The Alpha’s Possession – Chapter 188

Composure

As soon as it was released, his agony magnified tenfold; he was witnessing her demise. Hudson was wailing in agony, subsequently bending over and grasping his chest. It was overwhelming; he struggled to articulate, “her…” he gasped, attempting to endure the excruciating pain in his chest, “to the hospital…” He sensed their connection beginning to fray, as she was dying before him, and he lacked the strength to lift her and rush her to the pack’s hospital. “I can’t,” he lamented, his own claws digging into his chest, yearning to extract his heart and alleviate the anguish of losing her.

His hand was forcibly removed from his chest, eliciting a visceral cry of pain from him. Both he and Hudson simultaneously expressed their anguish, after which his body was forcefully thrust to the floor, his hands restrained behind his back, pinned down by multiple individuals.

“Son, cease and compose yourself.”

“She is dying,” he gasped. “I can sense it.”

Heard his father curse upon realising what Caelan was conveying; an Alpha could only be defeated in such a manner through the loss of their Mate.

“Compose yourself; she is not deceased yet.”

Joe possesses her. Who was responsible for it?“

“I did not observe.” He had not observed, having diverted his gaze from her to converse with his father; she had been with Mason, entirely secure. How could this have transpired? “There exists a blade.”

“I understand,” Alex remarked. “It is concealed; the scent is obscured.” “However, it is not solely Daisy’s blood,” he inhaled deeply. “It is also Rose’s blood, her insufferable stepmother.”

Rage surged within Caelan and Hudson at those words; it was instantaneous, and he propelled himself off the ground despite being restrained by several individuals. That despicable woman was destined to perish. “Release me!” he bellowed, and they all complied. His rage would be limitless. “Locate her immediately,” and then he vanished as well.

She could not have travelled far; they were pursuing her, and she would be evading capture, connected to all border patrols to apprehend her at any cost, instructing them to notify him immediately upon sighting her. Dispatched warriors to her residence. Her additional offspring were present. He had previously cautioned her, threatening her children should she inflict harm on Daisy, yet she proceeded regardless. If they were not fleeing, those girls would be in his office.

Hudson repositioned them; he was capable of swifter movement and possessed an enhanced olfactory sense. She had lacerated herself on that blade, causing her to bleed, a scent that all wolves could discern: fresh blood.

She was located swiftly. After thirty minutes, Hudson confronted her wolf, which was snarling directly at her. She was alone, traversing the woods towards the southern border, the most distant point from the pack house.

They perceived Daisy’s entreaty through the mental connection.

His anger intensified at her plea to spare the woman’s life. How could she utter such words, how could she pose that question, denying him his inherent right to slay the wolf that had attacked her?

He launched himself at her, only to be struck by another wolf who bit him. Turning, he saw Lark snarling at him. ‘Enough, Caelan. Daisy is fine; she does not wish her harm,’ came Mason’s voice through the mind-link.

Hudson propelled himself towards Lark. How audacious of them to impede him; how brazen to assault him? As the Alpha Wolf, he possessed the authority to administer punishment, including death, to any wolf that threatened his Mate.

Lark solely defended himself against Hudson and refrained from further aggression until additional wolves appeared. Tucker, the wolf belonging to his father, now positioned himself between Hudson and Lark to prevent the ongoing altercation.

Rose was forcibly relocated by command and was taken away while resisting vocally and physically. It appeared she believed she had committed no wrongdoing. Hudson continued to snarl in fury.

Mason stepped back and gazed down at Hudson, exhaling, “Release Hudson; they do not wish for you to kill her just yet. They seek answers first, after which you may proceed with her demise.”

Hudson glared at him with hostility.

Mason gazed down at him. “You don’t believe it didn’t hurt me as well; I yelled at her myself. Come on, Hudson, transform and return Caelan.”

Hudson snapped his jaws at him before turning and retreating, relinquishing control moments later and transferring it back to Caelan, subsequently withdrawing to the recesses of his mind. He remained infuriated that he had not slain the wolf. They intended to.

Daisy would not impede him this time. It was his entitlement.

“Where are her offspring?”He growled.

“In your office alongside Oliver and his unit,” his father responded, matching his pace. “Offspring?””

“I prefer not to discuss it,” Caelan retorted as he proceeded to his office. If he visited Daisy, he would likely berate her immediately, and if he proceeded to the cells, he would undoubtedly harm Rose severely.

He proceeded to his office, observing that Mason was once again en route to the hospital. The hour was merely 9 PM, and the moon had yet to descend. Maree and Marie were kneeling on the floor when he entered his office, heads lowered. He pulled on a pair of trousers from his closet and glared at them.

His gaze shifted to Oliver. “Where did you discover them?””

Viewing television. Within their residence, I believe they were entirely unaware and had no comprehension of the reasons for their apprehension in Alpha.

His gaze returned to the two girls, aged 19 and 21, who emanated an unmistakable aura of fear, and rightly so. “Are you aware of your mother’s actions this evening?”“he uttered with difficulty.”

“Negative, Alpha.” Maree responded.

“Attempted to murder Daisy…stabbed her directly in the chest,” he growled, loathing the necessity of articulating those words aloud.

Both girls finally looked up at him, their eyes wide with astonishment at his words.

“Two parents are now traitors,” implying that they are no longer trustworthy. Both were aware of this.

“Alpha, we were not involved; we did not harm Daisy,” Maree reiterated.

“Would you do that?”He growled.

“No,” they both replied, shaking their heads.

He gazed at them for an extended moment. “Renounce both, or act independently,” Caelan declared bluntly. “I am granting you one hour to decide,” he directed his gaze towards Oliver. “Do not allow them to escape your observation.”

“Certainly, Alpha.”

Daisy’s Perspective

Daisy exited her bed and proceeded down the hospital corridor when she encountered Mason approaching her, his expression marked by a frown, evidently displeased with her being out of bed. She raised a hand before her as soon as his mouth opened, presumably to reprimand her, preventing him from expressing his irritation or worry. To which she was indifferent.

“Do not attempt to impede me, Mason.” I seek answers.

Subsequently, you may act as you wish with her, including terminating her life. “I will not impede you; I am indifferent now.” At that instant, she felt apathy, as it required all her willpower and strength to rise from her bed.

“Are you implying that?”He enquired, doubting her veracity.

“Yes,” she affirmed; that woman had injured her wolf. Amelia was rapidly deteriorating, and once she was gone, Daisy realised she would not survive much longer herself. They had become one, and wherever her wolf ventured, she would follow. She would never again live without her.

Paused and inhaled deeply to regain composure.

“Daisy, you must return to bed.”
