The new store was almost complete; I had conversed with Paul, the building contractor, merely two days prior, and everything was on schedule. There were a few minor setbacks, but nothing Paul had not anticipated and managed effectively. He was quite competent. Stella was also eager for a change of environment, as well as an encounter with Canadian men. She smiled to herself, contemplating that perhaps Mr Right was indeed Canadian, which could explain why she had yet to meet him.
“Sienna, darling.” It was her father, BBraxton Jenkins, an advertising magnate. He grasped her hand, saying, “Join me on the dance floor.” He led her onto the dance floor. At 60 years old, he appeared to be around 50, maintaining his health and fitness with the assistance of a personal trainer, a dietitian, and a chef to ensure proper nutrition.
“Yes, father.” She smiled at him, though the smile lacked authenticity; she had already observed him with Miguel after she declined to dance with the man approximately ten minutes prior. They had both been gazing directly at her, and she had not appreciated the atmosphere, having experienced it before.
Miguel is eager to dance with you, Sienna.
“He has transformed,” he stated serenely, while guiding her across the dance floor.
“I strongly question the notion that a father who has cheated will always cheat.”
He glared at her, his face betraying disapproval of her loudly articulated remarks.
“He remains inclined to marry you, despite your coarse language.”
“Is he? I am certain that his date is present.” She abruptly turned to him, reminding her father that the man had a current girlfriend who was visibly present.
He remained unchanged, desiring to have it all. “I would be interested to hear that. She appears to believe he is entirely hers.”
“He will abandon her for you; he is merely indulging in his desires while you are absent.” Stella scoffed, “For you, you mean, for the benefits he will derive from it.” She did not believe for an instant that Miguel genuinely desired her; he merely sought the advantages of marrying her for her father’s connections.
“Cease that, Sienna; he will execute a prenuptial agreement and remain faithful to you. I have already conferred with him and draughted the prenup.”
She glared at him. “I recommend you destroy it. I have already informed you that I am relocating to Canada in a month and that I will never marry him; he is a despicable man.” She freed herself from her father’s grasp and turned to leave, only to confront Miguel directly.
He smiled at her as he grasped both her hands and began to dance. “Now, Sienna, you must forgive me; return home. I was young and I acknowledge my foolishness.” His voice was gentle and persuasive. “Abandon this folly and return to me; it is where you belong.”
Stella attempted to extricate herself from him, but unlike her father, who had released her, she now understood the reason: Miguel had been present to seize her.
Miguel was unwilling to relinquish his hold. His grip on her hands was intense, bordering on painful, she recognised.
“I am disinterested; release me,” she asserted.
“The agreement is nearly finalised, Sienna; cease your childishness and marry me at once,” he declared, exuding arrogance and confidence.
“Childish?” she retorted in an irate whisper, attempting to avoid drawing attention at her sister’s wedding. “I’m not the one who was caught red-handed.”
“Oh, that,” he said, rolling his eyes. “It was an isolated incident. It will not recur.”
“You are correct; it will not occur, as I will not return to you.” She forcefully stomped on his foot, eliciting a gasp from him as he instinctively released his grip, glaring at her. Stella remained indifferent and walked away. They would not coerce her into a marriage alliance.
She was traversing the dance floor when she spotted Mr. Scrumptious and another individual from the frequent visits to Brianna’s store. Both were attired in suits and ties, blending seamlessly with the crowd, yet their notable height and muscularity made them distinctly prominent.
Carlos’s Perspective
Luca provided extensive information regarding the Jenkins family. Notably, the young Miss Stella hails from a prosperous family in Denver and was raised in a substantial estate.
She attended a private all-girls school, pursued a university education, and obtained a business degree. At the age of 23, she relocated across the country and began working for Brianna Layla, or thereabouts.
She was probably accustomed to interacting with affluent, arrogant, and narcissistic men prior to her arrival in Colorado. He was investigating the reasons for her abrupt departure, noting that all her sisters resided in Denver.
The flight was lengthy, affording him ample time. Enzo lay reclined, dozing. The indolent individual had advised him to investigate his own dilemma, yet a smirk adorned his face; he took pleasure in informing their mother that Nolan had failed to enchant a human woman, who had reacted with ire the moment he attempted to employ his Gamma Charm, subsequently escorting him out of the store where she was employed.
His parents had admonished him within moments, asserting that the girl was likely his destined Mate and that he must return to ascertain the truth. At 35 years old and still un-mated, he was a significant disappointment to them. Enzo, on the other hand, had been mated since the age of 18, having wed his high school sweetheart—a fortunate individual who had already fathered two children for his mother to indulge.
