The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 74

Companion

“Did you not attempt to halt her?”Nolan snarled at Enzo, who merely shrugged while observing Nolan return to the room to don his trousers. She had not been Marked and was entirely unaware of her significance to him, prompting her to flee as any bewildered individual might.

They departed immediately after Nolan donned his trousers, disregarding any other preparations, and located her outside, on the verge of entering a vehicle.

“Sienna,” Nolan exclaimed, “Do not attempt to depart; you belong to me now.” They were positioned approximately 20 yards apart, and she had entered the vehicle, securing the doors.

“I do not belong to you,” she retorted, “nor to anyone.” She appeared irritated by the man’s assertion that she was his, “and I will not disclose Brianna’s whereabouts, regardless of how many times you attempt to entice me into revealing it.”

“You have already informed me,” he noted, detecting the amusement in Nolan’s tone. “This occurred while you were in a semi-conscious state, darling.”

Her eyes filled with anger almost immediately, and she shouted at him, “Stay the hell away from me,” before hastily departing down the estate driveway.

Enzo seized the man as he audibly gasped in agony. “No,” he exclaimed, grasping his chest.

“It is not a rejection, Nolan; she merely lacks comprehension.” “You executed this in reverse.” Enzo attempted to comfort him.

They observed her departure from the estate, heard Nolan’s wolf, Oscar, emit a furious snarl, and then he vanished at full wolf speed, sprinting across the estate, a powerful snarl escaping him as she exited the grounds.

Both he and his wolf, Axle, simultaneously uttered an expletive and pursued the creature. At that moment, it was Oscar, not Nolan, whose wolf was on the verge of emerging to assert dominance over her in full wolf form. The unfortunate human woman remained oblivious to his true nature, as Nolan’s beast was struggling to cope with her departure.

They ascended the 12-foot wall effortlessly, prompting him and Axle to pursue him urgently. The foolish man and his animal intended to terrify her or induce a complete rejection in the woman. Upon hearing the initial crow of his shift, he vociferously cursed as he witnessed Oscar, Nolan Wolf, extricate himself from him, now fully empowered to assert his ownership.

Observed his sizable silver wolf emerge from the forest and enter the centre of the road she was traversing, having successfully positioned itself in front of her vehicle, utilising its full speed. The man’s beast, indifferent to onlookers, noticed her car’s brakes screeching on the road and turned his gaze towards her, observing a visibly astonished Stella gazing down the road at Oscar as the wolf approached her vehicle.

Oscar was a sizable wolf, at least double the dimensions of an ordinary wolf, and his vivid green eyes were fixed on Stella in her vehicle, his mate, who was attempting to flee from him.

Enzo propelled himself directly towards Oscar as he circled to the side of her vehicle. It was evident that he desired his Mate and intended to assert his claim over her irrespective of the repercussions. He collided with Oscar and forcefully pushed him away from the car, exclaiming, ‘Enough, you’re frightening her,’ as they communicated through the mind-link to both Nolan and his beast. Overwhelming their Aura in an attempt to restrain him.

“Mine,” Oscar retorted sharply. Enzo grappled with Oscar on the roadside. The wolf, exhibiting aggression with bared fangs and extended claws, commanded, “Drive,” as Stella remained immobilised, staring in utter disbelief at the scene before her. “Go,” he bellowed moments later, alongside Axle.

Nolan needed to separate her from Oscar and would have to address the situation later, when he was composed and his primal instincts were subdued.

Observed her accelerate the engine and depart rapidly while he endeavoured to retain his grip on Oscar, restraining the beast by the neck and forcing it to the ground, Axle exerting his full wolfen strength, surpassing his Delta Rank and drawing upon his Gamma lineage to subdue the man. Positively, they were blood brothers and their strength was equivalent. He could restrain him until she had distanced herself sufficiently to be secure from Oscar.

He restrained the wolf, imploring it to release and calm down, asserting that it was not a rejection and that they could rectify the situation. He was aware of her residence and workplace, emphasising that this was neither the appropriate time nor place for such a confrontation, on the roadside of the human world where passersby could witness their struggle.

Engaged in a protracted struggle with the wolf for approximately ten minutes, ultimately managing to force it into the tree line. I was grateful for the early hour, as I preferred to avoid the necessity of explaining the incident to humans or their Alpha, particularly if it were to be captured on film and disseminated widely.

Ultimately, he retrieved Nolan and glared at his elder brother, expressing his irritation, “Observe the damage you inflicted,” he murmured to Nolan, gesturing towards the numerous bite and claw marks adorning his arms and torso. His damaged suit as well.

Nolan sighed, apologising as he gazed at the work of his wolf.

“Hurry up, you are completely naked on the roadside, foolish individual.” Nolan walked back to their rental car, changed into casual, non-bloodstained attire, and utilised the emergency patch kit they always carried for such situations to tend to his bloody wounds while Axle administered healing. “Remain here, you imbecile,” Enzo murmured as he returned to the estate.

They had not anticipated Stella departing from Nolan, and although he had donned his trousers, he had abandoned all other belongings in that room. Exited the room with Nolan’s possessions, only to encounter Miguel ambling down the hallway, a self-satisfied expression on his face. “She absconded, did she not?” She will return to me.
