The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 4

Struggling

Brianna gasped at his abrupt absence, only to be pulled onto all fours, hearing his exclamation as he penetrated her from behind, thrusting rapidly and with urgency. Brianna repeatedly cried out as he grasped her hips tightly and abruptly thrust in and out of her. She could hear her own cries of pleasure resonating in the darkness of the room and could sense Layla howling with ecstasy within her mind as he possessed them, screaming out as she reached climax.

He forcefully pushed her onto the bed and demanded, “More.” While restraining her with one hand on the back of her neck and the other elevating her hips, he exclaimed, “F**k,” and resumed with fervour, thrusting with reckless abandon, asserting his dominance over her. “Oh, f**k yes,” she responded as he exerted all his strength, delivering everything he had.

Struggling to breathe, she cried out as successive waves of pleasure overwhelmed her, experiencing multiple o*****s that surged through her, culminating in a scream of ecstasy. Her body jolted forward as she uttered his name one final time while he released his seed within her once more. His weight pressed down upon her as she lay beneath him, gasping for breath and striving to regain composure; she could sense his breath was equally laboured and uneven.

“I enjoy engaging in s****l intercourse with you,” he groaned as he rolled off her body and lay beside her on the bed.

Brianna’s elation at the recent event vanished instantaneously, replaced by searing tears in her eyes. “He enjoyed engaging in s****l intercourse with her,” she contemplated as pain supplanted the pleasure she had previously experienced. She was his mate; nevertheless, he failed to recognise her. Experienced the shattering of both her own heart and Layla’s. She averted her gaze from him, unable to do so, and lay there silently, stifling her sobs of anguish, awaiting his slumber.

She extricated her fatigued body from his bed, yet he remained uncertain of her significance to him; she was merely a source of physical pleasure. She gathered her clothes, hearing him snore softly while her tears fell silently down her face. At the very least, they had the opportunity to possess him, albeit briefly. She distanced herself from the bed and him, closed her eyes, and endeavoured to halt the cascade of tears.

She donned her attire, turned away from the bedroom entrance, gazed at his slumbering form, and felt a sharp pain coursing through her and her wolf. They would not endure his treachery once more; both were aware of this, as well as his propensity to pursue another partner. They held no significance for him, never had, and without a scent for him to perceive, they never would.

Brianna Dieng, warrior of the Blue Cold Pack, inhaled deeply and whispered into the darkness, “I reject you, Ryder Wood, as my Mate.” She then fled swiftly, agony surging through her body, while Layla howled in torment within her mind. They fled from his suite, hurried down the hall, seized their bag, and nearly tumbled down the stairs to the door below, grappling with the anguish of their rejection.

Despite the pain endured over the past three years, they refused to cease their flight, adept at concealing their suffering until solitude permitted its release, not halting until they arrived at the western border of the Pack.

She recognised her dishevelled appearance, with tears cascading down her face, having stumbled and fallen repeatedly as pain ravaged her insides, yet she persevered and continued onwards. Still weeping from her pain, she gazed at the patrolman, who frowned at her, unaware of her origin or identity. He had not detected her approach; he would have heard her. Even now, she could discern his confusion regarding her presence.

Crossed the border into unregulated territory and observed him advance towards her, his eyes widening in response to her actions. Few females would engage in her actions. “I renounce Alpha Ryder Wood and his Blue Cold Pack as my own; I am now a rogue,” she declared, her resolve evident.

She heard the border patrol officer gasp in astonishment, then she turned and fled from all that she had ever known, feeling herself completely severed from the group. It was the sole solution that could rescue her and Layla. They would perish here if compelled to endure any longer.

They exhibited no trepidation in traversing rogue territory, having previously ventured here, and not even a rogue detected her wolfen scent. To them, she was simply a human. Henceforth, they would exist as a human, living, breathing, consuming sustenance, and labouring in the human realm. Travelled to the airport to board their flight and commence anew. A wolf no longer.

Brianna’s Perspective

Brianna positioned herself in the bridal shop window, affixing the dress to the mannequin to ensure a tailored fit and enhance its appeal to potential customers. Not that she lacked them. Her designs were well-received, eliciting smiles even in the human realm.

The gown was a beautiful strapless A-line design in blush, featuring a square neckline. The skirt flowed gracefully, complemented by a bodice adorned with hand-embroidered crystal beads. A neatly pleated section at the front showcased the exquisite soft ruffles of the overlapping satin layers. She appreciated it. I completed it yesterday.

Her establishment, ‘Goddess Gowns,’ located in Colorado, was one of three she currently owned; her primary store featured an appealing layout within a two-story edifice, showcasing all her gowns on the ground floor, complemented by a generous sitting area and luxurious seating. A narrow runway extended from the dressing rooms to the centre of the store, where awaiting guests observed the bride-to-be showcase her selected gown.

Her office was located upstairs in a loft that she had divided into two spacious rooms: her office in one area and her working studio, where she designed her gowns, in the other. She excelled in her profession. She appreciated her work and had sold numerous dresses to affluent individuals as well as ordinary people, catering to all demographics.

Maintained a low profile, yet participated in and attended fashion shows, gaining considerable recognition within the bridal industry. She retreated and examined her latest creation, making several adjustments until she was satisfied. Heard the melodious bell she had purchased chime as the store’s door opened to admit a customer.
