The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 36

He and his unit were accommodated at the Nines, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Colorado, reserving four one-bedroom king suites. His suite featured a pleasant corner view, while the group convened in his suite to discuss plans when not outside awaiting Brianna’s return to her store. It was merely a 30-minute drive from their accommodation.

Nolan entered, dragging Sadie with him two hours after his conversation with the girl. “Behold what I discovered at the Hilton,” he grinned. “I thought I would surveil your father’s preferred hotel chain.”

Ryder gazed directly at her. “You are in significant trouble,” he expressed his dissatisfaction regarding her absence. “Sit in that chair.” He snapped his fingers towards the couch in his room.

She appeared appropriately remorseful to him. He initiated a video call to his father. He responded immediately. “We have her,” he informed him, subsequently turning the phone to display her. Sadie gazed at the phone and seized it, despite her father’s admonitions regarding her irresponsibility and the perilous nature of a young Alpha female venturing out alone. The perils of kilogramme, s****l assault, and t*****e.

Ryder observed her silently endure their father’s reprimand, nodding appropriately and offering apologies. Only after this did their father relent, expressing that she had frightened both him and her mother, Helen, nearly to the point of despair, and permitted her to converse with her mother. Informed her that she must comply with all directives from Ryder and the Unit, or she would face severe repercussions upon her return home.

Ryder was sceptical of the final assertion, yet it appeared that Sadie was convinced. His father harboured a profound affection for the girl; a stringent punishment likely entailed merely being confined to her bedroom for a day or two, which was already equipped with all her desires.

He retrieved the phone from Sadie and briefly conversed with his father, who indicated that one of his associates would transport her back the following day. He noticed Sadie pouting, yet his focus remained on his father.

“Simply maintain her presence there, son. Do not diminish your opportunities of reaching Brianna. Her inclusion is of paramount importance. Sadie’s reprimand can be deferred.

Ryder was astonished, yet refrained from dissenting. Impose several regulations on his wayward younger sisters, 1. that she was required to remain in the suite, 2. She was prohibited from going anywhere alone due to safety concerns. If she exited this suite without authorisation, she would be confined in the cells upon her return home. For each minute she exited the suite, she would incur a minute in the cells. It functioned as a threat, employed with the expectation that she would remain stationary.

Her expression conveyed everything; she was appalled by the notion and appeared to genuinely believe him as well. He gazed directly at her, his jaw clenched and his tone severe; he exuded dominance, not fraternal affection. She glanced at Luca as if he would rescue her, received nothing in return, merely nodded her head, and stated, “Yes, Ryder.”

“You will be sleeping on that couch; I refuse to relinquish my bed for you,” he stated, observing her sulk in response. Bestow upon him that gaze from her large blue eyes, which invariably secured her desires.

He threw her a pillow and an extra blanket to emphasise his point.

A solitary she-wolf was discovered, despite not having been in concealment.

One female wolf remains. That was, in fact, concealed from him at this very moment.
