The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 184

Couch

The boy required solace, which his wolf presumably recognised and permitted; however, now that the boy was composed, he regained control and desired Ryder to exit the room again.

“Rowan, I wish for you to comprehend that I desire to be present as well.”

“You possess no entitlement.” Rowan growled. “Belonging to me, not to you.” Those words astonished Ryder significantly. He was uncertain about how to respond to them. He was correct in believing that Rowan regarded the three of them as his pack.

“Indeed, she is your mother,” Ryder affirmed. “This is my companion, Rowan,” he reminded the wolf.

“You have harmed her,” he snarled. “Leave,” he growled, brimming with menace.

I do not wish to engage in conflict with you, Rowan; Logan is quite distressed. He requires…

“His mother,” the wolf growled at him. “Not you.” Ryder sighed; the boy’s wolf would not cede control unless he exited the room. He comprehended that much. Reluctant to exit the room, both I and Aiden distinctly sensed that Rowan, as the Alpha of his small pack, would not exhibit amiable behaviour. Reluctant to submit to the wolf’s directives, yet apprehensive about the creature’s potential to completely dominate the boy, Aiden was anxiously anticipating the moment when their son would transform into a fully-fledged Alpha Wolf and confront them. Exited the room.

Luca observed Ryder, who stood just outside the room. “He’s seven,” his Beta remarked, noting that Ryder had granted a seven-year-old complete authority over the situation.

“I comprehend Luca; he is currently experiencing trauma,” Ryder sighed.

“He is rapidly acquiring the ability to manipulate others to fulfil his desires.” “Even you, Ryder.” Ryder merely nodded, “I just need him; I want him to stabilize.” He was acutely cognisant of the prevailing dynamics of the situation, recognising his son’s wolf exerting dominance over those present, endeavouring to establish authority.

The boy’s wolf had acquired this behaviour from his observations, assimilating it from every interaction with wolves he had experienced, albeit limited, yet comprehending that Alpha Wolves employed intimidation to achieve their desires. Alpha Nathan issued multiple threats to coerce them into acquiescing to his demands. Aiden’s fury and determination to assert his claim over his Mate.

Rowan rapidly discerned that intimidation and hostility were effective means to achieve his desires, and he employed these tactics, as they were the only methods he had ever observed and he lacked alternative knowledge. Had to relinquish it and would attempt to contact the boy and his wolf at a later time.

“Stella?”He enquired, fully aware of the potential pain and damage an Aura could inflict on a human.

“Once you removed Logan, simply…” stood up and brushed it off, embracing Nolan.

“Dismissed it?”Ryder frowned; that was incorrect, as medical treatment should have been necessary based on what he had observed.

“Indeed, peculiar to say the least.” If she were Marked, I would comprehend it; however, …

“Secure her.” I observed something as she confronted Aiden and me.

“There is undoubtedly something present.” Luca nodded. “What is it?”He shrugged.

“Restrict her movement until we ascertain the situation.”

Nolan will disapprove of it.

“Place her in his room to resolve the issue.” Luca acquiesced and departed.

Ryder circled outside the Luna Suite each time he opened the door. He confronted Rowan, who was snarling directly at him. Recognising that he would not be entering that room in the near future, he seated himself on a chair in the hallway and exhaled deeply.

Upon observing his stepmother Helen traverse the hallway, he noted her smile directed at him as she remarked, “I hear you possess a Luna Ryder.”

“Yes,” he affirmed, “but I cannot gain access to see her.”

“Indeed, rogues within pack territory are perpetually challenging,” she acknowledged. “Disrupts their equilibrium, likely too much for a young, partially developed Alpha Wolf to manage.” Ryder fixed his gaze upon her. What is your meaning?Helen approached him directly and placed a hand on his shoulder. “He requires a period of acclimatisation; the sudden presence of numerous wolves of varying ranks is overwhelming for him. Given his already tenuous emotional state due to his mother’s condition, coupled with the complexities of the pack dynamics, he is unable to manage.” It is excessive for one so youthful.

“I am uncertain about the appropriate course of action,” Ryder sighed, and indeed, he was.

“Eliminate all individuals above omega rank; their influence on him will be minimal.” She smiled down at him. “You ought to change your shirt; I will proceed inside.”

“I believe that is an unwise proposal.”

She softly remarked, “I was an omega for an extended period, recall.” I will be well. Your father wishes to speak with you as well.

“He may either wait or come here,” Ryder remarked. He would not depart from the hospital until Brianna regained consciousness.

Rowan was unexpectedly unresponsive to Helen’s entrance into the room. He listened as she introduced herself and informed him that she was present to assess Brianna’s condition. Ryder had entirely overlooked that Helen had previously served as a nurse in her former pack.

It has only now become apparent that the woman was attired in the nursing uniform, consisting of dark purple scrubs; she had indeed come prepared to enter that room. Heaved a sigh, as it appeared that someone was permitted entry without incurring Rowan’s growls.

Ryder sat in a chair outside Brianna’s room, wearing a clean shirt that Luca had provided. Observed Helen as she entered and exited the room; she successfully encouraged Logan to consume some food, despite his lack of conversation, and she also managed to lull him to sleep on the couch around 10 PM.
