The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 242

Stationary

Ryder’s Perspective

He observed Brianna walk away from him towards the woods, and he had to allow her to leave; she required a moment. I was once again extremely angry with him. Probably had a legitimate claim on this occasion. However, he was aware of his actions.

She had prematurely advanced the plan to enter the human world before she was adequately prepared.

Sadie was correct; he was coercing her to obtain his desires. He had convinced himself he would refrain, yet he likely never ceased at all. He appeared unable to restrain himself, exhaling in frustration over his own foolishness and hubris. Nolan and Enzo were both observed gazing at him.

“She requires a moment.”

“Exceeding one minute.” Nolan acknowledged. “Exhibits anger and irritation.”

“Allow her to be for the time being, Nolan.” She is justified in her anger and irritation towards me. She was raised in this pack and will not become disoriented. I will notify border patrol to monitor for her, that is all.

Nolan frowned at him, stating, “She will not abandon Ryder.”

“Refrain from doing that.” Have confidence in her. Indeed, we ought to allow her autonomy. She will return.

Ryder gazed at his Gamma and then at Enzo. When positioned adjacent to Nolan, his Gamma instincts were activated. Enzo merely nodded before turning and departing. Ryder proceeded to his office to allow her solitude.

He occupied himself with pack affairs until she returned to the pack-house and was prepared to converse with him. He believed he had one more item to apologise for, as that list was increasingly expanding daily.

Although precipitated by his own hubris.

He sensed her through the connection of his Mark on her, unable to establish a mind-link until that process was finalised or she permitted him to initiate her, which he did not anticipate occurring in the near future. However, he could discern her approximate location within the pack, as she seemed to be advancing towards the southern extremity, which consisted solely of additional woodland.

Contact the head of the HR team at Wood Industries, a wolf named Connor, and instruct him to refrain from making any official statements to the press at that moment.

Brianna did not desire it. Connor was a member of the pack, as were all individuals employed within his head office building. The man recognised Brianna’s identity as the Luna of their pack.

Remained silent on the matter for twenty seconds before affirmatively responding, “Yes Alpha.” Subsequently enquired whether he desired a complete shutdown to enhance Luna’s comfort.

Ryder remained silent, as Brianna had abruptly departed from his presence. The connection he had been nurturing was lost. Ryder nearly dropped his phone as he sprang to his feet. Extended my hand for her connection, received no response. Informed Connor that he would return the call and terminated the conversation.

His heart pounded within his chest; Aiden was restless and agitated in his mind, yearning to escape and seek her out. They were not entirely connected, and he experienced no anguish upon her separation from him; he had sustained an injury, yet that did not imply that an event had not transpired concerning her.

Nolan burst into the office just as he was exiting, nearly knocking him over. The man, sprinting at full wolf speed, appeared as frantic as Ryder and Aiden felt.

“I am aware; I cannot perceive her presence either,” Ryder informed him as he pivoted the man. “The last time I sensed her was in the southern woods.”

Nolan exclaimed in frustration, “I could never locate her in those woods,” as the two of them proceeded outdoors. Ryder disseminated a pack-wide mind-link to all his warriors to locate their Luna. She was absent. Last observed in the southern woods, provided a comprehensive description of her appearance, noting that she would emit the same scent as he did.

Aiden was abruptly separated from him, and they raced through the group into the woods, following the trail along which she had previously disappeared from view, having been absent for approximately 40 minutes. He had not been monitoring the time, only her wandering through the forest.

Subsequently, she simply disappeared. He was aware that she had remained firmly within the pack’s territory when she disappeared.

No reports had been received from his border patrols indicating that she had departed the pack, and they were all submitting updates every 10 minutes since he sensed her disappearance.

Aiden was following her scent through the woods and could now detect it, indicating they would likely locate her soon. Encountered his wolf in direct confrontation with other wolves.

Occasionally involving his own unit. They were all following his scent, which was perplexing them.

Aiden had to pause and resent her multiple times, her infuriatingly delicate scent becoming obscured amidst the presence of others. The fragrance was excessively subtle and ultimately led to a dead end, necessitating his retracing of steps once more. He could sense his wolf’s frustration at its inability to locate her. Retraced his steps to the initial starting point and attempted again.

Deploy the majority of the remaining wolves from the vicinity to enhance the tracking efforts, leaving only him and his unit to search for her. Nolan was nearly as agitated as Ryder. He disapproved of it. How could he fail to locate her within his own pack when he was aware that this was her last known location? It was entirely incomprehensible to him. Fear and dread were infiltrating him. What if an incident had occurred involving her? What if he never located her?

For the twelfth time, Oscar stood before him, and Ryder was reprimanded by his own Gamma through the mind-link, which resonated distinctly. This was the sensation within the pack previously, when he could never locate her, merely traversing in circles, incapable of reaching her or discovering her whereabouts.

Oscar confronted Aiden, exhibiting hostility and aggression, before retreating into the woods once more. They were making no progress whatsoever. No indications of her presence at any border; hours have elapsed with no results. Nathan and Annabella were also present in the woods now. Both appeared profoundly discontented, likely sharing his pessimistic perspective.

What if someone discovered her true nature and abducted her? He was gazing at Annabella’s wolf, desiring to converse and enquire about Annabella, but was unable to establish a mind-link as she was not a pack member, ‘Nolan.’

Alpha? He still appeared irked, although Ryder understood that his frustration was not directed at him, but rather at the repeated loss of the Luna.

“Stella and Fade possess the ability to connect with anyone at will, as Annabella stated.” It did not truly occur to him until Aiden was gazing at Annabella’s silver wolf. “Instruct them to attempt a mind-link with Brianna to ascertain her location.”‘

I will enquire, however. Aside from Oscar and myself, I believe she has not established connections with anyone else thus far. It may prove challenging!

“She has, Fade to Annabella, and she briefly attempted with me last night.”

Ryder halted the ongoing search to pause and await developments. He was uncertain whether Fade or Stella would be impeded by the commotion within the pack, thus no one remained stationary, anticipating the outcome, regardless of their previous positions.
