The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 147

Aggression

Observed both frown at her, then at one another before proceeding.

Ryder’s Perspective

Ryder beamed upon receiving a text message from Nolan, nearly elevating his spirits for the day. All it stated was, “Brianna’s phone LOL, I’ll delete this.” Ryder was unaware of how Nolan had accomplished it, but he had somehow obtained Brianna’s phone, unlocked it, and sent him a message from it.

He exhibited considerable curiosity regarding that matter. I will need to enquire with him eventually. He was aware that Brianna was in a meeting and contemplated whether she had set her bag down, allowing the man to rummage through it. I was uncertain whether he favoured that concept. However, if that were the case, he could absolve him, as he now possessed a means to contact her, message her, and persistently engage her in conversation at his discretion, regarding any topic of his choosing.

However, it is advisable to refrain for the time being. She remained aloof and might obstruct him if he annoyed her excessively. Utilise it solely when necessary for the time being. However, his curiosity was overwhelming him. He messaged Nolan using his personal phone to enquire.

“How did you accomplish that?””

Logan and I were engaged in a game on her phone while she participated in her meeting. Logan entered the lavatory and informed him that it is unsanitary to bring the phone inside. I would retain it. A smiley emoticon.

“Thank you, Nolan.”

“Recall that upon our arrival at the pack, should you wish to penalise me for copulating with Stella.” Ryder shook his head. “I absolve you,” he responded.

The man could not be punished now that he had obtained Brianna’s number for him.

He contemplated whether Nolan was forming a connection with the boy. To all of them, Brianna had not seemed phased by Nolan going with them this afternoon, apparently just rolled her eyes at Nolan.

Ryder was reluctant for her to depart with Logan; however, with Nolan accompanying her, he reassured himself that they would be safe.

It was beneficial for her to be with Nolan, as it would allow her to familiarise herself with him and establish trust, particularly given that he would likely be staying in her hotel suite and spending considerable time with the three of them, since Nolan was likely to accompany Stella wherever she went.

It seemed that wherever Brianna went, Stella accompanied her, and naturally, Logan did as well. The woman would not distance herself from Nolan unless Stella accompanied him for a meal or a movie, exclusively the two of them.

Nolan was not allowing his Mate any space to breathe.

Pitiful woman, wished she appreciated possessive men. It undoubtedly appeared that Nolan was destined to be that.

Ryder disregarded it and resumed responding to emails concerning his business and pack matters when he received a message from his father enquiring about the moving van and whether Ryder had arranged for Brianna to resolve the issue for its collection.

He exhaled, no, he had not. He needed to address the matter today or, at the very least, initiate a discussion with her to ascertain her willingness to assist him.

Ryder was uncertain whether she would. Indeed, she had discovered that he remained her Mate, yet she had not mentioned it even once. Neither prior to nor subsequent to their running challenge this morning.

He was aware that Brianna was not impressed by his attempt to relocate her back to the pack.

At the very least, he comprehended a portion of that now. She was still aware that she was likely to oppose it at this juncture. She was aware that they remained Mates, had sensed it herself, and had not expressed a rejection to him, at least not thus far.

He hoped that she would not do so at all. He had expressed that he had not accepted it at that time, nor would he accept it now if she were to articulate it, and he was sincere in that assertion. Finding your Goddess-Gifted Mate was not always a straightforward endeavour, and when you did, it was significant. He would cherish her, provided she permitted him to do so; thus, one should value them.

He retrieved his phone and dialled Brianna’s number, which he had previously saved, appreciating its presence in his contacts. She was, in fact, the sole Brianna he was acquainted with. The name was aesthetically pleasing. The call was declined. He scowled at it and then sighed; Carlos had failed to input his phone number into her device.

He dispatched a brief message to inform her of his identity and request that she answer the call. Subsequently, I waited a minute before redialing her, and it took some time for her to respond. She would likely ponder how he obtained her number initially, but it would not take her long to deduce the truth; however, he could provide her with an alternative explanation to shield Nolan from her ire. He opposed her expelling the man from her hotel suite.

After a full minute of ringing, she ultimately answered the call, despite initially seeming reluctant, likely contemplating the consequences of not responding. “Yes.” There was no greeting, no mention of his name, and her tone conveyed clear annoyance at the necessity of conversing with him.

He maintained a casual demeanour, disregarding her irritation at his call, aware that she was unprepared for him to possess her number or to receive his calls. “Hello, Brianna.” He smiled, pleased that he could contact her at any time. “I have a dilemma; I require your assistance with cleaning up,” he stated candidly.

“Highly improbable,” he heard her remark; it did not convey belief in his words, nor did it suggest a willingness to assist him. Ryder was uncertain, as she was exceedingly difficult to interpret, even in close proximity. Brianna appeared to possess excellent control over her emotional responses, except in the instances of anger and aggression.
