The Alpha’s Second Chance – Chapter 113

Blinked

Brianna stated, “That was not an accident,” before turning away from him. “Stella,” she summoned. She was indifferent to his opinion regarding Layla’s growling at his Beta, as they were unaware of her or her wolf’s true nature. He and his cohort had solely inflicted upon them suffering and isolation. Layla had no interest in becoming a wolf or being randomly touched by one, irrespective of the nature of the contact.

Observed Stella exiting a room, sensed Logan writhing to be released, and permitted him to descend, enquiring, “Are you well?””

Brianna enquired as Logan approached her and embraced her. Stella nodded, “I’m alright.” She knelt and embraced the boy, assuring him of her well-being while smiling.

“I feared you were harmed by them,” Logan stated.

“I am fine, Logan.” She embraced him gently.

“However, they captured you.”

She perceived Ryder exhale in irritation at the boy’s remarks, yet what could he anticipate from a 7-year-old, whose aunt had been taken and denied return upon request? Nolan observed the boy with a frown. Scowl more intensely when Stella failed to rectify him.

It is probable that she attempted to leave at some juncture and was denied permission, rendering her a prisoner; however, none of these wolves would perceive it as such, as circumstances operate distinctly in the human realm.

As she tilted her head slightly while observing Stella, Layla detected the scent of human blood, prompting her instincts to surge and a low growl to emanate from within Brianna’s mind. ‘Stella’s injured,’ she communicated to Pip.

She glanced at Stella, unable to discern any blood, yet distinctly detected its odour. “Stella, you are bleeding,” she remarked icily, directing her gaze at Carlos with accusation.

“Negative.”

“Indeed, you are or were.” What transpired? There was a sharpness to her voice; Layla was nearly at the surface.

“She merely sustained a scratch,” stated Carlos. “She is only slightly affected; I assure you, Brianna, she is well.” I observed as the man placed a hand on Stella, who did not recoil from him, likely unafraid; his touch may even evoke the solace associated with a Mate’s contact. Layla, however, remained indifferent; his wolf had bonded with her, resulting in her injury.

Does she require medical assistance? Have you verified it?She did not believe so. Wolves possessed innate healing capabilities, rendering minor injuries inconsequential to them; however, this was not the case for humans. I observed him momentarily blink in realisation that he had neglected to examine the injury. He was solely concerned with his own desires and his need to mate with her.

He initially exhibited indifference towards her injury, but a moment later, guilt was evident on his face. Indeed, not a wolf. She desired to reprimand him but refrained, as Stella was oblivious to their circumstances. “Stella, perhaps you should allow me to examine you,” Nolan suggested gently.

“What is the reason?”She appeared to lack comprehension entirely.

“Brianna is correct; a scratch may become infected,” he observed as his gaze shifted to Ryder. “The medical kit?””

“Luca,” Ryder declared.

What was the experience like? A room filled with wolves awaited her recognition of Stella’s blood scent.

“Logan, please come here,” she extended her hand, aware that Carlos would address the injuries inflicted by his own wolf, and soon found Logan’s hand in hers.

“Mother?”He appeared concerned.

“Carlos will care for her, or Layla will exact a toll from him,” she declared bluntly. Stella appeared quite perplexed by her assertion. Carlos’ gaze shifted directly to hers, constituting a blatant threat to the pack’s Gamma. Layla was indifferent to his identity; he held no significance for her. Has never occurred.

Stella would soon ascertain their identities; it was likely preferable for her to inform the woman. Stella had known Brianna and Logan for the entirety of Logan’s life, except for the initial six months. They had never harmed her; there existed a profound trust between them, which she preferred to characterise as a sisterly bond. Stella would recognise that not all wolves are malevolent and vicious beings. Not everyone was arrogant and selfish.

Based on Stella’s recent observations of this Alpha and his entire Unit, it was evident that their primary concern was fulfilling Ryder’s desires, characterised by the typical hubris of a wealthy individual seeking personal advantage. Stella had conducted research on him and conveyed this information to Brianna.

Questioned the rationale behind the woman’s actions. What had aroused her interest in the man? Or was she merely attempting to gain insight into what she would confront? Given that they had been pursuing her and Brianna since she declined to create that dress and expelled them.

Observed Carlos escorting Stella into his room, accompanied by the medical kit that Luca had provided. She directed her gaze at Ryder, raising an eyebrow in inquiry. “My apologies, I have been preoccupied recently.” “You might say other concerns are obscuring my vision.” He maintained unwavering eye contact with her.

Heard a knock on the hotel door, he remarked, “That will be lunch.” The woman pushing the cart blinked and gazed up at him when he smiled, while Brianna rolled her eyes and departed.

“I will attend to that, Logan,” Luca declared as he approached the door.
