The Alpha’s Possession – Chapter 43

Resumed

She surmised that he was pleased to be rid of her family immediately.

Although Daisy was aware that they had all been elevated in rank, by the conclusion of her first week as Caelan’s Mate, she had not witnessed the event. I had only heard of it. She was also aware that they had received benefits in conjunction with their new title as the future Luna’s mother. A new residence by the lake and subsequently new vehicles, yet she had not participated in that, and she had scarcely seen them at all. Her schedule became exceedingly busy after her relocation to Caelan’s room.

While still in school, she was required to attend Luna Lessons and occasionally participate in higher-ranked events, which she had never desired to do. Subsequently, upon reaching her limit, she redirected her focus to her studies. She had encountered her sisters and her stepmother briefly, yet Rose resumed her indifference the instant Caelan was compelled to accept her as his Mate.

She had never been particularly close to her sisters. Rose indulged both of them from birth, showering them with affection, in contrast to her own lack of a close bond with her biological children, despite Daisy’s efforts to be a dutiful daughter. Daisy sought the approval of the only mother she had ever known.

She had consistently exhibited politeness towards Daisy, neither cruel nor unkind, but rather somewhat indifferent.

It seems that the constant presence of her Mate’s first Mate caused her emotional distress. A persistent reminder that he had a Mate prior to her, had loved another before her, and fathered a child with that previous woman created a rift between them, she sighed.

Daisy learnt that Luna Elizabeth and Rose were orchestrating her 18th birthday celebration, which was anticipated to be a significant event. Caelan had despised it. I informed her that the expenditure on the packs was a waste of money, emphasising the absurdity of the amount being spent while glaring at her.

Daisy instructed him to disregard it entirely; she did not desire a party. And it was indeed the truth.

That occurred one week prior to her complete cessation of communication with him.

She might consider visiting them; however, if Caelan had de-ranked them so swiftly, they may not be pleased to see her. She was unaware. Strained relations with her stepmother, coupled with being de-ranked due to Daisy’s rejection of Caelan, would likely be unfavourable.

Daisy exhaled and remained stationary for the time being.

Contemplating this prompted her to question her status within the pack. Likely akin to her sisters, she was oblivious. Mason may possess the knowledge.

She was quite confident it was exceedingly low. She exhaled, realising she ought to locate a residence within the pack. She could not remain in the pack house without a rank.

“Freya, are there any available residences in the town?”She enquired while settling her bill; although improbable, this was a substantial package of 1500, the last time she visited, yet residences were typically constructed on an as-needed basis.

“I am uncertain; perhaps you could explore the unoccupied flat building.” Rooms are consistently becoming available there.

Daisy acquiesced, stating, “Thank you, I suppose I ought to,” despite her disinclination towards the notion. The location was merely a chaotic free-for-all. Unmated male and female wolves, who chose not to await their divinely ordained partners, resided there and were content to engage in promiscuous behaviour with various companions. Throughout her upbringing, her father had advised her to avoid it.

Daisy returned to the pack-house and proceeded to the library. Regardless of rank, the library was accessible to everyone. She ascended to the second floor, where the portraits of all the former Alphas and Lunas were displayed. Alpha Ronan’s portrait was present, as she observed.

Caelan must have promptly removed it from the office. She contemplated whether he would desire a likeness of himself. He harboured significant doubts that she would be the artist chosen to paint his portrait. Although she excelled at it. Realised a substantial profit, at least until Alpha Ronan significantly increased the pack fee. She understood the reason: to compel her desire to return home.

It would revert to 25% upon her return home. She contemplated the motivation to return home.

Caelan, however, was not an admirer of hers; she had already received two Alpha Orders against her, one prohibiting her from entering Canada, a destination she genuinely wished to visit. The second is prohibited from departing the pack without his consent. What is his rationale for that action? Desire that? She was unaware that the man operated independently of established laws. She had never comprehended him and seemingly never would.

“Daisy?”A female voice captured her attention.

She pivoted and encountered Lydia, the prospective Luna of her pack. He smiled nervously at the woman and said, “Hello.” Were they on the verge of confronting the incident involving Hudson and Amelia? Although her tone did not suggest animosity.

I received information from Alpha Ronan that you are a proficient artist.

“I create oil paintings and watercolours, primarily utilising acrylics.”
