The Alpha’s Possession – Chapter 59

Permit

“Who perpetrated this upon you?”He posed a direct inquiry to her.

He was the Alpha; she needed to inform him.

To his irritation, she murmured “no one.” It was a blatant falsehood. Observe her condition; she was reluctant to disclose information to him. Was she safeguarding that individual? His gaze shifted to his Beta, “Joe?”He enquired, aware that the man would comprehend his implication.

“She will not disclose that information to me either,” his Beta informed him, and it was his Beta who was entirely forthright.

Caelan redirected his gaze towards Daisy. Why would she remain silent regarding this matter? His responsibility was to manage pack members and enforce discipline. She remembered that undoubtedly. He redirected his gaze to the injury, unmistakably a wolf’s bite, thus suggesting that MASON had been correct. An individual’s wolf had assaulted Amelia. There existed a likelihood that they did not recognise her. Despite her unlikelihood of having the pack’s scent, he detected the distinctive aroma of the pack on her, reminiscent of damp moss.

Daisy finally raised her gaze to him, encountering his eyes, which reflected sadness. He was uncertain about how to proceed with her. In all honesty, he was not inclined to instruct Alpha Order to inform him that he had already inflicted harm upon her twice within the past 24 hours, the last instance resulting from his anger. She merely gazed at him, anticipating his action, and he was acutely aware of it. What reason would she have to think differently, given their historical context?

“She will require sutures, Alpha.”

“Execute it,” Caelan declared bluntly. This was not her initial experience of being treated for injuries. He departed from the room. Mason trailed him and shut the door behind him.

“Who was the individual?” Did you detect any odour?”

“I may need to investigate further,” Mason acknowledged.

“Make an educated guess for me.” Wolves typically exhibit aggression when under attack, unless,” he paused.

“I believe it was her biological father.” John, alongside Wesson, his wolf.

Caelan directed his gaze towards the man. “Are you certain of that?”It lacked coherence. John had been vigilant in safeguarding his daughter. What would motivate him or his wolf to assault her? He recognised that she appeared somewhat altered and emitted a faintly distinct scent; however, that man would recognise his own kin. “It lacks coherence,” Caelan conceded.

“No, it does not; he was a commendable father, to the best of my recollection.”

Caelan concurred with that. Daisy had been a joyful child, but her happiness diminished upon awakening beside him at the age of 16.

Is he on duty tonight?”

“Northeastern border.”

“Where did you locate her?””

“In the vicinity of the pack-house and the northeastern boundary.”

Caelan exhaled, “It appears you are indeed correct.”

Mason merely acquiesced with a nod.

This was unsatisfactory. It was highly improbable that she would disclose any information to him if he were her father. Her quiet and melancholic demeanour could certainly be attributed to her probable confusion regarding the events that transpired. It is probable that he did not anticipate it either; what child fears their own father, a man who, by all accounts, cherished his daughter? Something was amiss, and he was aware of it.

Dr. Maurice exited the suite, regarded Caelan, and shook his head. “I dislike the necessity of tending to that girl’s injuries each time I encounter her, Alpha.”

“I share your sentiments.” Caelan concurred.

“She will be fine; her scent differs from the last time I treated her.”

“Indeed, she does,” Caelan conceded. The woman appeared and felt distinct to him, and her scent was subtly altered, though he could not ascertain the reason. He was uncertain whether she was aware of her distinct odour. He was aware that she would have noticed the disparity in her eyes, and likely in Amelia’s as well, but what accounted for the difference? That was the fundamental inquiry.

Caelan entered the room and shut the door. He was unconcerned about being alone with her at this moment. Hudson believed he would do nothing but desire to hold her while she was injured. However, his wolf remained enraged. Regarding the affront to her wolf, Amelia was convinced that if they remained bonded, she would have disclosed it to him without reluctance.

“Daisy, please elucidate what transpired,” he enquired serenely. Yelling at her would likely be futile and unproductive. “How can I, as the Alpha, assist you if you do not permit me?””

“I startled another wolf, and it bit me.” “That is the entirety of the events,” she informed him. He recognised it as a falsehood, the profound sorrow in her eyes rendering it implausible as the truth.
