Brianna’s Perspective
Logan had returned to school and, fortunately, to his usual demeanour. He was laughing and enjoying time with his friends, who were evidently astonished by his snowboarding proficiency on the halfpipe. He had been displaying the photographs and video footage she had recorded.
Brianna was working from home, as she had informed Stella and Logan. Stella dispatched one of the girls to her residence on Tuesday morning to deliver the dress she had been creating, ensuring it remained on schedule.
She was operating from her home studio on the second floor, yet recognised that she could not indefinitely evade visiting the store. She indeed had in-person appointments to attend. Although she had received information from Stella regarding the numerous calls received on Sunday and Monday while overseeing the store from Wood Industries, she communicated the new policy to the other two stores as well.
It was not solely their store that repelled Wood Industries; Stella exhaled deeply, stating, “I do not believe that man will simply disappear, Brianna.”
“He will,” Brianna sighed in response. “What are the specific days and times I need to be present at the store this week?” Could you please provide me with the list? I would appreciate it if you could manage the less significant clients, Stella.
Stella had forwarded her the appointments she was required to attend. This week, there are only four of them. Stella could manage the remaining tasks: one today, one on Friday, two on Saturday, and none until the subsequent week. She intended to enter the store from the rear courtyard, apprehensive about encountering any adversaries, should that man remain irate over his unfulfilled desires.
Now, she had an additional Alpha to contend with, one not even from this nation. What events were transpiring in her life? What caused the sudden uncertainty? Where had her stable and comfortable existence vanished?
She drove to the parking lot a few blocks away and proceeded to the store through the back alleys to attend her appointment today. Observed another store proprietor seated in the courtyard, sipping a cup of coffee, although the scent of alcohol was discernible. She smiled at Sophia, with whom she maintained amicable relations with all neighbouring store owners, intentionally fostering these connections. Enquired about her well-being today.
Engaged in a brief conversation and proceeded onwards.
Consuming alcohol in her coffee at work was her method of coping with an unfaithful spouse. The unfortunate woman ought to pursue a divorce. She had witnessed their arguments on multiple occasions. He had not realised she had entered the courtyard and witnessed him slap her when he intervened.
Brianna glared at the man and retaliated by slapping him on behalf of the woman. A fragment of Layla was present in that success on that day. They observed with satisfaction as he staggered backward and pressed his hand to his face, reminiscent of his wife’s actions moments earlier. She instructed him to depart or she would contact the authorities. He approached her, but she reminded him of the security cameras in the courtyard, which served as evidence of his initial assault on his wife, prompting him to leave in a huff.
Sophia remained with him two years later. Despite Brianna’s current consumption of alcohol at work, she had never observed any bruising on the woman that would suggest additional abuse from her husband. She also noted that when he was present, they remained in the courtyard, utilising the cameras to her advantage.
Brianna was not obligated to intervene, although she had informed Sophia that her door was always open should she require assistance. I have never utilised it, however.
Brianna entered her office through the back stairs and informed Stella that she was in the store preparing for her appointment. Stella ascended the stairs and entered her office ten minutes later, holding a hot coffee, and settled into the chair opposite Brianna, gazing intently at her for a full minute.
“What is it, Stella?”She recognised that expression.
“Regular inspections are occurring.” Two relatively large men, somewhat resembling Mr. Wood, approximately every two hours. “They believe I am unaware of their presence,” she remarked, shaking her head.
“As perceptive as ever, Stella.” It was anticipated that she would observe this; Stella was contending with her own familial challenges and, upon commencing her employment with Brianna, had found herself under her father’s scrutiny.
Although that ceased a considerable time ago.
This concerned her, although she was unaware of the Pack to which those two men belonged. “Did you identify them?”Brianna enquired out of mere curiosity.
“They are not the same two who entered earlier,” she remarked while sipping her coffee. “However, that blonde one is quite pleasing to the eye.”
“The blonde individual?”She enquired further.
“He stands approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall, adorned in a stylish pair of dark blue jeans and a well-fitted white t-shirt; there is something intriguing about him.” However, he captures my attention each time he passes by.
It is probable that Carlos, the Gamma of her previous pack, attracted all women with his Gamma Charm; fortunate for Stella that he remained outside. “Avoid proximity to that individual.” His name is Carlos. “A genuine seducer; you would find yourself in his bed before you even recognised it,” she cautioned Stella.
The woman had a preference for blonde, muscular men, which precisely described Carlos.
“What is your acquaintance with them, Brianna?””
I was previously employed by Wood Industries prior to my arrival here. “Left,” she contemplated for a moment, “I suppose one could say it was without permission.”
Brianna contemplated how to elucidate this to Stella, who she anticipated would eventually enter and enquire. She was her dearest companion, indeed her sole genuine friend. The woman was reliable and an exemplary employee. Brianna compensated her generously, significantly exceeding the standard remuneration, due to the considerable assistance she provided during Logan’s early years. Stella was probably not departing. Brianna was contemplating making the woman a partner before transitioning to manage the forthcoming store opening in Canada, which would remain operational for years to come.
