She straightened herself and resisted the urge to strike the foolish wolf, despite sensing Layla’s desire to permit her to do so. Observed the she-wolf turn and regard her as if powerless, only to subsequently hear her gasp in agony and swiftly pivot her head; Brianna also glanced and discovered Logan glaring directly at the she-wolf. “Do not refer to my mother in such a derogatory manner,” he retorted.
Brianna positioned herself directly between the woman and her son, while the woman and her wolf reacted with hostility to the affront. It appears that Logan either struck or kicked the she-wolf unexpectedly.
Her eyes glared at Brianna, glowing slightly in an attempt to intimidate her, as she imagined. A low growl emanated from her, a warning that her wolf disapproved of the insult, despite their initial provocation.
Layla immediately advanced in response to the threat posed to Logan, observed the she-wolf’s eyes widen, and then attempted to scent her. Brianna and Layla exchanged exasperated glances before Layla withdrew as they redirected their attention to Logan. “Come on, son.” She grasped his hand and exited the store.
“Mother, you ought not to tolerate that,” he murmured to her.
“Simply relinquish it,” she exhaled. What actions did you take towards her?”
“I struck her decisively in the shin,” he remarked, his voice betraying a genuine smile.
“Refrain from such behaviour, Logan; there are already numerous unpleasant individuals in this world.” Avoid emulating them.
“She was unpleasant initially, mother.”
“I understand, refrain from descending to their level.”
“What caused her eyes to change from blue to green?”“He inquired.”
Brianna gazed down at him, somewhat astonished; she had assumed he was positioned behind her, unaware of her actions, believing she had entirely concealed herself from him. He must have been peering around her to observe the woman.
“Similar to yours, they occasionally turn white when you gaze at me,” he remarked, looking up at her.
“Oh.” She appears to be somewhat different as well.Brianna exhaled audibly. She was aware that Layla occasionally advanced to observe him; he had never previously mentioned it, believing he either had not perceived it or that it was customary.
“We ought to return to the hotel.” Perhaps engage in a discussion regarding that matter.
He remained silent for the remainder of the walk and stood with her at the lift when he gazed directly at her. “What was her identity?”“He enquired abruptly.”
Brianna softly replied, “An otherworldly creature,” after ensuring no one was nearby to overhear. She waited for the lift to arrive, ushered Logan inside, pressed the doors closed button to prevent others from joining, and then sighed, “Logan, what is your opinion on mythical creatures, whether real or not?”“She inquired.”
“What type?”“He enquired in return.”
“Please inform me.” Do you hold any belief in them?”
He appeared to contemplate for an extended period as the lift doors opened on their floor, revealing the Alpha and his daughter from the previous day waiting to enter. She grasped Logan’s hand while he gazed up at the man. He was notably large and imposing, standing at least 6 feet 6 inches tall, with a well-defined muscular physique.
They yielded to allow her and Logan to proceed. Logan observed the man. “He cannot be human, mother; he is excessively large.”
She observed him pivot and gaze at the Alpha, her eyes shifting to the man in question.
The Alpha smiled while gazing at her son. Alphas preferred to be recognised as formidable and imposing. “He is not human,” she asserted calmly, as there was no one else in the hallway to overhear her.
The Alpha’s gaze shifted sharply to hers; she offered a slight nod, a gesture of acknowledgement rather than genuine respect for him or his kind. It was merely an indication that she was fully aware of his true nature. Subsequently, she turned and departed with Logan to their room.
“What is his identity?”Logan enquired as they entered their suite.
What is your opinion of him?She countered and observed him contemplating her words. She approached, seated herself on the couch, and gestured for him to join her. He complied, yet remained absorbed in thought regarding her inquiry.
“Logan, there exists a diverse array of creatures in the world.” The humans know nothing of them. They produce films and compose literature regarding their perceptions of those beings.
“Are you aware of any?”He enquired immediately.
“I do,” she affirmed. “In fact, some of them have purchased wedding dresses from me.”
“Is that your source of knowledge about them?””
“No, son.” She shook her head, indicating that it was time to engage in that discussion. “I am one; you are one as well.” “Although you will not receive your…wolf until later in life,” she confessed to him what he was.
He was merely observing her at that moment, appearing rather unfazed.
“I am a werewolf, and you will become one as well,” she informed him. Brianna and Layla observed that he appeared more inquisitive than anxious as he contemplated what she had just conveyed to him.
“Can your wolf communicate with you?”“He enquired a moment later.”
Brianna affirmed, “Yes, her name is Layla.”
“She possesses the white eyes, correct?””
“Indeed, would you like to meet her?”Brianna enquired whether he was curious, offering her assistance if so.
“Am I permitted?””
“Although not in wolf form, she can advance in a figurative sense and even communicate with you, though her voice will sound gravelly.” Would you like to meet her?Brianna sensed Layla’s presence rising within her consciousness. Anticipating their son’s response, they observed as he turned to face them, slightly tilted his head, and stared for approximately thirty seconds before nodding at her.
Layla immediately leaned in to gaze at him, desiring his attention and for him to notice her. She smiled down at him, prompting him to move closer and truly observe her. He did not flinch when she reached out to tousle his hair. “Hello, Logan,” she greeted in her gravelly, wolf-like voice.
Upon witnessing his smile and subsequent chuckle, she reciprocated with a chortle and commenced to tickle him, prompting him to laugh uncontrollably while attempting to push her away and cease her actions. It was gratifying to witness their son readily accept her wolf.
Brianna observed Layla as she lifted him into her lap and embraced him affectionately. She frequently engaged in the activity during his childhood; however, as he matured, she only did so when he was semi-conscious. Now, she can do it at her convenience, whenever she desires.
