The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 116

Contemplated

“I did not deceive you, Stella.” “He desires no one else, not at any time,” she attempted to comfort her friend. “I am aware of this; it is merely…” “Complicated,” she embraced her firmly.  Although Brianna may not have a fondness for wolves, Stella is entitled to her happiness.

“I desire simplicity, Brianna. I seek a singular man whose gaze remains steadfast; why is this so difficult to attain?”

Brianna understood that each individual present would utilise their wolf’s auditory capabilities to eavesdrop on the conversation, rendering any privacy unattainable; however, it was likely prudent for Nolan to be informed about the proceedings within. He had inadvertently harmed Stella, did not intend to, was unaware of his actions, appeared quite perplexed, and furthermore, he recognised that he could not simply enter and charm her into tranquilly.

“I am uncertain, Stella,” she sighed once more, and indeed, she was.

Her Mate had been oblivious to her existence, thus she comprehended the anguish of desiring someone who yearns for another. She had witnessed firsthand the way Logan gazed at Bianca, reminiscent of Stella’s experience when Miguel betrayed her, as she caught him in the act.

“He will never betray you, Stella; it is not in his nature, and he did not lie about that.”

“I comprehend; everything will be elucidated to you.” Merely intricate, Carlos’s occupation… how does one accomplish this?  Brianna withdrew and gazed down at her. “Please sit. I will attempt to clarify what I can; it may be somewhat perplexing, but will you listen?””

She observed Stella nodding, likely seeking any reassurance to convince herself that Carlos desired no one else, needing to hear it. Her connection with Carlos appeared robust, presumably due to her having been Mated by both Carlos and his Wolf, suggesting that she had reciprocated the bond at some juncture. It was likely with his wolf this morning, although she was uncertain if it involved both of them.

They were seated on the bed.  Brianna wiped the tears from the woman’s face and sighed, “Wood Industries is an exceedingly private company; entry to the headquarters is restricted, as it is a closely-knit, tightly secured community. Carlos’s position is not that of a CEO, contrary to what one might find in a search.” She observed Stella nod in acknowledgement, indicating she had already conducted that search. “He has a distinctly defined role to fulfil.” Somewhat akin to a counsellor or psychologist, I suppose. He possesses a keen ability to interpret emotions. “You could describe me as an empath.”

“They are not genuine, Brianna,” Stella remarked with a frown.

“Indeed, they are,” she affirmed. “Carlos’s role involves assessing individuals and attempting to soothe them when distressed.” She refrained from disclosing that this applied solely to the women he interacted with, as it would likely prompt Stella to flee the hotel room.

“I…” He perceived something from me; that was all. Entered work mode automatically.

“Is he uninterested?””

Brianna chuckled gently. “No,” she replied, shaking her head.

“No one in that room is interested in me; only Logan is.”

Stella frowned at her and said, “That may not be accurate, Brianna.”

“It is, it’s acceptable,” she remarked with a shrug. “I never belonged there; that is why I departed.” I have previously conveyed this to you.

“However, Ryder communicated to me.”

Brianna interrupted her. “Halt, he merely desires his son, Stella.” He is likely to assert anything to gain entry into the gated community he owns.

“Does he possess an entire community?””

“Yes,” Brianna affirmed, then shifted the topic to “Carlos.” “will transport you there.”

“What?” However, I have a store to manage here!”

Brianna gazed directly at her and sighed once more, this time with greater weight. “Probably not any longer, I apologise. He will not permit you to reside halfway across the globe from him, and Stella? Frankly… Do you have an affinity for him?”

Observed the girl nervously bite her lip.

“It is acceptable, Stella; I can perceive that you do.”

“However, Brianna.”

“Do not concern yourself; I will advance Devon.” You employed him with the awareness of his competence. She reassured Stella, “You hired him to manage the store while you accompanied me to bridal and fashion shows, remember? You are not disappointing me.”

“I am not acquainted with him.”

“I understand, but you genuinely have feelings for him, do you not?” She was actively urging her best friend, whom she regarded as her sole family, to pursue a relationship with a wolf.

Brianna contemplated whether she was undeniably insane, as this would result in the loss of her sole genuine friend.

“I believe I do.”

“Do you believe so?”Brianna half-snorted, “Can you inform me if any man has ever made you feel as he does?” “I wager you cannot refuse him, nor do you desire to.” She playfully nudged her.

Observed Stella smile and respond, “No and No.”
