Brianna gazed directly at the woman. She now remembered the woman, despite having had minimal interaction with her during her time here; the extent of their acquaintance was unclear.
“The anticipation to meet you has been prolonged.”
Brianna murmured, “Indeed.” No one had ever attended to her, nor was anyone aware of her. “My son?”She gazed beyond Luna to Logan.
“Sleeping has remained by your side since your arrival.” “He is quite protective,” Helen remarked, turning to smile at him. “He is delightful, by the way.”
“I know,” she replied to both enquiries. “What time is it?”She could not locate a clock in the vicinity, and with only the lamp illuminated, she discerned it was night, too dark to be daytime.
“It is nearly 4 AM; I will inform your companion that you are awake, as he has been exceedingly concerned about you.” Brianna gazed at the woman but remained silent. That man had branded her without consent. She was unaware of when or why it occurred. He was unable to detect her scent. She was unaware of how it had transpired.
She sensed Layla now upright in her thoughts, felt considerable confusion, and remained exceedingly reticent on the matter.
Brianna contemplated, uncertain of the situation at hand.
Place a hand on Helen. “Postpone that.” She was not yet prepared to confront him. “Stella?”She enquired, unable to perceive the woman in the room.
“During the lockdown, I am confined to Nolan’s room and prohibited from exiting at this moment…however…”
“What is the reason for her confinement?””
“That is more challenging to articulate,” she observed Helen exhale with a hint of weariness. “There is a problem with the individual,” she remarked nonchalantly.
Brianna was intrigued by that, but chose to dismiss it for the time being. If she were with Nolan, he would ensure her safety. What was the reason for Ryder’s anger towards her? What was the reason for her lockdown?
Brianna was unable to comprehend. She must have missed considerable events during her two-day unconsciousness.
During that period, Ryder relocated her from one country to another, directly into his pack. She had no input in the matter, despite his awareness of her reluctance to be present, which she had explicitly communicated to him. She had been unable to articulate ‘no’ to him. Gazed at the blood that remained and contemplated the proximity of the event.
The final memory she retained was sitting in the alley after that vile creature bit into her neck and began to feed on her. The pain was excruciating, and Layla, consumed by an unprecedented rage, had eviscerated the vampire while it was still feeding on her.
Fortunately, Layla possessed strength and was driven by anger and fury. The prospect of abandoning Logan in this world, devoid of their presence, compelled her to exert every fragment of strength and resolve she possessed.
She had desired to endure for him, just as she had when they discovered they were expecting. Her son was the sole reason for her existence.
He required their support, being too youthful to be self-sufficient, and they would not permit him to mature in solitude as they had, assuming he resembled them. It would be inconsequential that his father would acknowledge him and bring him home. He would experience solitude, and her beautiful son, vibrant and joyful, would gradually become despondent and loathe his existence as she had. They did not desire that for him, not even for an instant.
“Helen… I require a moment,” she stated softly, and indeed she needed more than a minute to comprehend her surroundings and the actions that had been inflicted upon her.
I observed the woman nodding her head, stating, “I am certain Ryder will grant you ample time.” Nonetheless, he is your Mate, and he desires to see you conscious. Partners experience anxiety, my dear, when their significant other is harmed and distanced from them. Extremely so.
Brianna merely shook her head. “No.” She recognised her unpreparedness to encounter that man. Layla was not, or at least she believed she was not.
“Indeed, he is located just outside.” She has remained in the hospital throughout, despite the entire pack buzzing with excitement at the revelation of their Luna. She chuckled softly, “My goodness, dear, they have all gone mad with enthusiasm over the news.”
Brianna gazed at the woman, uncertain of her belief in that statement.
I observed Helen laughing at her appearance, which must have been evident on her face: “It is true, he has not even officially announced you yet.” However, it was evident to everyone when he personally transported you from the vehicle and placed you directly into Luna’s medical suite. Moreover, he has not departed from the hospital for an entire day.
“Mother?””
Brianna’s gaze shifted to Logan, who was now sitting up, appearing drowsy, presumably awakened by their voices. “Hello, dear.” She smiled at him as he discarded the blanket and hurried over to her. Helen personally lifted him and assisted him onto the bed.
Brianna was more than a little surprised that the boy permitted it.
He crawled into her lap, clinging to her while crying and sobbing. She embraced him tightly, wrapping her arms around him and soothingly whispering, “I’m okay.” “We are fine,” she said gently.
“I believed you were going to perish,” he wept.
“I apologize,” she murmured, genuinely remorseful for inflicting any pain or suffering upon him. She and Layla required a brief escape for a single night.
