Although it seemed the man would not terminate their alliance, Caelan understood the reason. He wished to maintain his invitation to the forthcoming mating ball.
If he severed their alliance, Caelan would promptly withdraw the invitation, yet he still desired to proceed, despite the improbability of his mother or father permitting it.
Specific regulations needed to be implemented regarding mating ball invitations. It was established that the pack had the unequivocal right to attend, could withdraw from the mating ball at their discretion for any reason, yet the inviting pack could not revoke the invitation without just cause. Caelan doubted that either of his parents would concur with the exclusion of Kaiden, given his un-mated wolves and the potential that Daisy was his Mate; in fact, they would likely insist on his presence, as one could not prevent an Alpha from being with his Luna.
Alpha Kaiden had implied, in front of all, that he would return to reclaim what was his when the moon was full. Caelan had known Kaiden for an extended period; he was aware of Daisy’s identity. Her previous significance to Caelan and her current status as no longer being his Mate.
He informed her that she was un-mated, having explicitly observed her neck, but only after he had kissed her. The contemptible individual was aware that she had belonged to Caelan and appeared utterly indifferent. Alternatively, he was genuinely attempting to irritate Caelan. If that were the case, he would have accomplished it.
Caelan was forcibly seated in a chair by his father and remained silent. Caelan recognised that Mason was absent from the room. “Where are you located?”He severed the mental connection.
“Bidding farewell to Alpha Kaiden from pack Caelan.” He appeared entirely subordinate, stating, ‘I will proceed to ensure Daisy’s well-being.’
“She is unharmed; I did not injure her.”
I am aware of that. However, she would have overheard that altercation, Caelan. The entire pack-house would have heard it.
Commenced immediately after your departure from her room. Subsequent to extricating her from the embrace of another Alpha. “She will be concerned.”
“Acceptable.”
A glass of bourbon was placed in his hand. “Consume it immediately and compose yourself.” Explain to me what transpired, Caelan.
Caelan gazed at the glass but refrained from consuming its contents, placing it on the coffee table before him; he had no desire to drink it whatsoever. “He had Daisy positioned against the wall,” he asserted, confident that no further explanation was necessary for his father.
His father positioned himself before him and gazed directly at him, saying, “Caelan, son.” Attacking guests is unacceptable. It has the potential to initiate a conflict.
“He will not initiate anything.” Not while Daisy is present. He desires her.
“What if she is his Mate?” Caelan! You must confront it.
“I comprehend that,” Caelan conceded his understanding, yet he was not obliged to accept it, nor was he compelled to permit her attendance at that exasperating mating ball.
As the Alpha, it was his prerogative to determine who could participate. Despite her exclusion from attendance, Alpha Kaiden would still surveil the pack territory in search of her and track her scent regardless of her location.
Daisy’s Perspective
She remained in her room, eavesdropping on the altercation occurring in the hallway, and was certain it involved Caelan and Alpha Kaiden. It was evident that Caelan had probably instigated that altercation.
Within less than 30 seconds of her exiting the room, a confrontation ensued.
The noise was intense and hostile, indicating that the altercation involved more than just their direct confrontation; others in the hallway were also attempting to intervene. There was considerable shouting occurring. She recognised only a few voices, likely belonging to visiting pack Alphas and Betas. Only other Alphas and Betas would attempt to intervene and halt the situation.
It required approximately 10 minutes for silence to prevail in the hallway. Daisy stood there, biting her lip, uncertain of how to proceed.
Understood the prudence of refraining from investigating the situation or assessing the injured or potentially sedated individuals. Roamed within her room and contemplated who was wounded. Were both individuals injured? Was it significant for either party? Would this initiate a conflict? She did not pray to the goddess herself.
Daisy wished to prevent any harm resulting from her actions, as she sought to avert a conflict between her pack and the Silver Moon Pack. She shut her eyes and implored that all were safe, that all would be well.
She sank onto the couch and gazed at the door, which remained closed for nearly 30 minutes before Mason appeared. She gazed up at him with concern.
All individuals are well. Minor injuries; their wolves will facilitate swift healing,” he informed her.
She merely nodded and remained silent, uncertain of what to articulate.
“What is the reason for Daisy?”He enquired as he entered the room and shut the door.
“I committed no wrongdoing; the man initiated the kiss,” she stated candidly.
“You ought to be more discerning,” he sighed. “Caelan cannot perceive that Daisy.”
“What is the reason?” He never desired my return at that time! What is the cause of your current anger? One would assume he would be pleased to be rid of me; what of Lydia? What is her sentiment regarding his reaction? He is going to harm his own companion, Mason.
She understood that once more, unfortunate Lydia would have experienced his treachery towards her. This was not the case.
“Do not concern yourself with Lydia… and he does not wish to eliminate you, Daisy; he merely requires time to acclimatise.” During your previous visit, you were his Mate.
