She proceeded to town to procure a cup of tea and was returning when she turned her head at the sound of her name, “Daisy.” It was her father. “May I speak with you?””
She had not encountered him since Wesson had bitten her. He had obstructed all her efforts to establish a mind-link with him since that time. Unwilling to engage in conversation with her, he acknowledged her with a nod. I was uncertain about what to say to him, to be candid.
Did he come to apologise for assaulting her? To elucidate the reasons for its occurrence.
He approached her directly, maintaining eye contact throughout, which was somewhat unsettling as she could not interpret his facial expression. He unexpectedly extended his hand, seizing her neck and exerting maximum pressure on her throat. Agony surged within her at his contact, compounded by the sensation of him attempting to suffocate her.
She struggled to breathe, bewildered as he assaulted her once more. What is the reason? What actions had she taken to warrant this? His other hand encircled her throat as he drew her near, locking eyes with her in disbelief. “Do you comprehend what they did to me?””
She was unaware of the nature of his punishment. She attempted to speak, but could not articulate any words due to his constricting grip on her throat. She felt herself being elevated off the ground, causing her cup of tea and camera to drop from her grasp as both hands clutched his. She struggled to breathe, and pain coursed through her body at his mere touch.
She was urgently attempting to remove his hands from her neck, as she required air.
“I shall reimburse you for every strike and every blow I endured,” he snarled threateningly at her. He observed Wesson emerge, clawing at his hands and attempting to kick him. Her strength was insignificant compared to his, and the deprivation of oxygen, coupled with the agony of another man—who was not Caelan—contacting her was unbearable, incapacitating Amelia from transforming. It was overwhelming, even for her wolf.
Subsequently, his claws were extended. She attempted to scream but was unable to, as his claws penetrated her skin, pain surged through her, and she realised in that instant he intended to murder her. Wesson was imparting all his strength to him; they were going to kill her, and she remained oblivious to the reason.
“Father, please.” She established a mental connection to implore him to cease.
“I will kill you for it,” he and his wolf growled at her.
It was overwhelming; she could no longer raise her arms to combat him, weakened by oxygen deprivation, and darkness clouded her vision. He truly intended to kill her, and was in the process of doing so.
She then collapsed to the ground, immobilised, with darkness lingering at the periphery of her vision. She could feel her mouth opening and closing as she desperately attempted to inhale, striving for even a single breath. She was unable to; nothing was functioning. Despite her intense efforts and struggles to inhale, she was unable to facilitate the passage of air to her lungs. Amelia appeared to be panicking internally, seemingly incapable of providing assistance.
She could sense her wolf’s desperation as it attempted to compel their human form to shift, but was unable to do so due to disconnection. Subsequently, agony coursed through her entire body as she was lifted from the ground. “I go to you, Daisy, remain with me.” Mason’s voice appeared to be shouting at her, yet it resonated from a considerable distance as the darkness encroached upon her sight.
“I am unable to breathe,” she communicated telepathically to him.
“Please wait, Daisy.” “I understand,” he moved swiftly; something was gravely amiss with her. Darkness encroached upon her vision rapidly, yet she remained unable to breathe, regardless of her efforts.
Mason! She whispered mournfully through the mind-link, as Amelia had retreated to the distant recesses of her mind, succumbing to darkness.
Mason’s Perspective
Mason strode back to the front doors of the pack-house, exceedingly irritated by Daisy’s remarks. He found her discussions of s*x and her o*****s unnecessary, particularly given the tone she employed when referring to herself. His gaze fell upon Caelan as he approached the pack-house, and he immediately understood the reason behind her initiating that conversation and employing such allure.
She was aware of his presence there. He likely realised he had observed their conversation, possibly having seen him through her camera. The inquiry pertained to the duration for which the man had been standing there, listening. Daisy had explicitly articulated those points to deliberately provoke the man. Was she mentally unstable? It was entirely plausible that Caelan would become exceedingly angry and impose another directive upon her.
Was she unaware of the risks involved in tempting fate? Insane woman, destined to be his demise. He gazed at Caelan’s visage. The man was scowling directly at her, disregarding Mason entirely. Mason also heard her laughter and internally sighed. The woman appeared to be recklessly engaging with danger and deriving pleasure from it. Had she forgotten the extent of his possessiveness during their Mate Bond, or had she merely failed to recognise that his behaviour was indicative of his possessiveness?
Caelan had never, at any point, appreciated the notion of another person observing her unclothed. She was prohibited from participating in gym class, as it necessitated changing in the girls’ locker room, which he deemed unacceptable due to the possibility of other girls seeing her unclothed. Wolf training was also unavailable to her, as it required her to be n**e in order to transform into Amelia in the presence of both male and female wolves. On the one occasion she had done it, he had reacted with extreme fury.
He had not recognised that she was undergoing wolf training with the others until he observed Amelia on the training grounds, prompting him to storm down there in a fit of anger over their sighting of her unclothed form. Shouted to the entire field that training had concluded, physically lifted her diminutive wolf, Amelia, and proceeded to walk away to the side of the pack house. She ascended the omega stairs, forcefully opened the door, and instructed her wolf to enter, insisting that it shift and return to their room.
