“Why do I consistently attract the possessive type who cannot relinquish control?” she murmured.
Brianna exhaled, “Obtain some rest.” “There is little we can do; we must simply wait and observe, I suppose,” she remarked before standing and exiting the room, uncertain of how long it would take Carlos to locate her.
Brianna quickly deduced that Stella had utilised her passport and credit cards to arrive, making it probable that Carlos could trace her through those means.
Her and Logan’s passports were registered under Dieng, rendering them difficult to trace; however, his continued pursuit of her was irrational. It was evident that his Alpha Wolf resented being denied.
Her gaze landed on Logan watching television, and she contemplated whether there was an ulterior motive behind his pursuit of her. They had been surveilling her at the store; who could assert that they had not observed the boy? Repressed that notion. It was improbable, and Ryder would not wish to disturb his new Mate either.
Ryder’s Perspective
Upon their arrival in Olympia, both he and Nolan were dissatisfied with the prevailing circumstances. He possessed a mate whose scent eluded him and a son with her, and they were currently evading him, or Alpha Nathan. The latter had threatened to sever her from her child, prompting her to flee across the Pacific Ocean.
Nolan foolishly asserted ownership over a human girl who was unaware of their bond as Mate and had fled from him, crossing the Pacific Ocean to be with her employer. Who was his fugitive mate, thus her Luna, provided Ryder could resolve this troublesome situation, which he was resolute in accomplishing.
Ryder possessed a mate bestowed by the goddess, and he intended to claim her as soon as possible; he was also aware that this was Aiden’s desire. Both desired their Mate, and it was exasperatingly frustrating that the moon goddess would subject them to this predicament, permitting them to have a Mate they could not perceive while enabling her to identify him, thereby inflicting significant anguish upon her, the reason for which he could not comprehend.
It was indeed cruel.
Upon tracking Stella’s credit card and discovering her purchase of a plane ticket to Toronto to pursue Brianna, Ryder contemplated their relationship once more, questioning the depth of their connection. It is possible that the moon goddess deemed it appropriate to unite them. They both experienced similar male-related issues. Lack of trust, having been wounded without personal culpability, leads to avoidance of that anguish.
The quartet entered Wolf Airlines, where the she-wolf at the front desk greeted him and his companions with a smile, stating, “Alpha Ryder, please proceed directly to the lounge.”
She gestured for them to enter through a substantial pair of double doors, and they proceeded into the exclusive lounge owned by Westley and Terence. Stood on a loft platform that overlooked the lounge.
The expansive room featured a dozen dark wood tables accompanied by six comfortable white leather chairs each. The carpet was black, and the bar, where West and Terence were engaged in conversation, was staffed by a male wolf clad in pack colours. The bar spanned at least 16 feet and was lined with bar stools, fully stocked with an extensive array of alcoholic beverages.
Upon descending the stairs into the lounge, they encountered a substantial multi-tiered modern chandelier adorned with circular crystal droplets suspended at irregular angles. Scattered throughout the room were Minimalist-style circular two-tiered chandeliers that corresponded with the one suspended by the stairs. These fixtures appeared more aligned with his father’s aesthetic than West’s. Although the business belonged to West, it was evident that his father had applied his architectural expertise to create a lavish design for his son.
He may have that man design Brianna’s new store in Helena upon her return.
The far end of the room featured large windows that overlooked his actual airport hangars, where his planes were stationed at the gates. Ryder observed West’s white jet on the tarmac, awaiting their arrival. Gratefully, he recognised that his alliance with this man, whom he envisioned as his saviour, was fortuitous.
Observed as both West and Terence turned to watch them descend the stairs, leaned away from the bar and extended a hand to him as he approached. He extended an offer of a drink to him and his companions. Subsequent to the completion of the meet and greet.
Ryder accepted the beverage, as he could genuinely benefit from it. His entire life is currently in disarray. Consumed a sip of the 20-year-old single malt scotch whisky and exhaled, as expected, West procured the finest selection. The man seldom consumed alcohol; I have never observed him drink more than a single glass of any beverage, typically merely swirling his drink without actually consuming it. He had never enquired as to the reason, presumably due to a lack of curiosity.
Enquired about their well-being, Terence beamed, as his triplets were expected within the month. West was expecting a puppy, which would arrive in a few months, and he was informed that it would be a male. I was pleased about that. His new younger siblings, twin boys, arrived a few weeks ago, and he expressed his delight at having brothers instead of sisters, chuckling about it.
