The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 28

Numerous

Ryder was unable to comprehend her! What was the reason for her concealment from him? Endure such prolonged suffering for years? It is not surprising that she appeared unwell, as Grace described. It is not surprising that she was consistently silent.

He closed his eyes; it is no surprise that she had been so diminutive. It was probable that she had deteriorated to insignificance over the years. It would have been a protracted and excruciating demise for her and her wolf, of which he was entirely unaware. She had concealed everything from him; he was unable to comprehend or grasp the situation.

If this were the case, it would explain her rejection of him. He had not intended to be home that evening, the evening he discovered the girl with the masked scent in his bed. She had fled from his room mere minutes prior to Luca and Enzo arriving to assist him.

The pack-house cameras displayed it. She possessed a prepared rucksack and had already resolved to depart. Despite not being permitted in the pack’s territory, she had probably entered his room merely to inhale his scent, likely intending to spend a night in his bed, where she felt she belonged.

That night, he and his unit were ambushed on the road by a rogue pack, which obliterated his vehicle, necessitating their return to the pack. Had it not been for that incident, he would have never engaged with her at all. He has likely never comprehended what transpired to him.

Questioned whether he would have sensed the disconnection from her at all. He probably only comprehended it now, having had physical contact with her, having shared his bed with her, and despite his ignorance of her true nature at the time, he had been unable to restrain himself, while Aiden had desired him to mate with her as well.

At this moment, his wolf was not merely irritated; it was stalking within Ryder’s consciousness. Both were acutely aware that Brianna had concealed herself from him for a complete three years. She had not once approached him, nor had she introduced herself on the day she had detected his presence.

What is the reason for this? The compulsion to assert one’s Mate was intense; even individuals desiring to repudiate one another remained irresistibly attracted until the rejection was articulated, and occasionally even after it was acknowledged.

Ryder had two wolves in his pack who despised one another, having unequivocally rejected each other upon discovering, as he understood, the precise moment they recognised they were Mates. Over the past two years, the two engaged in numerous confrontations, yet were subsequently observed in the woods exhibiting frenzied s****l behaviour, characterised by raw animalistic desire. Following this encounter, they resumed exchanging insults as they departed.

Ryder had witnessed the altercation firsthand, observing the two individuals vociferously berating one another with vitriolic language. He anticipated the necessity of intervention as they began to shove each other. Suddenly, their pants were lowered, and knickers were torn away, leading to an intense s****l encounter characterised by fervent cries of ecstasy. Remarkably, once the act concluded and they regained their composure, they resumed their exchange of derogatory epithets It appeared that they had retreated from one another, returning to mutual animosity.

They had immediately rejected one another upon the girl’s eighteenth birthday, yet it appeared they could not refrain from physical contact; he considered it a foolish and tumultuous relationship. Ryder considered confining the two of them in a cell until they resolved their issues. However, he was genuinely concerned that they could simultaneously kill one another. In the last two years, they had each hospitalised the other at least twice due to their wolf-on-wolf combat.

It was utterly extraordinary; he had never encountered anything similar. He sought his father’s counsel regarding the matter, to which his father sighed and advised him to disregard it, stating, “They will likely mate prolifically one day and end up marking each other, which will resolve the issue.” This was all he conveyed to Ryder.

Ryder was adhering to his father’s counsel by remaining uninvolved, yet he was simultaneously observing the circumstances. Both individuals were still youthful, aged 20 and 21. From his comprehension of their predicament, the male had harassed his companion throughout her life, spanning primary and secondary education, and had readily accepted her rejection when she had emphatically expressed it. She had shouted it directly in the man’s face before a gathering of their mutual friends, and he had responded with an equally loud affirmation.

Ryder exhaled, having observed Brianna’s response to his mere presence in her studio and at her store. She still sensed their connection, as she had to, and looked up to both Luca and Nolan, who were awaiting his reply.

“It is she,” he murmured. “Brianna Layla is Brianna Dieng; her wolf’s name is Layla.” I surmise she probably changed her name upon departing from the pack; she would have been approximately 21 at that time.

That caused Lucas to widen his eyes. “Are you certain?”He appeared nearly appalled, and Ryder understood the reason.

“Yes,” he affirmed, “I surmise she was likely aware all along.” Had the scent concealed itself from me the entire duration.

“That is extraordinary, Ryder.” It would have been fatal for her, particularly witnessing you and Camila present in the pack.

“Moreover, during my absence from the pack,” Ryder sighed heavily, resenting that notion as well. He was of Alpha lineage and, to his knowledge, had not found a Mate, thus he had indulged his desires whenever and wherever he wished, with numerous willing partners over the course of those three years.
