The Alpha’s Secret Mate – Chapter 111

Entice

“Fine… I notice everyone is staring at me.” Molly whispered.

Naomi hummed to herself and jerked her chin to the side. “Come with me, there’s something you should see.”

Molly set aside her partially consumed plate and followed Naomi down the snow-covered path. She led her to the very end of the row of cabins and motioned for Molly to stay quiet. Molly pursed her lips and cautiously traversed the snow. Naomi silently instructed her to listen before she turned and ascended the path without further comment.

What on earth was she supposed to be listening for? Molly nearly turned to pursue her until she discerned the voices.

“…and that is not my purpose for being here,” remarked a deep voice. Jayce’s vocalisation? Whom was he addressing? What did any of this have to do with her-

“We never know what we want until we see it.” A female voice said, her tone low with a drop of l**t. “Allow me to assist you in achieving relaxation…”

“You said you had information on Life Pharmacy.” Prince Jayce snapped. Molly approached the door and focused intently to listen further.

“I articulate numerous statements, yet I present you with a fleeting reprieve from all the tension.” She perceived the creaking of a bed, as though someone had just taken a seat upon it. Molly felt a surge of revulsion in her stomach.

“Enter and dismantle her! She is enticing our partner!” the voice screamed within her. Molly had to restrain her breath to avoid gasping at the abrupt noise. A surge of jealousy blossomed within her chest. Who was this young woman? Is this the location to which he departed in the morning?

It is not necessary for her to be concerned. They held no significance for one another; her wolf was mistaken. Her desire to hear any of this was misguided.

“I am not interested in your proposal. I sought information,” Jayce growled. Molly heard his stomping near the door and quickly crouched beside the cabin, near the windows that were too elevated for her to see through, yet ideal for concealment.

“Pause! Are you not yet weary of that servant? As a prince, you have access to any woman you desire. There is no need for you to compromise with her.” It appeared as though the woman rose once more. Fleeter footsteps hastened in pursuit of his. “I shall remain silent if you do.”

Molly experienced an overwhelming impulse to enter and asphyxiate the girl until she turned blue. Her wolf resonated in approval of her sinister thoughts.

“Should you touch me again, I will sever your arm and offer it to my horses. You are fortunate that I refrain from such an act solely due to your deceit and manipulation.”

Jayce forcefully opened the door, causing it to collide with the cabin wall. He emerged into the snow, while Molly leaned over the edge to observe him as he shut his eyes and breathed in. She swiftly departed from the cabin before he could trample through the snow and ascertain her precise location. He knew her scent well.

Molly took the back way up to the main area again and tried to hurry. Upon her arrival, she was slightly breathless, and Jayce was already present. Positioned at a rear table with Beckham and several other guards, his gaze immediately located her, but she averted her eyes before he could notice her observing him.

Naomi enquired softly as she approached Molly, “Did you locate what you required?”

Molly ingested. “I am uncertain.”

Molly endeavoured to avert her gaze, resisting the impulse to seek the girl whose voice sought to entice Jayce into her bed. However, she appeared unable to concentrate on anything else. Her wolf incessantly murmured in her ear regarding the woman, yet she remained uncertain about the reason for her concern. It was not her concern what he engaged in with others. Her purpose for this trip was solely to serve him. Nevertheless, her curiosity overwhelmed her, resulting in a complete day wasted in the cold.

Molly lingered around the main camp where everyone spent most of their time catching up with each other before they went on with their days. She observed the exchange of gossip and the distribution of warm beverages, yet none possessed that particular voice. None of them extended an invitation for her to accompany them. She believed she was not fully liked or trusted here, and she did not hold any resentment towards them for it. She also found it difficult to trust anyone.

Jayce departed with Beckham and Colton and has not uttered a word to her since the previous day. Why did he consistently induce a sense of wrongdoing in her? She did not, she reminded herself. She committed no wrongdoing.

Molly merely sought to identify the girl; she had no intention of dismantling her, despite the fervent desires of her inner wolf. A perverse aspect of her desired to witness what was presented to Jayce.

After hours in the cold, she finally heard it.

“There!” her wolf spat. Molly straightened her posture and grasped her drink, which had long since cooled. A slender, tall woman with lengthy blonde hair walked past her accompanied by a man. Their heads were inclined towards each other in dialogue, and she instantly recognised the voice. “What actions will you take against her for attempting to entice our partner?”

"Alpha Prince, stop this madness! Can’t you see all I want is to leave this place, to be free of these suffocating walls and your overbearing presence? Do you think that just because fate bound us as mates, it gives you the right to claim dominion over me and this palace? You’re mistaken—horribly mistaken. You may call yourself a Prince, but your crown means nothing here. This is my domain, and the only place you’ll ever remain is beneath me, forever shackled by your arrogance and blinded by your pride."
