The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 181

Poised

Observe the consequences of her actions; she had rendered her once joyful and vivacious son distressed, fearing the worst, as he wept, “I’m sorry.” She murmured once more.

“Never run alone again,” he wept.

Brianna responded, “Alright.” She was completely unaware of how anyone had discovered her whereabouts. Luca likely recognised her departure from the hotel, although monitoring her would have been challenging. Brianna was unaware of the events that had occurred over the past two days, yet it was evident that someone had informed Logan of her solitary running.

She observed Helen exit the room, presumably to afford them some time together; even as the door opened and subsequently closed, she detected Ryder’s scent carried by the draft created by the door’s motion. He was present as she indicated. Exhaled audibly. She remained seated with Logan until he ceased crying, becoming quiet and leaning against her.

Her hand glided through his hair, softly caressing it to soothe him. She consistently engaged in that behaviour, and he invariably appreciated it, occasionally reclining with his head in her lap, smiling up at her while she caressed his hair. He appreciated its texture, as it also provided him solace.

She waited until he was entirely calm and relaxed before asking, “Logan, what transpired?”“She enquired of him.”

“Father transported us here via a private jet.”

Brianna’s eyes shut; he had just referred to Ryder as ‘dad.’

It is probable that they had formed a bond over the past two days, acknowledged internally, although she was aware that such an occurrence was inevitable. It was somewhat surprising to hear him articulate it so effortlessly.

“His wolf has bitten you…Rowan…”

Brianna considered it peculiar that he had a wolf.

Wolves do not mark what they cannot detect by scent. Layla frowned, sensing an internal snort of annoyance, and reclined with her head resting on her paws. “What is the status of Rowan?”“She enquired when he failed to complete his sentence for an entire minute.”

“Is genuinely angry.”

Brianna bit her lip and distanced him slightly, allowing her to gaze down at him intently. She understood that upon acquiring your wolf, its emergence could significantly alter your appearance. Logan still resembled her cherished young son. Did he emerge?“She enquired with concern.”

“No,” he replied, shaking his head. “However,” he observed, glancing at his hands, turning them over, and then looking directly at her, “we truly possess claws, don’t we?”

“Indeed, one day Rowan will manifest in his complete wolf form.” He observed her gaze, having never witnessed such intensity before. “Really?”Brianna acknowledged his statement, realising she had not fully elucidated the situation to him, and observed his frown. “I have never witnessed Layla in that manner,” he remarked. “Is she also well?””

Layla leaned forward and gazed directly at him, stating, “I’m just tired,” before withdrawing.

“Describing my encounter with Layla is challenging.” How did she convey the complete truth to him? She was unwilling, as he was too young for that.

“Am I permitted to proceed now?” Where within father’s rucksack?”

“Unlikely,” she replied softly. “Let it be for now; we can discuss it later.” Are you aware of the reasons behind Aunt Stella’s predicament?“She enquired of him.”

He raised an eyebrow as he sighed heavily at her and nodded slowly, stating, “Aunt Stella and Dad had a significant altercation, yelling and screaming at one another.” Subsequently, father’s wolf became exceedingly enraged and bit you.

“I fail to comprehend,” she exhaled.

“Uncle Nolan stated that father would elucidate it to you.”

“Uncle Nolan?”She enquired with a subtle frown.

Observed the boy shrug and state, “He is going to marry Aunt Stella, correct?”Brianna nodded, “Yes, I suppose so.” It appeared he was forming connections with everyone while she was unconscious.

She was powerless to change the situation and would not have acted differently; her sole desire was for his happiness.

Carlos himself entered through the door to the room. “Brianna, it is pleasing to see you awake,” he remarked with a smile as he traversed the room.

If he was in this room, it was probable that Ryder would soon enter as well; Nolan had consistently accompanied him while attempting to converse with her, a measure to maintain her and her wolf’s composure, as she understood.

Observed him extend his hand towards Logan and draw him back to her once more. She was not prepared to release him yet.

“It is acceptable, Brianna.” I will not cause him harm.

“I am aware of that,” she replied candidly, yet she was not prepared to relinquish his presence just yet.

Carlos smiled at her, pleased with her statement, “Stella wants to see him.”

Brianna responded, “Then bring her here.” She understood that the woman was in lockdown, likely due to her altercation with Ryder, which had provoked his wolf.

“I cannot, Aiden…” he sighed in response. “Although I wish to discuss Stella, she is…” he observed the man’s frown. “An unusual occurrence transpired.”

Brianna frowned at him, poised to enquire, when she noticed his eyes glaze over, indicating he was mind-linked by someone. When he returned his gaze to her, he stated, “Another time, I will take him to see her; he will be safe with me, I promise.”

“What if I decline?”Brianna asserted bluntly.
