The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 179

Identify

“I can still perceive her scent; I could at that time as well,” he remarked, gazing out the window.

Nolan remarked from his seat on the opposite side of the plane, “I could detect her scent.” Ryder gazed directly at the man. That would constitute a precedent.

“Since I marked her or since the assault?””

“Since you have marked her, I can detect your scent on her.”

All will be aware that she is your Mate.

“Thus, no longer imperceptible to scent?” “No longer will it be imperceptible.” This explains why Alpha Nathan possessed a scent; it can only be advantageous. This may assist in fostering her comfort within the pack.

If she awakened prior to arriving, it was uncertain whether she would permit them to take her to see the pack doctor.

Should she awaken within the confines of the pack hospital, what would her sentiments be regarding that circumstance? It was probable that she would remember being fed upon, and thus it was hoped she would comprehend his necessity to transport her to a pack hospital. She recognised him as her Mate, and despite the absence of her mark, his instinct to protect and rescue her would prevail above all else. Exhaled audibly to himself.

His mark on her designated her as the pack’s Luna.

He contemplated her potential reaction to that. There are numerous uncertainties currently, which greatly troubled him; the situation was excessively complex.

He instructed Nolan to monitor her every 30 minutes to ascertain her condition and determine if she had regained consciousness. If she awakened, he would likely perceive her through their partially bonded state; concentrating on that, he could indeed sense her presence. He considered it to be satisfactory. Additionally, I requested him to provide an update on Logan’s condition, which appeared largely unchanged; he still seemed to harbour resentment towards him.

Brianna’s Perspective

Brianna’s eyes momentarily opened, acknowledged her departure from the street, and then shut again, too fatigued to remain awake for more than a few seconds.

Reopened at a later time, this occurrence would transpire multiple times before she could successfully open them and maintain them in that position.

She could perceive the monotonous yet persistent beeping, akin to the rhythmic sound of a mechanical heartbeat.

The odour of cleaning agents permeated her olfactory senses, and as she glanced upward, she discovered a suspended bag that could only contain blood, with tubing extending into her left arm.

She groaned as her body throbbed from the recent battle.

The injuries she sustained.

A foolish vampire had bitten her and fed on her, and Layla, as she discerned, was evidently in a private hospital room, as she permitted her gaze to traverse the dimly lit space. Only a single lamp illuminated the area near a petite woman engaged in knitting while seated on a couch, with Logan asleep beside her.

She redirected her gaze to the petite woman, illuminated by the lamp light she employed for her knitting. The woman was staring directly at her, appearing somewhat familiar, yet she could not identify her at that moment, being excessively fatigued to concentrate.

“Where am I located?”Brianna enquired. The odour unmistakably indicated the hospital environment, compounded by the blood transfusion she was undergoing; however, she remained oblivious to the hospital’s location, finding her presence there disconcerting.

“In the pack, dear,” the petite woman informed her. Those words caused her eyes to widen significantly, “What Pack?”Brianna inhaled sharply. She was unaware of any wolf packs in Canada, although she speculated that they might exist; she was certain that vampire packs were present, but had no knowledge of any wolfen packs in the region.

She sat bolt upright, suddenly afflicted with a severe headache. Grasping her head tightly, she experienced intense throbbing and dizziness, accompanied by widespread pain from her unhealed injuries, likely due to her own prior unconsciousness. She was just beginning to sense her wolf.

“Recline once more, dear Brianna,” the woman rose and set aside her knitting, her tone soft and gentle.

“You have lost a significant amount of blood due to your injuries and the feeding; please attempt to relax.”

“Which Pack?”Brianna reiterated her statement but reclined again, struggling to maintain an upright posture. She had never sustained such severe injuries in her entire life. Experienced fatigue.

A woman, no taller than five feet, approached her. She appeared gentle and compassionate, donned in dark purple nursing scrubs, looked down at her, and smiled, saying, “Your pack, my dear.”

Brianna briefly closed her eyes again and then regarded the woman with a frown moments later. “I do not possess a Pack,” she informed the woman, having been of rogue status for eight years. It was entirely nonsensical to her. The assertion.

“Indeed, you do, dear,” she smiled at her once more. “As a Luna, it is expected.”

Brianna’s gaze shifted to the woman now, “Wh.. What is the inquiry?“That was incomprehensible to her,” Layla thought, as her hand instinctively moved to the left side of her neck, the location of a Mate’s Mark.

She experienced the sensitivity and tingling of contact with that area, sensed the imprint where fangs had penetrated her neck, and perceived the intricate design accompanying the Mark. She abruptly withdrew her fingers, exclaiming, “No.” She did not remember that, felt her heart rate accelerate, and heard the beeping of the machines in the room intensify significantly. In what manner? When did this occur?

Gazed at the woman, “How long have I been unconscious?”Her gaze was fixed on that woman, and she was no longer fatigued. Fully alert.

“As I comprehend, two days.”

“Who are you?”Although the woman appeared somewhat familiar, she could not precisely identify her.

“Helen, the Mate of Alpha Benjamin.”
