bottle of liquor. Thelma poured herself a glass and took a sip; it was a bit spicy.

“It’s not as good as what my sister brews,” Thelma said with some disdain, pushing it aside.

Sam Noah finished eating first and went to the bathroom to change into the hot spring attire provided by the restaurant. While he was changing, Thelma took the opportunity to down the entire bottle of liquor.

When Sam Noah finished changing and Thelma also went to change, she didn’t expect that although the liquor was not good, it had quite a kick. After changing, she came out feeling a bit dizzy.

Thelma slipped into the hot spring pool, the water just reaching her chest. The warm sensation seeped into every pore, making her shiver with comfort. Sam Noah leaned against the edge of the pool across from her. He was much taller than her, and the water only reached his waist, his long arms lazily resting on the edge, smiling at her.

He wore a very thin robe, and as the water rippled, the robe opened slightly, faintly revealing the toned muscles underneath. The steam blurred his features, but it couldn’t hide his handsomeness.

Dressed so simply, he still exuded charm, especially when he looked at her like that. He smiled, but his eyes were deep and inscrutable, exuding a powerful aura, yet he was so gentle.

The alcohol was fermenting in her system, and as Thelma gazed at the man across from her, she felt her heart start to race. Originally, she thought alcohol would give her courage, but now she realized she had gone a bit too far; she actually felt an impulse to leap over to him.

No, no!

Thelma wanted to clear her head. She held her breath and dove into the water, but Sam Noah, not knowing what was wrong with her, was startled when he saw her suddenly dive underwater. Instinctively, he leaned over and pulled her up from the water.

His arm wrapped around her waist, and he was so strong that lifting her was effortless. The clip in her hair slipped off with the movement, and her long hair fell heavily, wet and cascading over her shoulders. Her robe also slipped down, revealing a fair, smooth shoulder. It was then that Sam Noah noticed she wasn’t wearing a bra.

He gasped and quickly turned his face away, helping her pull her clothes back up.

She had originally wanted to stop herself from leaping onto him, but how did he end up coming to her instead? His body was incredibly solid, and his shoulders were much broader than hers. Her frame was naturally small, and compared to him, she appeared even more petite.

She looked up at him, only to see him slightly furrowing his brows, his expression somewhat heavy. Yet even like this, he was still so handsome. No matter how he looked, he was just so good-looking.

Not only that, but he treated her so well, really well. He helped her out of difficult situations, supported her success, was gentle with her, and even gave her such a lovely child.

She really liked him, truly liked him.

Thelma couldn’t help but tighten her embrace around his waist.
She wanted to tell him her feelings, something she had wanted to express for a long time, but she lacked the courage. It was impossible; her husband truly had an overwhelming presence that kept her firmly in place. She didn’t even dare to act mischievously towards him, even though she had many naughty thoughts she wanted to share.

At first, Thelma resolved to be the best mother she could be, determined to care for her child. But over time, something else changed. Her husband, with his striking good looks, wealth, and unwavering affection, proved impossible to resist.
