The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 143

Dominance

Although she had heard Carlos concur with her, he also informed her of his obligations in Florida, indicating that he could not be present here consistently. Ryder required him; he was a crucial component of the leadership that managed Runwood Industries. She would be assigned a significant role within the company.

She vociferously expressed her disdain for receiving something merely due to her impending marriage, asserting that earning a livelihood was superior to inheriting one. The man abruptly halted and gazed at her. Brianna observed a fleeting expression of complete annoyance and slight anger in him; he had inherited his position within the pack rather than earned it, and Stella had just delivered a significant affront to him. Stella was unaware of that.

Logan gazed directly at her and shook his head.

He understood that Carlos was non-human and resided within Ryder’s Pack, and that Stella, as Carlos’ Mate, would be required to relocate to the Pack. He appeared to comprehend all of that already. Rowan likely comprehended it. However, their argument was increasingly becoming unruly.

Carlos was wandering around their hotel suite attempting to elucidate the situation to Stella, who was profoundly distressed about Devon assuming her position. She felt she was forfeiting everything she had diligently strived for; not only was she relinquishing her role as a full store manager here, but she was also coming to the realisation that she was losing her position in Colorado at Brianna’s store, as Carlos was unequivocally rejecting the prospect of a long-distance relationship to determine if they would ‘work out,’ in Stella’s words. He informed her that he was already aware they would succeed and that he would not engage in a long-distance relationship. It was entirely intolerable, and she was required to travel to Florida.

Insisting that she relocate was an erroneous assertion, and Brianna exhaled, observing Stella’s response to being commanded. She despised nothing more than that. Her father had consistently attempted to dictate her actions throughout her life, exerting control, and now Carlos was doing the same. She would have to rescue him a second time.

“Enough,” Brianna finally exclaimed. “Stella, I will construct a store for you in Helena, Florida, near your location.” “You can run it.” She needed to devise a method to terminate their dispute before it escalated into something dreadful, leading Stella to terminate their relationship and sever their bond, a scenario Brianna could genuinely envision.

Stella had fixed her gaze upon her, visibly astonished by her assertion. However, it was Carlos’ relief at her statement that prompted her to contemplate whether he was also recognising the impending loss of his Mate; subsequently, he traversed the room and embraced Stella. “I can manage that.”

Stella attempted to push him away, but he maintained his grip until she acquiesced, embracing him and submitting to his dominance, as he insisted on having his way.

Brianna merely shook her head at the man’s need for dominance, despite his cheerful demeanour as he leaned against her store window, appearing quite content. She had rescued him on multiple occasions; he owed her one, or rather, two favours.

“I require coffee,” she murmured. Upon checking her watch, Devon was still approximately five to ten minutes away based on his most recent phone call. She was aware of a coffee shop a few establishments down the street; she considered sending Stella but recognised that Stella wished to be present for the discussion, so she opted to wait.

Logan had informed her of his boredom on five occasions; she had provided him with her phone since he had forgotten his at the hotel, allowing him to purchase a game to occupy himself. He was presently leaning against the window beside Carlos, who was either assisting or obstructing him, and she observed that Stella was observing the man with Logan.

Speculated whether Stella was considering Carlos’s potential as a father, as most wolves do, forming strong bonds with their offspring if circumstances unfolded as intended. Dismissed that thought, moved away from the store to assess the distance to the coffee shop, intending to procure her own coffee, and observed Devon approaching rapidly.

She smiled at him, and he raised a hand in greeting, allowing them all to enter the store. She gazed at Logan, while Carlos smiled directly at her, “I will supervise him, Brianna.”

Logan rolled his eyes, presumably believing he did not require supervision; he would need to acclimatise to this, as it was improbable that Ryder would permit him to venture outside the pack without oversight. She nodded at Carlos, acknowledging that she would also need to acclimatise to it, she presumed. Ascended to Stella’s office.

She positioned herself on Stella’s desk, allowing Stella to occupy her own desk, a situation she anticipated would not be feasible for an extended period. Subsequently, he expressed his apologies to Devon for convening this unplanned meeting. Subsequently, I elucidated the present circumstances, indicating that Stella had located Carlos, the individual residing below, and that she would henceforth be unable to manage the store here.

Permitted Stella to propose her own role as the store manager to the man. He appeared somewhat astonished at Stella’s impending absence but accepted the job offer with a smile. A discussion occurred regarding his new salary and the provision of Stella’s company car.

He was content with that. She informed him about the flat she had rented for a year, but he declined as he already owned his own home. It was unnecessary.

They deliberated on his involvement in identifying his successor, with the plan for Stella to review prior applications for the assistant manager position, forwarding those she deemed suitable for him to interview and select his own assistant manager from her approved candidates.

Additionally, I informed the man that he would now report to Stella, who would be responsible for supervising the overseas offices. Gestured to Stella to cease her enquiries. They may deliberate on it subsequently. Inform him that she will prepare the contracts incorporating all the new details and send them via email promptly.

Stella intended to retain her furniture for her new office in Florida once the store was established and sought to have it shipped there. Brianna disapproved of the woman with a shake of her head.
