The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 62

“That is indeed your issue.” Subsequently, the call was terminated. She exhibited considerable obstinacy, reminiscent of Brianna. It is unsurprising that they shared a rapport.

“Luca, gather all pertinent information regarding Sienna Evans from Denver.” He dialled Nolan’s number and awaited connection, which occurred swiftly. “Hey Ryder, what’s going on?”

“Brianna has departed. Nathan intimidated her. Stella is in Denver. Would you be interested in another partner with her?”

“I would love it.” He discerned not only the smile in the man’s voice but also an unmistakable sense of determination.

“Retrieve her. She is attending her sister’s wedding,” he communicated the home number for Nolan to trace it to an address. “I grant you permission to captivate that woman, or employ any other means necessary, to obtain information regarding Brianna’s whereabouts; she went to Stella’s residence and subsequently disappeared.”

“Thus, you are wagering that Stella is aware of her location.”

“Indeed, I would wager all my possessions on it,” he concurred. “Inform me when you acquire the information.”

“I will comply.”

He contemplated the situation, speculating on the lengths to which the woman might go to escape one or two Alphas. He pondered the nature of Nathan’s threats that compelled her to seek out Logan and return to his pack. It was evident that she appeared discontented.

His son had not either.

Contacted the individual and enquired about that matter.

The man’s response incited complete fury, mirrored by Aiden, who growled at the implication of separating her from her son. The situation was entirely unacceptable, explaining the woman’s hasty departure into the night. Nathan’s assurance that he had no intention of following through with the threat did little to alleviate Aiden’s anger; he was aware that Brianna would not take the risk and would accompany him instead.

“Do not intervene if you intend to threaten her or my son Nathan; I will locate her myself,” he snarled at the man before terminating the call, despite Nathan’s pleas for him to refrain from interfering.

Nathan had informed him that he had also menaced her during their initial encounter. It was unsurprising that the woman was fleeing, having received nothing but intimidation from him. He bore equal culpability for his outburst regarding Sadie’s dress. “Her residence, Luca, let us investigate for any clues regarding her potential whereabouts.”

They executed precisely that. Sadie was perusing her belongings, paused to examine the photographs as well. He had inadvertently revealed a secret; she had remained silent since he uttered the phrase ‘my son’ at the hotel. He had not overlooked her expression at that moment, which conveyed everything.

Ryder was seated in Brianna’s home studio, once more attempting to bypass the password when Sadie entered and surveyed the surroundings. He observed that she was holding a photograph. “He possesses your eyes,” she remarked softly as she walked past him into the room to explore.

“Indeed, his name is Logan,” he informed her with a nod. “You are a girl, Sadie. What do you utilise for a password?”

She rolled her eyes at him. “Yes, I am a girl.” She then shifted her gaze from him to the computer and shrugged, “I don’t password-protect things.”

“Nothing at all?”

“No,” she replied, shaking her head.

“What about your study laptop, the one you bring into the human realm?” he enquired, certain it was secured.

“Ah, yes, that. It is my parents’ Mate Bond anniversary.”

That was of no assistance to him regarding the password.

Luca was scouring the house for any items.

He heard Sadie gasp from behind him and turned to observe her staring at the damaged dress on the mannequin. She had shifted the screen aside, allowing him to see it too.

“That is the dress I desire, or once did.” She indicated towards Ryder, who gazed at it intently. Although he had observed it previously, he had not fully appreciated its details. The dress featured a pronounced sweetheart neckline with crisscrossed ruching and a tailored bodice extending to the upper hip region. Adorned with delicate embroidered flowers on the left hip, it transitioned into a ball gown silhouette composed of numerous soft layers of sheer white fabric, each edged with three-inch white silk ribbon. The layers cascaded down the dress in overlapping folds, resembling large curls.
