The Alpha’s Possession – Chapter 205

Succumb

Despite her lingering hesitation, she gathered some clothing and proceeded to the bathroom, as a shower was necessary. Not only did she reek of Alpha Kaiden, whom she knew despised that scent, but her hospital gown was stained with her own blood, and her back and hair were similarly matted with it from her self-inflicted injuries. She required a thorough cleansing.

Maurice could visit the pack-house to assess her condition. He appeared exceedingly enraged about her injury during her initial visit to the pack hospital this evening, directing a fierce glare at Caelan upon his arrival with Kaiden to enquire about her well-being.

He snapped, “What did I instruct you, Alpha Caelan ley?” His tone was filled with anger.

“I would suggest that you confront Rose, her stepmother. However, she is deceased, having met her end at Jo0-anne’s hands.”

That appeared to assuage his anger. He nodded, stating, “About time she began to resist,” before departing. This prompted Caelan to recognise her necessity for combat training; he resolved to enrol her as soon as feasible, contingent upon her choice of him.

Mason stood silently in Daisy’s room, appearing contemplative.

“You ought to permit Maurice to observe you, Mason.”

“I am well; it is healing, in fact.”

“I am acquainted with Joe; however.”

“Recover more swiftly than you, Caelan. Release it.” He asserted bluntly.

Which Mason accomplished. His royal lineage rendered him not only larger and more robust but also expedited his healing process. Caelan observed that numerous superficial wounds had merely transformed into red welts; his wolf was already facilitating his recovery, and he would likely be restored within the hour, possibly even sooner.

Caelan observed him; the man appeared displeased, and Caelan surmised it was not due to Kaiden but rather because Daisy had reprimanded Mason for attempting to assist her, an action Caelan had never witnessed her undertake.

Consistently sought his presence during times of distress or when requiring solace.

“I believe she did not intend it, Joe; she is merely traumatised by the events of the night.”

Mason nodded, “I understand, but I wish to comprehend the reason for that reaction.”

“She will communicate with you, Joe; simply allow a day. She will disclose everything, given the bond you share. We have all endured significant challenges today and are currently emotionally drained and in pain.”

Mason experienced her pain physically, akin to Caelan’s sensations earlier today. Both had endured not only the anguish from the blade piercing her chest but also the rupture of their connections to her. It was decidedly a distressing night.

They were seated on Daisy’s couch; she had been in the shower for nearly thirty minutes, and Caelan was beginning to feel concerned, although his hearing detected no sounds of crying or muffled sobs.

After the water ceased, she took an additional 10 minutes to exit the bathroom, adorned in diminutive pale purple silk shorts that scarcely concealed her posterior, paired with a slightly darker purple tank top. He found himself unable to resist; his gaze traversed her figure, which was striking. Her long hair remained damp, having been merely towel-dried, and her elongated legs were prominently displayed. She possessed a delightful curvature at her hips, one he cherished holding onto.

He rose as she exited, and Hudson began purring, the sound resonating through his chest, eliciting a snort of amusement from Mason. This behaviour was atypical for his wolf. Noticing Daisy’s eyes widen, he shrugged at her. “Hudson is exceedingly pleased to see you,” he stated candidly, and indeed his beast was, “He wishes to see Amelia, should you permit it.” He sensed Hudson pressing forward, eager to encounter Amelia, his Goddess-Gifted Mate.

Her eyes shifted in hue, and then Amelia emerged, finding herself in his embrace as Hudson surfaced entirely, cradling her against his body. Caelan cautioned him against any reckless actions, yet his primal instincts appeared solely focused on proximity to his Mate, showing no inclination towards Marking or Mating her. This was fortuitous, given her recent ordeal, likely explaining his restraint.

Both were purring at one another, an endearing duo. He observed Hudson willingly cede control back to Caelan moments later and noticed Amelia glance up at him. He smiled down at Daisy’s wolf and then watched as she nuzzled her face against his chest several times before returning control to Daisy.

She gazed at him, slightly apprehensive. “They are quite adorable,” Caelan remarked gently as she extricated herself from his embrace and stepped back. “You ought to rest.”

Daisy stood there, somewhat uncertain, glancing between him and Mason, biting her lip, which made him desire to kiss her.

She ought to refrain from that action. “Simply articulate it, Daisy,” he urged.

I do not desire solitude.

Caelan recognised that remaining was unwise; it would likely jeopardise his self-control. “I cannot stay, Daisy; I will probably seduce you,” he confessed candidly.

Mason muttered, “Not on my watch.”

“Will you remain until I drift off to sleep?” she enquired gently.

“I believe that will suffice,” Caelan affirmed.

He gestured for her to enter her bed, to which she complied willingly. Caelan proceeded to tuck her in before positioning himself beside her on the bed, lying down adjacent to her. He appreciated that Daisy did not recoil from his presence; he gently brushed aside a few stray strands of her hair from her face while gazing down at her.

Mason was positioned on the opposite side of the bed.

The man appeared tense, prepared to impede Caelan and Hudson as he had just done with Kaiden.

The man intended to safeguard her from all individuals.

Caelan settled in and observed her eyelids flutter shut; it did not take long for her to succumb to slumber, both physically and mentally fatigued. It was a pleasure to witness her nestle against his chest as she fully surrendered to sleep. He recognised it as their connection, yet it filled him with joy to behold it.

He encircled her with his arm and embraced her tenderly, reluctant to rise and depart, yet aware of the necessity to do so. He recognised that he would bond with her if he awakened beside her.

Leaning down to kiss her forehead ignited a pleasurable warmth on his lips, evoking a delightful sensation of intimacy once more.
