The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 182

Extricated

Observed the man blink in reaction, noted his gaze shift to the mark on her neck. Ryder’s Mark remained a concept she needed to comprehend independently.

“Um, well,” he seemed to be perplexed, she recognised.

She recognised that he could not take Logan from her if she refused; Helen had referred to her as a Luna. He could not override her.

He observed him sigh and shake his head. “Alright, a bit of a dilemma,” he conceded. “Brianna, Rowan…” will not permit Ryder, or rather Aiden, in this room.

That captured her complete attention. She was now perplexed; Logan was addressing the man as father. She presumed they were harmonious; however, why had she not awakened to find him in this room, presumably cradling his son in his lap, as would be the instinctual behaviour of a parent? However, Rowan clearly held a differing viewpoint. That likely explains his absence from this room prior.

“I must remove them from this room; he’s… we wish to prevent his complete emergence and…” Brianna sighed, aware of the implications. His instinct to safeguard her would emerge, yet she could not comprehend the rationale behind his aggression. Contemplate with a furrowed brow for a brief period. It was Ryder’s wolf that had designated her. “Where was Rowan located?” When did this occur? She indicated her neck.

To the Mark that now designated her as Ryder’s Mate.

“Immediately adjacent to you.” Carlos regarded her with an apologetic expression.

That elucidated numerous aspects. Gazed at her son Logan?”

“Rowan is exceedingly upset,” he reiterated to her. “I am uncertain…” It was difficult for him to articulate. He was clearly perplexed by his wolf’s emotions, likely overwhelmed by a multitude of feelings from Rowan that he could not fully comprehend. She presumed it was too young.

Is Rowan awake?“She enquired of him.”

He observed him nod, and then Rowan emerged, apologising with his wolf’s youthful, gravelly voice.

“For what purpose?”She caressed his hair as she would Logan’s. “You committed no error.”

“Failed to comprehend until it was too late.” “Do not cease.” Brianna sighed and embraced Rowan tightly.

You exhibit remarkable bravery, yet you remain quite youthful. I do not wish for you to confront an Alpha Wolf on my behalf.” He stepped back slightly. “I want you to simply be a boy wolf, do you comprehend?”

He snorted directly at her, prompting her to smile and nearly chuckle, while also sensing Layla’s amusement towards her son. “You will soon grow big and strong, but for now, enjoy your time with Logan and have fun.” She tapped him gently on the nose. “Embrace your identity as a boy wolf.”

He emitted a faint snarl of irritation before retreating, permitting Logan to advance once more. “You have insulted him,” he whispered.

“I did not,” she replied with a smile. “He is merely irritated that I referred to him as young,” she acknowledged; her son’s wolf was an Alpha, robust and eager to assume leadership. Attend to the needs of those he cherished.

“He claims to be the Alpha.”

She nodded and glanced at Carlos, who was smiling to himself. Clearly, Rowan had no objections to the man, as he did not react to his presence at all and observed him reaching for the boy once more. Logan embraced her, and she merely shook her head at Carlos. “He will be ready only when the time is appropriate,” she informed him.

Observed the man frown and prepare to speak, raised an eyebrow at him, after which he merely smirked and exited the room. He could not contest her, and if it was necessary to prevent Rowan from Ryder’s wolf, then that man could certainly wait until the boy was prepared to exit the room independently.

Given what he had witnessed, it was unsurprising that he refused to exit the room. Ryder would have to wait, recline, and allow Logan to nestle against her. “Get some sleep,” she instructed him gently.

He chuckles softly, saying, “You are unkind, mother.”

What actions did I undertake?”

Rowan stated, “You are preventing Dad from being present by having me here.”

“He is not as foolish as one might think,” she chuckled, lightly tickling him.

She heard him giggle and smiled to herself, yet this was merely a temporary respite; eventually, that man would enter the room, and she would have to confront him. She empathised with Layla, who resided silently within her consciousness, seemingly perplexed and torn by the realisation that they were Marked by their Mate.

Neither she nor Layla had ever contemplated the occurrence, and now it had materialised. They did not even remember the occurrence, had no recollection of it, sighed to herself, and settled down, still fatigued.

She could now perceive Layla’s healing, experiencing the tingling sensations of pins and needles in various areas of her body, signifying the activation of her wolf’s healing abilities.

Ryder’s Perspective

Rowan was consistently forthright whenever he approached Brianna; it required the combined efforts of Nolan and Stella to restrain the boy’s wolf. Upon retrieving Brianna from the aircraft, Ryder was determined to prevent anyone else from making contact with her. If she awakened, it would likely incite Layla into a rage, as that wolf had threatened all of them except Enzo.

She had a strong aversion to wolves making contact with her, a fact he was aware of; thus, if she were to awaken, it would be him she would confront. He would endure the forthcoming blows. She would likely only resist until he released her, desiring merely his departure. Regarding the others, he was uncertain about their safety.

Logan was compelled to travel in a separate vehicle; his wolf had engaged in a fierce struggle, exhibiting all its claws, while Nolan bore numerous injuries. By the time Ryder secured Brianna in his car, the boys’ wolf had transformed into a volatile sphere of rage, proving difficult to restrain, as Ryder had observed.

Conversely, Stella remained unscathed and endeavoured to soothe the boy’s wolf, appearing entirely unafraid of it. Upon entering his awaiting vehicle with Brianna, he felt apprehensive about Logan, whom Stella had successfully attached herself to as he had extricated himself from Nolan and propelled towards Ryder.
