The Love She Never Saw Coming – Chapter 103

Clarify

Adaline and Norah walked up, and Adaline politely greeted Sam Noah, “Hello, Mr. Sam. I didn’t expect to have such a pleasant chat with Mrs. Sam that I forgot about the main event. I hope Mr. Sam won’t mind that I’ve taken up so much of your time.”

Sam Noah looked at Norah, his expression somewhat cold, “What are you doing here?”

Norah shrugged innocently, “Someone sent me an invitation to the banquet, so I came.”

Everyone could see that Sam Noah’s expression soured when he saw Norah, which was quite fitting for a man caught cheating when his proper wife appeared.

Adaline and Ava exchanged knowing smiles.

However, at this moment, “Mrs. Sam” was still unaware that the woman standing beside her was her husband’s mistress, and it was Ava’s turn to clarify the truth.

So Ava timely said, “Mrs. Sam, please don’t misunderstand. My stepsister isn’t very sensible and tends to act a bit recklessly. She probably doesn’t know that Mr. Sam is already married, which is why she’s been so close to him.”

After saying this, she meaningfully directed her gaze at Thelma.

Originally, Sam Noah’s appearance was already eye-catching, and with Ava’s loud voice, her words seemed to have drawn the attention of those around them, who were now subtly looking over, sensing a juicy gossip.

Ava’s words were rather too deliberate; suddenly bringing her into the conversation was one thing, but while pretending to apologize to “Mrs. Sam,” she was actually trying to make that “Mrs. Sam” misunderstand that she was Sam Noah’s “mistress,” wasn’t she?

But how did these two come to think that Norah was Sam Noah’s wife?

Thelma couldn’t be bothered to correct them; she just wanted to quietly watch Ava continue to make a fool of herself in front of Sam Noah.

As soon as Ava finished speaking, Chris was also taken aback. He pulled Thelma and scolded, “Thelma, what’s wrong with you? Mr. Sam is already married, how could you do something like this?”

Susan chimed in, “Yeah, Thelma, your father is unwell. Are you trying to give him a heart attack?” After saying this, she turned to Norah, “Mrs. Sam, I’m really sorry. Thelma has been spoiled since she was little; she probably doesn’t even know that Mr. Sam is married.”

Ava also turned to Sam Noah, “Mr. Sam, my stepsister is quite confused about relationships and often makes such silly mistakes. Please don’t hold it against her…”

Before Ava could finish her sentence, Sam Noah shot her a cold glare, his icy and sharp gaze making Ava feel as if she had been struck by a knife in the wind, swallowing her unfinished words.

However, although Ava didn’t finish her sentence, her intention was already clear: she wanted Sam Noah to see that she didn’t love him at all, but rather that she was just a person who was confused about relationships, hence she “often makes such silly mistakes,” hoping he would open his eyes.

Chris’s expression darkened significantly, worry evident in his brows and eyes. He sternly said to Thelma, “Aren’t you going to apologize to Mr. Sam and Mrs. Sam?!”

Susan also looked serious, sighing, “Thelma, how can you be so thoughtless? Not only did you not go home to see your father, but you also did something like this outside. Where do you think you’re putting your father’s face?”

Phoenix and Mira had been following Thelma closely. Hearing the others’ accusations, Phoenix couldn’t hold back her anger any longer. Initially, she thought it was someone else’s family matter and didn’t want to interfere, but seeing Thelma being treated this way, as a friend, she felt she had to step in and say a few words. Mira noticed her intention and grabbed her.

Phoenix looked at her, but Mira smiled and said, “The best part is yet to come! Just wait, our boss won’t be wronged.”

Seeing her so confident, Phoenix hesitated and withdrew her hand.

Sam Noah could no longer listen. He let out a cold laugh and said, “When did my Sam Noah’s people become someone else’s to teach a lesson?”

His domineering words carried a bone-chilling coldness, and those who had been scolding Thelma were suddenly silenced, not daring to utter a word.

Sam Noah then turned to Norah, “Tell them, you are Mrs. Sam.”
