The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 25

Comprehend

“Engage in conversation with me.” “I will overlook it,” he declared, gesturing for her to proceed in front of him.

She realised she had no alternative, as Logan’s wolf had just presented an Alpha challenge to the man. It is probable that he was unaware of the repercussions. “I still need to collect my board.”

“Where is your equipment?” “I will obtain it,” he remarked nonchalantly.

She indicated it to him and observed as he approached, effortlessly retrieving it and carrying both her and Logan’s boards, which he perceived as inconsequential. He trailed closely behind her as she descended the slope, even checking in their gear and permitting them to change their footwear. Prior to grasping her arm.

“Let us proceed to enjoy a pleasant cup of coffee and procure a hot chocolate for the boy,” he asserted composedly while guiding her away.

Brianna and Layla disapproved of it. Logan remained silent and had not uttered a word since she had collected him. He had remained embraced by her throughout, presumably terrified of his wolf’s recent actions. Unexpectedly, his wolf likely frightened its human counterpart, compelling Logan to retreat to the recesses of his own mind.

She needed to return him to their room and enquire about his well-being, attempting to elucidate the situation, although he was exceedingly young, and she had not anticipated this at all. It was premature. It likely occurred solely due to the threat posed by another Alpha at that time. Compelled his wolf to surface.

The Alpha selected a table distant from others and requested two cappuccinos and a hot chocolate from the waitress, subsequently sitting and gazing directly at her, then at Logan, who remained on her lap. Gazed intently at her for an extended period, as if attempting to comprehend her.

“Is this his inaugural appearance?””

Brianna surveyed the café. This was an inappropriate location for such a conversation, being in public; however, as she surveyed her surroundings, she observed that the venue was nearly vacant now.

“I have vacated the café,” he remarked. “I am the proprietor; respond to the inquiry.”

“Affirmative,” she declared succinctly.

What is the boy’s age?”

“What is your motivation for inquiring?” “I will apologise; we will depart,” she informed him. If he possessed this café, it was probable that he also owned the resort, placing her within his domain, although this establishment did not evoke the ambiance of a pack.

What is the boy’s age?He enquired of her once more.

“I am seven,” stated Logan. “Cease your harassment of my mother,” he abruptly shouted at the Alpha.

Observed the Alpha’s gaze shift towards him. “Vigorous and highly protective already.” This will pose a problem.

“What is your identity?”Brianna enquired. She believed it was essential to understand the challenges she faced.

“I am Alpha Nathan Avery of the Hot Moon Pack. Who are you?””

“Brianna Layla,” she declared bluntly; she was unfamiliar with the Hot Moon Pack, likely Canadian, as he possessed a Canadian accent.

“Which pack?”He enquired, “Or are you without a pack?””

If she confessed to being a rogue, he could eliminate her without consequence. “That is irrelevant to you,” she remarked, observing as he reclined in his chair and fixed his gaze upon her, then directed his attention to Logan.

The man was aware of his Alpha lineage. That was the reason he had insisted on this brief conversation they were engaged in.

Upon the arrival of coffee and hot chocolate, he redirected his gaze to hers, then nonchalantly retrieved his phone and began to use it. Who possessed knowledge of what or why? He might be messaging for assistance, as far as she was aware.

After several minutes, he placed his phone on the table and slid it towards her. “Is that your company?””

She observed it briefly. It was her Goddess Gowns website. “Indeed, what of it?””

“It lacks any wolfen pack insignia or identification mark.” “That contravenes the regulations of the wolfen laws,” he informed her.

She was aware of this; however, devoid of scent, no council would recognise her as a wolf. “Perhaps in your country,” she asserted, wishing he remained unaware of hers.

I observed the man smile, “You jest, correct?” We are all governed by a singular Kingdom, with uniform laws applicable to all. I suspect you are either without a pack, thus a rogue, or your pack is engaging in unlawful activities. Which option is it?”

“What is your concern?”She enquired, exasperated with him. What is your desire? He must possess an ulterior motive.

Observed his smile transform into a smirk. He recognised that she was not lacking in intelligence. What are my desires?I desire my daughter to possess the world. I believe this encompasses a dress by Brianna Layla, which you have consistently declined to address.

Her jaw clenched, “I instructed her to contact my store and schedule an appointment.” I would encounter her then.

“However, you are present now, and so are we,” he remarked with a shrug.

Logan dismounted from her lap and occupied the adjacent chair, yet his gaze remained fixed on her; she had assured him she would refrain from work this weekend. “I assured my son that I would not engage in work this weekend,” she conveyed to Alpha Nathan candidly.

I acknowledge that life can be challenging. However, one cannot always obtain that which one desires. “If you sit with my daughter, listen to her, and design the dress she desires, I will permit your departure,” he gestured towards Logan, “although I am quite certain.” Somewhere, at this moment or imminently, an extremely agitated Alpha Wolf is seeking what rightfully belongs to him.
