“It will require some time,” Ryder acknowledged.
“However, she acknowledged that she was your Mate, and I can ascertain that she experienced the Bond.” The moment you touched her, Layla fled immediately and became extremely agitated.
Experiencing a sensation of delightful tingling. They genuinely believed their rejection was definitive, which came as a significant shock when it was not.
“However, it remains necessary to transport her home.”
Nolan remarked softly, “Indeed, do not hasten; they may not be prepared yet.”
“I am aware that she is not.” However, we cannot remain here indefinitely.
“I would not recommend exerting pressure on her, as it may result in further rejection.”
“I will not acquiesce as I did previously,” Logan asserted. “I refuse to relinquish my Mate without resistance.”
“It is likely to remain a struggle, although hopefully not a physical one.”
“It appeared that Layla was eager for confrontation,” Logan remarked with a frown. “Her demeanour is entirely aggressive, which I know significantly disturbs Aiden.”
“Her wolf experienced as much anguish as Brianna did,” Nolan sighed.
“How are you feeling, Nolan? You appeared relieved to finally connect with her.”
“You are unaware; it is a relief that the woman exposed my true self, but now I possess her.” It is peculiar; Oscar’s senses cannot be applied to her in any manner. Must genuinely observe her.
“I am aware; that is precisely what I am undertaking.” Deactivate all my wolf senses to concentrate on her, a challenging task given that it occurs instinctively; I must consciously refrain from employing them.
“Indeed, I concur,” Nolan affirmed. “What are the next steps?”“
“Do you believe she will flee?””
“Unlikely, as she must consider both Logan and Stella, her family.” She is now aware of your connection, likely concealed for a few days, unable to escape; she understands that you and I will simply pursue and capture. There is no purpose in fleeing.
“You can no longer evade me.”
“What kind of watch do you desire for her?” Is there insufficient personnel to implement rotating shifts at all exits?”
“Do you believe Stella could be persuaded to disclose any movements?””
I observed Nolan as he contemplated the question, stating, “I don’t know, to be honest; they’re quite close.” They resemble sisters, I would assert. You might consider conversing with her, however…
Aiden instilled fear in her.
Nolan remarked with a nod, “I am aware, and she observed the alteration in your eye colour.”
“Perhaps 6-hour shifts at the hotel entrance would suffice.” Ryder sighed, contemplating whether he should have accepted West’s offer for additional personnel, although that aircraft could only accommodate 9 passengers comfortably, limiting him to 2 additional men.
Brianna’s Perspective
Brianna endured a protracted night of gazing at the ceiling and the wall, attempting to comprehend the events that had transpired. She recognised that Nolan had effectively employed his Gamma’s charm to maintain her composure. She could sense his aura following her to her suite.
Throughout the lift ride, his hand remained on her, and she was powerless to intervene. Foolish Gamma and his Enchantment. He had expended all his resources on her; his formidable strength rendered her incapable of resisting him once he achieved skin-on-skin contact. Now irritated, she had believed that being a rogue would afford her some immunity, but she realised otherwise.
Regarding the other matter?
Ryder’s touch was imbued with the electric sparks she had felt that night with him. She was uncertain regarding how to proceed with that matter. Layla was silent, seemingly lost in her thoughts and appearing to be asleep, yet Brianna suspected otherwise, believing she was deliberately disregarding her surroundings.
I was unable to comprehend Layla’s emotions in any capacity. She had isolated herself. This was not the first occasion on which Brianna had observed her in this manner. It indicated her unwillingness to discuss or confront the emotions they had both experienced the previous night when Ryder had made contact with them.
Brianna was aware that Layla had escaped from her Mate, just as Brianna had attempted to do. Although she had not progressed significantly, Ryder was reluctant to release her. Neither she nor Layla managed it effectively.
However, Layla’s typical aggression and threats in response to being touched did not manifest; she merely retreated to the distant corners of Brianna’s mind. She isolated herself and remained in that state; she was, in fact, still present. Brianna was powerless to compel her to come forward. She would do that only if and when she chose to do so.
The sun was just beginning to rise, and she remained no closer to determining her course of action. She had scarcely slept, although she recognised that slumber had occurred at some point, as evidenced by the bizarre dreams that lacked coherence; it felt as though she were confined within a structure from which escape was impossible, regardless of her repeated attempts.
She speculated that it was connected to the chaos engulfing her life, which seemed to be spiralling beyond her control, and she was swiftly losing the ability to intervene. Her uncertainty was permeating her subconscious and inducing bizarre dreams.
Brianna’s bedroom door opened, and Logan ascended onto the bed. “It’s dawn,” he said with a smile.
Brianna nodded and sat up. “What prompts your early rising?””
“Rowan desires to run.” He smiled directly at her.
