The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 249

Location

She had smiled directly at him and nearly laughed, which he recalled had genuinely irritated him. Furthermore, she had reiterated, “Yes Ryder,” while nodding her head, “I will do everything Luca instructs me to do,” placing particular emphasis on the word ‘everything.’

Ryder remembered gazing intently at Sadie for an extended minute. She was highly entertained, yet he observed that the longer he gazed at her, the more she attempted to suppress her amusement. He then gazed directly at his Beta, Luca.

He appeared entirely unamused. It seemed to him that it was in complete Beta mode.

Instructed the man, “Do not lose sight of her.”

“Affirmative, Ryder.” Luca nodded, displaying no emotion beyond his customary demeanour. Had not exhibited any amusement akin to that of Sadie on that day. He now understood that the two had already engaged prior to his dispatching them to Colorado. Sadie’s unadulterated amusement at being instructed to comply with all of Luca’s directives conveyed everything.

Ryder refrained from contemplating the directives that man had issued to his sister, or her compliance, as he had instructed her to adhere to every command. He had closed his eyes, remaining oblivious, having entrusted his Beta with the responsibility of safeguarding her. It appears he had indeed attended to her needs, and she had probably fulfilled all of that man’s requirements as well.

Ryder’s Perspective

Ryder was seated at his desk when Luca and Sadie entered his office. Sadie brusquely pushed past Luca to enter his office first, appearing visibly irritated. His gaze shifted from his sister to his Beta. Luca briefly met his gaze before proceeding to sit in the chair opposite him across the Alpha’s desk. The man was aware of his predicament.

On any other day, he would position himself behind Ryder or lean against the wall adjacent to Ryder’s desk, asserting his dominance; however, at that moment, he recognised he was present to receive a reprimand from the Alpha. “Apologies, Ryder,” Luca remarked. “I was…”

“Silence, Beta,” he retorted. “I am not prepared to listen to you.”

Sadie, nonetheless, stood adjacent to his desk, her arms crossed over her chest. He appeared irritated at being summoned to his office to provide an explanation, or so he presumed. His gaze met hers, and she appeared to have no justification, as if she had committed no wrongdoing.

This was not the endearing younger sister, Sadie, that he recognised. No, this was Sadie, the Alpha-blooded female, confronting him with a piercing gaze. “I harbour no fear of you,” she declared bluntly.

He did not anticipate her fear, yet remorse would have been preferable. She raised an eyebrow at her, stating, “I could certainly penalise you both for this indiscretion.” Undoubtedly, the Beta. One could place that man on the public shaming post.

Noticed Luca’s head abruptly turn to the right in his peripheral vision and sensed the man’s gaze upon him. They no longer utilised the shaming post. Typically, only at the request of a family, as no one desired to subject their family to such humiliation. It had not been utilised for more than ten years. Ryder had never assigned anyone to it since assuming command.

“You will not, Ryder; I shall contest you over it.”

Ryder scoffed directly at her, “You intend to challenge me over it?”It was absurd to utter such statements. Nearly laughed audibly at the notion of her, who despised conflict, confronting him.

I train Ryder. Although I may not enjoy combat, I train diligently, have acquired the necessary skills, and embody the characteristics of an Alpha; do not underestimate my resolve. You assigned Luca to that position. “It will be you and me.” She was directing her Alpha Aura towards him.

Aiden perceived a snarl within his mind as his sister confronted him. Disregarded the challenge and focused on the objective of this meeting. “What are you doing with the Beta?” “He is not your companion,” Ryder retorted.

“What if he is not?” “I am free to sleep with whomever I choose,” Sadie retorted directly at him.

“Thus, you opted to select the Beta of the pack.”

“Indeed,” she asserted, exhibiting irritation, “I possess alpha blood, as do you.” I require an individual capable of fulfilling my needs. “A Beta is ideal for that,” I gestured towards Luca. “He possesses an abundance of stamina.”

“Do not speak in that manner, Sadie,” Ryder asserted, as he wished to eliminate those images from his mind at that moment. He was also averse to her manner of speaking.

“What is the reason?” I am fundamentally similar to you and your requirements as an Alpha Wolf.

“You ought to wait for your companion, Sadie.” “Alpha females ought to await their partners,” he asserted directly to her.

“Are you serious?”Sadie exclaimed directly at him, “As a girl, am I expected to remain poised and demure?”“So, boys are permitted to engage in promiscuous behaviour, while girls are not?” That is outrageous.

“That is the situation, Sadie.” He retorted, irritated by her tone.

You are a blatant hypocrite. Merely due to my gender, I am expected to postpone s****l activity… Did you abstain until you discovered your partner? Absolutely not! You did not.

“Enough, Sadie,” Ryder said tersely; he was unwilling to pursue that avenue with her.

“It is not.” “If you, Ryder, were the Alpha of the pack,” she said, dripping with sarcasm, “you would have adhered to those rules.” If you had awaited your Mate and refrained from indiscriminate s****l encounters, you would not have caused Brianna any harm, would you?”

“That is sufficient, Sadie; I do not require a reprimand from you.” He growled at her.

“Indeed, I do, as I am a female.” I am not responsible for my Mate’s suffering and near demise. She has lost her wolf and can no longer shift. No, you accomplished that independently by engaging in reckless behaviour.

“Enough,” Ryder bellowed at her and sprang to his feet.

“Sufficient!”Sadie retorted, “It’s absurd. You Alpha males are all arrogant, expecting your Mates to be virgins, patiently awaiting your arrival. Yet, do you extend the same patience to your Mates?” No, you do not; you all must go out and engage with any she-wolf willing to be receptive. No one among you is concerned with violating another’s partner. You are all a collection of hypocrites.

Observed his office door ajar, and his father abruptly entered the room. What is occurring? I sense the animosity between the two of you.

He was enraged by being addressed in such a manner. She had no right to enter his office and berate him. He was the dominant figure, not her.

Sadie turned to her father, her finger still directed at him, stating, “Your son is a hypocrite; he can engage with anyone he desires.” However, I am unable to do so. I possess identical Alpha needs and desires as all of you Alpha males. I will satisfy them at my discretion, in my chosen location, and with whomever I desire.
