The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 117

Skeptical

“You will be perfectly fine.” Carlos appears to be entirely unaware of his mistake, as he exhibited considerable confusion. I wager he is already eager to apologise, despite being unaware of his actions. I suspect he is lurking outside, fearful of losing you.

“I am sceptical; men never engage in such behavior.”

Individuals from Wood Industries possess a distinct character; they are often quite candid regarding their desires. Typically, they will express their emotions directly. Hasn’t Carlos already accomplished that? She enquired, fully aware that the man had asserted his claim over her.

“What?””

“Come on, Stella, the man declared you were his, did he not?”“She urged.”

Heard Stella giggle softly and then affirmed, “Mine.”

“You will be alright.” Simply recall that he possesses an unusual occupation. At times, he desires to provide solace to others. It is merely his occupation, not a reflection of his sentiments towards others. I assure you of that.

“It is merely his occupation…” Stella acquiesced, although her tone lacked complete conviction.

“Indeed, I have observed it in operation extensively during my time there,” she sighed gently. “Once his task concludes, he meanders away, relinquishing it without concern, merely a job. You must bear this in mind, perhaps for a month or so, I would estimate.”

“One month?” What occurs subsequently?”

“I surmise you will marry; that man outside is unlikely to delay in escorting you down the aisle.”

“What?” That is premature.

“Within Wood Industries, individuals are reputed to marry upon their initial encounter, which is rather peculiar, and they exhibit no divorce rate, demonstrating unwavering loyalty to one another.”

“That is simply peculiar.”

“It is simply the nature of the situation; you will comprehend it, come to appreciate it, and find your place there.”

“Why did you depart?””

“I…” I did not belong, Stella. It has always been challenging to articulate,” she remarked with a shrug. “Never will,” she lamented. “However, do not concern yourself with my situation; focus on your own emotions and allow yourself to love him. I understand your desire, yet fear holds you back.” However, it is not necessary for you to be. He will never harm you; he already possesses affection for you.

Observed Stella contort her face in a gesture of scepticism.

“Oh, he traversed half the globe without any purpose, did he?” Men do not engage in that behaviour.

“Brianna…Ryder Wood has also arrived.”

“All of his other men did likewise.” “He arrived for his son, Stella,” she declared bluntly. “Are you feeling improved now?”Stella acquiesced with a nod.

“You may enter, Carlos,” she declared with composure. The door opened, revealing Stella’s astonishment. I smiled, leaned over, and embraced her once more. “It may seem peculiar, but you will acclimatise to it.” He will perpetually be aware of your location.

“Perpetually?”She murmured.

“Indeed.” No respite from the wild creature you have encountered. Carlos was heard chuckling softly at her choice of words.

“I appreciate your assistance, Brianna.”

Brianna gazed directly at him, remained silent, then exited the room and shut the door to facilitate a private conversation. It was improbable that anyone would overhear their conversation. Indeed, she had assisted him, and in multiple ways, she believed; however, her actions were not motivated by him, but rather by her desire for Stella, a woman deserving of a partner who would love and cherish her. Regrettably, that individual was also a wolf.

Feeling the weight of everyone’s attention, she sighed, returned to the table, and seated herself. She glanced at Logan and reassured him, “She’s alright, sweetie.”

“Thank you, Brianna,” stated Enzo, Carlos’s sibling.

She gazed at him. “I undertook this for her, not for him.”

“I am aware of that; nonetheless, I appreciate it.”

“Given that Stella is expected to reside here permanently, Logan and I will depart now.”

“Brianna, please.” Ryder rose and gazed down at her. “Remain and converse with me; I desire your return to your rightful place.”

“I do not belong there; I never did,” she declared flatly. “Come on, Logan.” She extended her hand as she rose.

“Brianna, you are indeed meant to be there; I desire your presence.” He extended his hand to touch her.

She retreated from him. “No, this is not my home; I now recognise it never was. Please return and leave us alone.”

He abruptly positioned himself before her, obstructing her exit from the suite. Brianna, I am aware that your existence within the Pack was unpleasant. I concur. I sincerely apologise, but I request that you join me for a private dinner to facilitate an earnest conversation.

Luca, Enzo, or even Stella can supervise Logan; it is merely one dinner. Is that truly an unreasonable request?”

“Yes,” she declared bluntly; he was oblivious to her existence within the pack. “I refuse.”

“Enough,” he abruptly interjected, silencing her. “I do not wish to hear it.” “Do not proceed, Brianna; it is painful.” He then turned and exited the hotel suite forcefully.

“Brianna, did you not just hear him pleading with you, and Alpha imploring you to listen to him, to acknowledge his suffering, while you disregard him at every opportunity?”

Brianna murmured, “He is unaware of what pain entails.”

Luca sighed while rising from the table and stated, “Indeed, he does.” As he approached the door, she added, “You nearly caused his demise once, Brianna, and he was utterly oblivious to what had transpired.”

Subsequently, he exited the room.

Brianna scowled, almost murdered him once? She was highly skeptical that it was, in fact, the opposite. The last occasion she observed him, he was alive, resting in his own bed.
