The Alpha’s Possession – Chapter 186

Blade

They excused themselves and departed from him immediately upon entering the ballroom, “What is occurring, Daisy?”“Ella enquired as they departed from him.”

“It is inconsequential, Ella.”

“That is unacceptable,” she declared, positioning her hands on her hips while gazing intently at Daisy. “Elucidate.”

“I am unable to elucidate it, Ella.”

“Indeed, you can,” she asserted bluntly.

Daisy sighed, her gaze traversed the room and settled on Caelan, who was staring directly at her. “I am unable to,” she glanced back at her companion. “Release it,” she whispered.

“Acceptable, but only temporarily.” Ella scowled at her, her eyes narrowed, aware that something else was amiss and resolved to seek an explanation later.

“Incoming.” Daisy smiled, her gaze fixed on Mason, who was approaching, with Cole closely following him. She pivoted and directed a smile towards Mason.

His gaze traversed her form, pausing on her curves, before he encircled both of them at the waist. “Engage in a dance with me.”

She was smiling broadly now. “Certainly.”

Daisy laughed, “I will abstain from this one.”

“No, I shall dance with both of you.” He then drew them onto the dance floor.

“Joseph!””

“Depart, Cole.” I have received directives to adhere to.

“Joseph!””

Mason retorted, “Address Caelan if you disapprove, Cole.” Cole fixed him with a glare before departing.

He then danced with both of them, grasping each hand, twirling them around, drawing them in towards him and then spinning them away. It was quite enjoyable; she was unaware that the man possessed the ability to dance, much less with two partners simultaneously.

Ella and Daisy were engaging in laughter and enjoyment with him. He exhibited exemplary gentlemanly conduct, ensuring that neither of their bodies made contact with his at any point. No one appeared to intervene as both danced with Mason consecutively for approximately thirty minutes. Subsequently, the music transitioned to a slow melody, prompting Daisy to propel Ella directly into him, facilitating physical contact between them. “You should accept this one.”

Ella smiled at him, saying, “My pleasure,” as she wrapped her arms around Mason’s neck while Daisy departed, allowing them to engage in a slow dance together. Regrettably, she had not brought her camera; it would have captured a lovely photograph, she mused as she turned to observe them. Mason was attired in his formal pack suit, while Ella rested her head against Mason’s chest, her entire body inclined towards him.

Mason embraced her waist, exuding happiness and comfort. Why were they not mates? She was unable to comprehend it. They appeared exceedingly at ease in one another’s embrace, exuding relaxation, with the girl fitting perfectly beneath his chin, as if destined to be there.

Daisy sensed a hand on her arm and turned to identify the individual. Rose positioned herself in front of her. Daisy was perplexed as to why she was present; she was already mated and lacked the rank to be in the ballroom today.

The woman’s eyes brimmed with fury as she glared at Daisy, followed by a sharp pain piercing her chest. “If I cannot possess a Mate, neither shall you.” she declared before departing.

Daisy recoiled as she sensed Amelia’s disappearance, glancing down at her chest.

A blade was embedded beneath her rib cage, angled upwards. She inhaled sharply upon witnessing blood cascading down her dress. Mason shouted her name as she collapsed to the ground. She felt immense pain as she collapsed onto her side, under the gaze of onlookers. She perceived a tremendous roar of anguish emanating from behind her in the ballroom; her hand made contact with the blade, eliciting a gasp as it seared her fingers.

Silver.

Mason was leaning over her, anguish evident in his grey eyes. “Daisy,” he gasped in horror, his gaze fixed on hers.

“Do not touch it,” she cautioned as she exited, attempting to alert him that it was silver.

She heard Ella urgently calling for a doctor or any medical personnel, perceiving the panic in her voice.

Caelan gazed down at her, exclaiming “Daisy,” with a gasp that suggested he was in distress. She gazed at him and perceived anguish in his eyes, reminiscent of Mason’s.

She redirected her gaze to Mason and whispered, “It’s alright, it doesn’t hurt excessively.”

“Remove it from her, Caelan,” she heard him shout.

“She will bleed out, Joe,” he retorted.

She then experienced the blade being forcibly extracted from her, resulting in a gasp of pain.

“Joe obtains.. her to the hospital. “I cannot,” stated Caelan. He appeared to be in torment, scarcely able to articulate words to her.

Mason lifted her and they exited the ballroom. She perceived a tremendous cry of anguish behind her. “Mason”

“Wait, Daisy.”

“It is acceptable; the pain has diminished significantly.” And indeed, it had. The pain was diminishing progressively. She could sense Amelia now, yet her wolf was agitated and distressed within her consciousness. I attempted to reassure her that everything would be fine. Reaching her appeared challenging; her wolf felt distant, aware that Amelia was attempting to heal her, yet their bond seemed diminished.

“Remain alert, Daisy; do not succumb to slumber,” he shouted at her.

However, she was fatigued and beginning to feel chilly.

“Communicate with me, Daisy; express anything.”

“Ella,” she exhaled, “desires your presence.” equally as much.” Subsequently, darkness ensued.

The lights were exceedingly bright, and Mason was gazing down at her. “Oh, thank the goddess, Daisy, you startled me profoundly.”

What transpired? She groaned, placing her hand on her chest. “Arg,” she exclaimed, as pain enveloped her.

“Fortunately, the blade bypassed your heart.” You will be fine.

“It causes pain, Mason.”

“I am aware, and it will persist for some time.” Who was Daisy?”

“Rose,” she replied, “my stepmother.”

“She is a deceased individual,” he growled with ire.

“Maon, do not inflict harm upon her.”

His gaze locked onto hers, filled with intense fury.

“Do not utter that,” he retorted sharply. “She unequivocally attempted to murder you.”

“I must enquire as to the reason.”

“You are not approaching her,” he shouted before abruptly exiting the room.

Daisy shut her eyes; both her father and her stepmother had attempted to murder her. It was illogical; she needed to ascertain the reason. Propped herself up and grasped her chest. A hand was placed upon her.

She glanced to observe Ella positioned beside her bed. “Ella.”

“I am present, Daisy.”

What is occurring?”

“Manhunt.” “I should refer to it as a she-wolf hunt.”

“I must converse with her.”

“No, you must rest; that blade narrowly missed your heart, Daisy, by merely a millimeter.”

I am well.

“You are not.” “Recline,” she instructed, gently guiding her back onto the bed.

“Ella, assist me.”

“Upon your complete recovery.”

Daisy shut her eyes; Amelia remained within her consciousness, still in agony, as they faced demise.

No one was aware of it yet. However, she did, as did Amelia. She could perceive the sorrow of her wolf. She was unable to heal her; her head rested between her paws, and she appeared listless and uninspired.

She compelled herself to rise, pushed Ella’s hand aside, gazed at her blood-soaked dress, removed the bandage, and examined her skin. A scar remained from the silver blade’s wound, another addition to her body, she mused absently, yet she was aware that something was still amiss within her.
