Upon reaching the 30-minute mark, she observed that Logan was maintaining a steady pace, capable of running for an hour beside her in the absence of Rowan, and contemplated Rowan’s strength. His gaze met hers, and Rowan was immediately present, his wolf grinning at her.
Brianna laughed; Layla had not yet participated in the run and might not do so at all with Ryder accompanying them. She would soon discover the truth. Layla was proficient and robust, possessing considerable stamina, yet her true enjoyment lay in sprinting at maximum velocity. She exhibited rapidity. Consequently, Rowan was unable to succeed in the race.
After one hour, she heard Enzo declare the end.
“I triumph once more,” Logan exclaimed with a broad grin, brimming with enthusiasm. She reciprocated his smile, pleased not only for Logan but also for Rowan. Although she was aware that they were approaching his limit, or would do so shortly.
Brianna, however, had acquired the skill of running a considerable time ago. Running served as a beneficial escape for her during childhood; she would run until completely fatigued, alleviating the pain of solitude, and by the age of 11, she was capable of traversing the entire outer perimeter of the pack. She persisted in running as a means of escape, relentlessly pushing herself until she could no longer continue, thereby enhancing her endurance and stamina over the years.
Capable of running in human form for extended durations. Her longest duration to date was 3 hours alone without Layla. She understood that if Layla participated, they could potentially sustain their activity for a significantly longer duration; however, she also recognised that Layla would not engage until she felt adequately prepared. Subsequently, would exert complete force upon her. However, they had not been required to do so for an extended period.
Directed her gaze towards Ryder and subsequently Luca. They appeared quite at ease and relaxed, as did she. She contemplated absently, recognising that they were the two most formidable in the pack, potentially rivalled only by their fathers.
Logan and Rowan were the subsequent pair to terminate their engagement, with Rowan expressing irritation by snarling at her before departing after one hour and twenty minutes.
“You are merely young,” she remarked, yet she chuckled to herself as she observed him stride over to Stella and settle into her lap to sulk, muttering, “It’s only a matter of time.” Both she and Layla found him genuinely entertaining. It was probably merely a question of time. When that day arrived, they were genuinely going to appreciate it.
“Somewhat of a sore loser,” Ryder remarked, clearly observing the boy as well.
She directed her gaze towards him, arching an eyebrow, “Likely, he inherits your traits in that regard.” She aimed her remark at him, observing his astonishment as he blinked, while his entire unit chuckled in amusement, leading her to ponder if she had accurately assessed the situation. Resumed her running on the treadmill, redirecting her attention to the activity.
Two hours in, Luca expressed his frustration with a “I’m done,” indicating annoyance at his inability to keep pace with her, likely due to the Beta in him disliking being outperformed. Observed him approach the remainder of the unit.
He returned shortly and provided her and Ryder with a bottle of water each. She smirked directly at him, mirroring his expression when he initially commenced using the treadmill. She merely sipped it; she did not wish to experience water sloshing within her abdomen, nor to hear it, for that matter. It may be highly distracting.
Felt Layla actively participated in the challenge after two and a half hours, seemingly unwilling to concede. Both were aware that few could outrun an Alpha wolf, and Brianna was resolute in her intention to challenge him more rigorously than ever before. Conversely, Layla distinctly perceived that she would compel that man to run until he could no longer continue.
While they would probably not surpass him in a purely speed-based race, it was entirely feasible for them to outpace him in an endurance, long-distance run. However, given that his wolf possessed abundant stamina, it was improbable that his human body was accustomed to running for extended periods as hers was. In his lupine form, he could likely run indefinitely; however, she surmised that his human musculature was protesting vehemently.
She was beginning to experience fatigue and would likely require an extensive rest period afterward. Conversely, she would probably obtain the urgently required sleep that she had missed the previous night.
After 2 hours and 45 minutes, she heard him inhale, prompting Layla to snort in amusement at the sound. Brianna could distinctly sense her wolf’s desire to overpower him, compelling her to accelerate to the maximum and surpass his limits.
“We can defeat him if he is compelled to sprint at full velocity,” she heard Layla say, directing her gaze towards the man himself. He was drenched in perspiration and his respiration was irregular; he was beginning to fatigue, and she could perceive it all. All the indicative signs that he was exhausting “Carlos” prompted her to call out, then she directed her gaze towards the Gamma, “I desire a genuine challenge; approach and set your superior’s treadmill to maximum when I instruct you to.”
“Certainly, Brianna,” he appeared thoroughly entertained by her remarks.
