The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 120

Incorrectly

Although he was convinced that Brianna possessed a marginal advantage over Valeria’s position, Valeria, as a former member of West’s pack, was obligated to adhere to directives.  Brianna was aware of her rogue status and recognised that she was not obligated to follow his commands. She was probably aware that he needed to control his Alpha temperament in the presence of Stella, a human, and his son, whom he had just encountered today and who perceived all wolves as cruel and unpleasant.

Logan’s response to his self-introduction was as frigid as his mother’s remark, “I know, Mum informed me already when I enquired.” It conveyed a lack of emotion and was exceedingly dismissive, suggesting that the boy was indifferent to the fact that he was his father. The boy was likely 7 years old and had interacted with the human world, possibly having friends without fathers. He had been without a father throughout his life. He was uncertain whether the boys’ wolf regarded him as family, despite their understanding of his significance to them; it was possible they were indifferent, given their previous interactions with wolves.

Expressed pleasure in meeting him, anticipating some response from the boy, even smiled directly at him; he was truly delighted to meet him, to spend time with him, and to share the same space. He still yearned to embrace the boy, desiring that father-son hug; however, given the circumstances or the absence thereof, it was improbable that he would receive that hug in the near future.

It was scarcely a minute later when he heard Brianna take a deep breath, and suddenly Nolan’s Gamma’s southern accent emerged from him. “Brianna, it is acceptable.” He has only just recognised that an additional issue was occurring.

His gaze shifted to her; he had been concentrating on Logan until that moment. Ceased.

She appeared impassive to him, seemingly devoid of emotion, yet he understood that this was merely superficial.

Nolan’s response was highly indicative. Her hands remained motionless above her plate, suggesting her concentration on it, while an internal conflict transpired within her mind.

“If you touch me, Carlos, you will lose that hand,” she muttered. Shortly after his Gamma addressed her, attempting to employ his Charm to alleviate her current emotions, he recognised her exceptional control over her facial expressions; she was inscrutable to him. However, Nolan remained impervious; one could not surpass that man and his instincts.

He observed that Brianna did not glance in Nolan’s direction, sensed his aura emanating from him; Ryder surmised that although she may no longer exist as a wolf, she had spent the majority of her life within the pack and understood the role and function of a Gamma. He recognised that she was aware of his intention to attempt to touch her, despite Nolan’s lack of movement.

Stella abruptly rose and walked away from Nolan, forcefully extracting her arm from his grasp when he attempted to ascertain her distress. The man was evidently oblivious to the situation, and frankly, so was Ryder. To his knowledge, Nolan had not committed any wrongdoing.

Brianna stood as Nolan did, instructed Logan to remain, then stopped Nolan with a mere hand gesture before turning to pursue Stella. Brianna unequivocally understood the recent events and was aware that Nolan had just distressed her friend.

The bewildered man observed his human companion abruptly close the bedroom door, then turned to Ryder for clarification. Ryder shook his head, prompting the man to glance at each of them in succession.

Neither party was aware. This only exacerbated his confusion. Fortunately, Stella remained in the suite and did not provoke Oscar. Entered Nolan’s room unannounced. Possibly connected to him in some manner, that was advantageous.

He observed that Logan was gazing directly at the closed door, through which his mother had just followed Stella, his head inclined marginally to the right. Ryder smiled, recognising that his son was employing his wolf-like hearing to discern the events occurring in that room, demonstrating a protective nature not solely directed towards his mother.

Speculated whether Rowan perceived himself as the Alpha Wolf of his diminutive pack, consisting solely of the three of them. It was highly feasible. He exhibited all the characteristics of an Alpha, endeavouring to safeguard what belonged to him.

It became apparent that Brianna had left Logan alone in the room with him and his entire Alpha Unit, indicating a modicum of trust had been bestowed. An advantageous circumstance.

He attuned his hearing to the room where both Stella and Brianna were, aware that everyone else present was similarly engaged, all perplexed by the events and filled with curiosity.

Brianna attempted to console Stella, who had misconstrued Nolan’s use of his Gamma Charm while gazing at Brianna as an indication of romantic interest, a notion that was entirely erroneous. He sighed upon hearing her sob and observed Nolan promptly head towards the room.

“Disregard it.” Ryder dismissed the mind-link directed at him. Brianna understands her better; allow her to soothe Stella.

Nolan retorted, “She believes I will betray her.” He evidently desired to enter and resolve the matter.

“Since you have approached this incorrectly, allow Brianna to assist her.” He sensed that this was not unfamiliar to Brianna; she had encountered this situation previously with her friend and had managed it before.  Brianna was also aware that Stella was Nolan’s mate.
