The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 255

Attempt

“I do not believe she is utilising it or desires to.” He observed her turn and smile directly at him. “She discovered a moving company independently.” Subsequently, she exited his office with a subtle bounce in her step. Ryder reclined in his chair and exhaled as he observed her departure until she vanished from view, appearing content to convey to him that he had come to this realisation. He continued to attempt to assert dominance over him, he reflected.

You may wish to mitigate your losses regarding that truck. I doubt she will assist you.

Ryder directed his gaze towards Luca. The man was probably correct, would cease resisting, and would need to accept the charges and pay the fine. Only then would they return his truck to him, he sighed, “So obstinate.”

I believe that is not the case. It appears she is adhering precisely to Sadie’s instructions. Is attempting to subordinate you. I also believed that relocating her was unwise, if you remember.

“I am aware,” and Ryder indeed remembered Luca informing him of that. The damage has already been inflicted. “It is too late now, I suppose.”

“Likely,” Luca nodded. “Have you expressed your apologies for that?”Ryder gazed directly at him. “No, it is my prerogative as the Alpha.”

“You may wish to reconsider that.” They constituted a faction distinct from you. You might assert that you entered their group and attempted to appropriate it for your own purposes.

Ryder was now fixated on the man; he had not previously entertained that perspective. As the Alpha of a significantly larger and more formidable pack, he might be perceived as an encroaching threat. It frequently occurred that more powerful packs would invade, dominate, and assimilate weaker packs, incorporating those unable to resist or lacking any prospect of victory.

Submitting to the dominant Alpha of a larger, stronger pack without engaging in warfare or physical resistance during the takeover, in order to preserve the lives of pack members. However, there remained opposition and discontent regarding the takeover and the relinquishment of control. Exhaled audibly.

“I am the encroaching Alpha.”

“It may be perceived in that manner.” You are not familiar with her or any of them to a significant extent, nor their opinions on the matter.

“I understand, she remains quite distant from me.” Refused to disclose any information regarding Layla.

“Perhaps, Ryder, you will not be able to familiarise yourself with her until you rectify this issue.” You may wish to ascertain her feelings on the matter. Arrived in an unconscious condition. Had not accepted you; was, in fact, evading you at that time.

“I believe she was not fleeing, Luca, but rather startled or apprehensive about the full moon and my desire to see her.” She would never abandon Logan; I am convinced she would have returned in the morning.

“Agreed,” Luca affirmed, “Yet I still awakened here, within the pack.” All members of her pack relocated here; none had a choice in the decision.

He had frequently expressed remorse for the circumstances she endured within the pack and elucidated the rationale for her relocation to a pack hospital; however, he had not apologised for attempting to relocate her possessions.

He surmised that this was the issue, as her irritation surfaced whenever his movers and moving van were mentioned; she consistently asserted that he had no right to proceed in that manner. Her feelings were immutable, and he could not alter them.

He personally delivered dinner to the Luna Suite. She regarded him with narrowed eyes, yet permitted him entry. Logan smiled and waved at him while wearing a headset and playing a game; after acknowledging him, he returned to his game and spoke into the headset.

Brianna remarked, “He is engaged in online gaming with his friends in Colorado.” I placed the plate for Logan beside him, enabling him to eat while gaming. He had brought hot dogs for the child. Logan appeared quite pleased with the decision.

He had procured roast chicken dinners for himself and Brianna. The tray he was holding contained three slices of cake.

“I anticipated that we could converse and familiarise ourselves,” Ryder remarked as he set the tray on the new coffee table.

Brianna descended onto the lounge. “I require a larger suite, and Logan necessitates his own room; additionally, I urgently need an appropriate table for work,” she informed him immediately.

Ryder was inclined to propose their genuine suite. It was located across the hall and contained not only their bedroom but also an office for her use, in addition to three bedrooms. Logan could undoubtedly select any of those rooms. The premises included a kitchen and dining room, facilitating the consumption of a proper sit-down meal.

He abstained from doing so. “I will investigate that tomorrow.” He merely nodded.

“Excellent.” She reciprocated with a nod.

“What activities do you enjoy, Brianna?” During non-working hours.

“Numerous items.”

“A hint would be appreciated.” He scowled at her while presenting her dinner.

“You have entered my residence.” She gazed directly at him, emphatically stating, “You have observed the activities of Logan and me in the photographs.” Ryder acknowledged with a nod, unable to refute it. “I have,” he conceded. “I observed that Logan has an interest in almost everything; however, your room…” Ryder directed his gaze at her.

“He is indeed quite active.”

“I observed… what are your interests?””

“Anything he desires.”

“For you, Brianna.” “Inappropriate for our son.”

“I enjoy running,” she finally responded to his inquiry, observing the smirk on her face. Probably contemplating her ability to easily outpace him. Although she had not run since her arrival in the pack, it is probable that she has not yet fully recuperated.

He contemplated whether she would be concerned about the lingering scars from her confrontation with the vampire, aware that she possessed several. Daniel informed him that she would perpetually bear the scar from the vampire’s feeding.

He personally disapproved of it, yet there was nothing that could be done.

“Aside from running?””

I engage in extensive work, participate in snowboarding with Logan, occasionally practise indoor rock climbing, hike intermittently, and the boy enjoys swimming as well.

“Do you engage in any self-care activities?”He scowled. The focus was entirely on the boy.

I engage in work and running. I have no objection to shopping, however…

“Purchase exclusively for Logan.” He acknowledged, as her section of the house was devoid of all items except for clothing.

Why do you refrain from purchasing items for yourself?Ryder posed the question that had been troubling him since observing her section of the house.

“I require minimal possessions, primarily just clothing,” she remarked with a shrug. “I work, run, and spend time with Logan and Stella; that encompasses my activities.”

“Are you fond of films?”She was not very forthcoming; I needed to devise a method to encourage her to disclose more information.

Observed her pivot and gaze at him. “Isn’t that the case for all?””

He scowled at her, disapproving of her reticence.

Enquired about her experience in the pack prior to turning eighteen. What had her life been like?
