He now comprehended why the man had not retreated that day and why he had asserted his intention to return today; he had likely detected her presence as well.
Caelan overheard Mason threaten Beta Ben as he approached, observed the man’s hesitation, and recognised that he would be unable to confront Mason—hardly anyone could, especially not a Beta. Only a powerful Alpha, likely a pureblood, could defeat him, and he was aware that Mason would go to any lengths to safeguard Daisy. He would willingly kill to protect her.
Upon hearing Mason mention two companions, Hudson immediately growled that he would not share Amelia with anyone. Moreover, urged the Beta to pacify his Alpha. Caelan and Hudson would undoubtedly contend for her. However, they were aware that initiating it would be unwise. It would be a lethal confrontation. Kaiden appeared to comprehend this as well.

It was an accurate statement; he was likely to have a more favourable report with Daisy than with Caelan. “We have already mated with her; she permitted us. Now, she must mate with us in return; she belongs to us,” Hudson growled internally.
“It is improbable that it will be straightforward, Hudson.” “I hope it will be, but likely not,” he sighed heavily before following everyone inside.
Caelan recognised that he was entirely unaware of the status of his mating ball, including the pairings and whether his mother had terminated it or allowed it to proceed.

Caelan was on the verge of sitting down in his chair when he abruptly halted, astonished by MASON’s words, ‘What?’

“Understood.” He severed the connection and subsequently seated himself in his chair.
Everyone in the room focused on him, his astonishment at Mason’s remarks likely apparent to all.

“Deceased.” Caelan reiterated, though he wished not to, as he pondered how this man, asserting himself as her other mate, could remain oblivious to her demise, unlike himself.
“Who perpetrated the act?”“the man uttered.”
“It has been addressed.” How were you unaware?Caelan enquired incisively. If the man was present to assert his claim over her, then he understood her significance to him. He ought to have experienced it, as Caelan had. It appeared otherwise.
