The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 44

pronounced

Upon awakening in his pack hospital after her departure, he overheard Pack Dr. Daniel inform him that he appeared to be experiencing symptoms consistent with rejection.

Nolan asserted that he experienced intense pain from a she-wolf and that only he could perceive the Luna in such a manner.

Subsequently, inform him that for the past three years, he has been experiencing the anguish of another without being able to identify its source. It predominantly occurred when Ryder was accompanied by a she-wolf, and regrettably, it was primarily during their absence from the pack. He also experienced it when Ryder was with Camila in their pack.

While in the pack, Nolan had pursued the source of the pain with unwavering determination, yet he was unable to identify or locate the individual afflicted. Ryder was profoundly appalled that it had persisted for three years.

He ceased engaging with she-wolves, refrained from flirting with them, and immediately halted s****l relations, understanding the potential consequences for the girl if such behaviour persisted, which he wished to avoid. He was exceedingly perplexed, seemingly possessing a Mate of whom he was entirely unaware.

He was unequivocally certain she had been in his bed that night; he had never encountered anyone like her before. Touching her ignited a desire within him that he had never felt or experienced with any she-wolf. The sensation of her beneath his hands and her response to his touch were unparalleled.

Thus, to dismiss him not only as her Mate but also as her Alpha and the entire pack. It was unfavourable; he was entirely unaware and did not even truly recognise her appearance, having been utterly preoccupied with the enjoyment he derived from their time together. His bloodshot eyes had remained closed for the majority of the time, engrossed in that pleasurable sensation, utterly self-absorbed by it. He appeared to be unpleasant.

He diverted his thoughts and called his father, informing him of the incident, allowing him to speak with Sadie and see her. Her mother also heard her genuinely promise to comply, now that she fully comprehended the dangers of being alone in public.

Brianna’s Perspective

Brianna commenced her treadmill workout at dawn, as she did each morning. Layla was addressing her persistent rib pain. Fifteen minutes later, she discovered Logan beside her. She smiled at him as he approached his treadmill, frowned at her, and pointed to the bruising on her ribs, asking, “What happened?””

“I am fine; there was a minor confrontation with a man attempting to harm a woman.” “I have triumphed,” she declared with a smile directed at him.

“Do you believe that today is the day you will triumph over me?”Brianna posed a challenge to divert his attention.

“Perhaps,” he smiled at her while activating his device.

Brianna ran daily, covering approximately 18 kilometres each morning and an additional 18 to 20 kilometres in the evening, contingent upon her physical condition. Both treadmills were connected to the iFIT app, and she was presently running in Vermont. The iFIT trainer was displayed on the screen, discussing the scenery while instructing on breathing techniques, pacing, and intensifying or reducing effort. Her treadmill is entirely managed by the iFIT application.

Logan typically ran every other day; however, since their return, he had been running every morning with her. She appreciated the companionship and enjoyed running with him. “What is the status of Rowan?”“She enquired of him.”

“He is not awake every day,” Logan remarked.

Brianna contemplated whether Logan’s youth or Rowan’s premature emergence was the cause. Alternatively, if advancing in Whistler had proven excessive for the boy’s wolf.

“Is he acceptable, however?” Are you well?“her.”

“Indeed, cease your chatter and attempts to exhaust me,” Logan retorted, followed by a grin. “Upon his awakening, he stated we shall defeat you.”

Brianna and Layla both scoffed at him, thoroughly entertained at this point. “Good luck,” they mocked him. “Challenge accepted.”

“You’re on, Mum.” He smiled in response as Logan dismounted the treadmill with a huff, eliciting her laughter. The morning was invigorating yet luminous. They dined on the deck of the dining room, which overlooked the woods of Golden Estates Park, after which she personally drove him to school instead of him taking the bus.

Returned home to work in her second-floor studio until her 5 PM appointment, during which she left Logan at a friend’s house to socialise until her work was completed. He was content to socialise and engage in soccer in the backyard until she returned to collect him.

She arrived as she had the previous day, through the back entrance and courtyard, ascended the stairs, entered her office, and informed Stella of her arrival. Observed Stella enter her office and direct her gaze towards her, displaying a pronounced frown.
