“Caelan,” she communicated to him, “do not kill her.” All she received in return was wrath and indignation. He terminated the connection without uttering a word.
“Ella, assist me; they will transport her to the cells.”
“Caelan will eliminate her, Daisy, and justifiably so.”
I must comprehend prior to his understanding. “Please, Ella, assist me in stopping him,” she implored. Ella was gazing at her. “You will remain here.” I will seek out Joe, provided you remain here.
“Hurry, Ella.” Daisy acquiesced and reclined once more. She was fatigued and understood the reason. It was futile to inform anyone. Remaining silent would be more beneficial, as speaking would only cause them harm. Allow them to believe she was fine. Amelia internally lamented, “Simply rest, my dear girl, do not resist.” “We require the energy,” she informed her wolf.
Caelan’s Perspective
Observing Daisy enter the ballroom accompanied by Ella, followed closely by AlphaKaiden, immediately provoked his irritation. He ought to have anticipated that the man would pursue her in an attempt to isolate her; however, it seemed that Ella was accompanying her, and they left him at the base of the stairs to proceed to the drinks table, his gaze fixed on her throughout the journey.
She appeared stunningly elegant in that exquisite dress, which accentuated her figure flawlessly while maintaining a refined demeanour. She collapsed to her knees, and the stiletto heels she wore accentuated her already elongated legs.
She appeared stunning in that soft grey hue, which complemented her eyes. Her lengthy cinnamon-brown hair was styled in voluminous curls, exposing her bare back. He yearned to caress her unadorned skin but glanced at the clock, which indicated it was only 7 PM; he still had to wait.
He observed that she appeared somewhat anxious while conversing with Ella, indicating a potential confrontation.
He was unable to hear it over the music, which was quite frustrating. Ella appeared displeased with Daisy; however, her gaze briefly intersected his from across the room before reverting to Ella. An incident had occurred, and he was certain it involved him.
“Joe, engage in dance with both Daisy and Ella.” Maintain her engagement.
“Certainly, Caelan, I shall endeavour to prevent AlphaKaiden from approaching her.” He then descended from the platform and proceeded across the floor towards the girls.
“Caelan,” Cole growled at him before pursuing Mason.
“Allow them to dance, Cole.” “It will not cause her harm,” he remarked. Cole was perpetually concerned about Ella. She had evidently been in love with Mason for an extended period. Cole had informed him that evening, and he wished to prevent his younger sister’s heart from being broken when Mason discovered his mate. Did not desire Ella to occupy the man’s bed, only to be heartbroken and subsequently discarded when Mason discovered his divinely appointed mate.
He possessed an unwavering resolve to keep them separated, as she was his sole younger sister and he felt a strong sense of protectiveness towards her. Caelan observed that Cole appeared unaffected by her relationships or s****l encounters with other wolves in the pack. He did not visit other pack members, only Mason. This likely stemmed from Ella’s indifference towards the others compared to her feelings for Mason. He observed Cole approaching him, glaring intently. “Abandon them,” Caelan instructed him.
“They are not companions, Caelan.”
“They are not.” However, if he were to propose the idea, she would undoubtedly acquiesce.
“I shall not permit it.”
“It is not your decision.” Caelan gazed directly at him, deliberately. Mason and Ella were responsible, and when Mason ultimately acquiesced to the girl, he granted his approval when they approached him. MASON was not disinclined, and now that he had ceased to torment Caelan with Daisy, his focus was entirely on Ella. This could be the impetus required for him to pursue Ella.
He observed the trio engaging in laughter and dance. It was pleasing to observe. His gaze shifted to AlphaKaiden, who was scowling as he observed Mason dancing with the pair. Their enjoyment of dancing as a trio was evident, potentially causing the man to reconsider.
Jayden was aware of Mason’s lineage; most individuals were.
His father garnered his attention, prompting Caelan to approach him to enquire about the current situation. His father had entirely withdrawn from overseeing the pack, having not entered his office in over a week, with only a few mind-links exchanged.
“Are you concerned about Joe’s son?””
“No father,” and he had no justification for this absence. Did not even glance at the location where they were all dancing. No one was aware that she was his younger sister, and it would likely remain that way indefinitely, unless Belinda chose to disclose it, which she currently did not. She was present in the room observing her daughters. Caelan’s gaze shifted to her as she observed Mason and Daisy. He smiled, and his father struck him.
“What?”He immediately frowned at him.
“You exhibited a smile.”
“Was I?” He shrugged in response.
“What is occurring, Caelan? You seldom smile, yet yesterday you smiled at your sisters, and now you are doing so again.”
“I do smile, Father; you simply do not…” His hand clutched his chest as he staggered backward, overwhelmed by a searing pain.
His father seized him. “Caelan, my son, what troubles you?””
Mason shouted “DAISY.” Something was amiss with her; he was on his knees, while Hudson was wailing in agony within his mind. Hudson advanced decisively and asserted dominance over him. A tremendous cry of anguish erupted from him, and then they accelerated to full wolf speed to locate her. He collapsed to his knees beside her, agony consuming him; she was succumbing, and both he and Hudson sensed it. A silver dagger was embedded in her chest, near her heart.
“Daisy,” he exclaimed breathlessly. He could not afford to lose her again; blood was accumulating from the injury in her chest.
She gazed directly at him, her eyes filled with profound anguish, before shifting her attention back to Mason, who was overcome with jealousy. Despite her impending demise, Mason retained her complete attention; always Mason, their fraternal connection transcending all, even his to hers. She entrusted Mason with her entire essence.
Informed Mason that it was painless; he understood that this was due to the silver dagger, which was ultimately causing her demise.
He was unable to remove it, as blood was already accumulating. If he extracted it, she would bleed profusely; Mason appeared indifferent and wrenched the dagger from her before Caelan could intervene.
